We honeymooned at this resort 10 years ago and had been raving about it ever since. After finally getting back there I would say it's still an amazing resort, however, very little has changed in 10 years so most of our experience was expected. I would still highly recommend it, but I personally might be looking for the next best thing. The lobby and welcoming is amazing and the staff does an excellent job of making you feel well taken care of. Our concierge, Perla, would check on us daily to ensure everything was satisfactory and to confirm our dinner plans. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. This was much appreciated and helpful to know we'd always have 1 main person to contact for anything. For this trip we stayed in the Parlor Suite as we were traveling with our kids. The room is massive and offers so much space and privacy from the main hallway. Our cleaning crew was amazing and our mini bar with snacks was always well stocked with what we requested - much appreciated! The restaurants are all 5 stars and again the staff works very hard to ensure you are happy with your meal and service. This includes Azul, the new coffee bar, and in-suite dining. Everything was delicious and we found ourselves almost too full every day. Kevyn at Piaf was amazing to us and let us call down to the Kids Club to check on our kids during our meal. I will say the Kids Club receives more thanks than I can give in this forum. My kids absolutely loved it and asked to go several times a day over swimming at the pool. They offered hourly activities, including a few character events, and the kids could hang out there while my husband and I enjoyed a dinner alone. This is not common in the US and I was certainly hesitant, but they loved it! Domenika is absolutely amazing and I instantly felt her trust and compassion within minutes of meeting her. All of the staff was so welcoming and they work very hard to keep the kids occupied and happy. We did not use this service 10 years ago so I'm unsure of how it's evolved. Seeing as we spent 95% of our trip at the pool, we really appreciated the pool staff. It was a sunny 90 degrees during our trip and they never looked hot or tired. After 1 day of learning what we liked, they would have our usual favorites ready for us within minutes of claiming our chairs. While I didn't always need/want my usual drink at 11am, the service and attention to detail was so appreciated. Gustavo, Diego, everyone behind the swim-up bar, and the outdoor activity team were fantastic! Unfortunately the spa and fitness center were undergoing remodeling and while you could still use some of their services elsewhere, it was a little disappointing. The addition of the coffee bar was nice, and perhaps for the future some sort of ice cream set-up could be added like a soft serve with toppings within Azul for the kids.
