Falls of Lora Hotel

Very large old building set back from the main road and over five miles from Oban. There's limited parking here so this may become a problem if you have mobility issues. The rooms are extremely basic and it seemed to me that every expense had been spared when there were renovated. Upon first entering my room I noticed a lingering smell of sewage in the bathroom, this dispersed when I left the fan on for two hours whilst I went for dinner in Oban. The TV was a tiny flat screen affair but the room itself was so small that it seemed to be in proportion. The over-bath shower set-up was okay but the bathroom itself was cramped and tiny. Breakfast was totally grim and inedible, I took one bite of each item and left the lot, it had very obviously been reheated in a microwave as it was molten hot. Additionally the teacups on my table showed brown stains so the cuppa was left too. When I was in my roomy there was a lot of noise bleed through from other rooms and disturbance from people in the corridor which was disturbing. For me, the biggest problem with Falls of Lora Hotel was that the bed and bedding all had a strong smell of a famous brand of antiseptic which rendered my pyjamas unusable for the rest of my trip. When I mentioned this particular smell to a member of staff she nodded, laughed and said 'it's because a lot of old people stay here'. The only positive for this depressing hotel was the endless good humour and pleasantness of the staff.

Clean and comfortable. Our room had great views. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast was good. Not huge but sufficient Beds were comfortable. Not the cheapest but good value The only downside is that’s it’s a bit of a trek up the stairs for limited mobility people. Very good place. We didn’t have dinner but it looked good.

One of my favs! If you haven’t been then its a must. Beautiful place, beautiful food and excellent customer service. We eat here often and are never disappointed. Service is great, lovely atmosphere, warm & friendly. Everywhere is immaculate. The menu has an excellent choice and caters for everyone! Definitely a Special Place! Thank you 👌😁

Friendly staffs, well decorated interior and exterior (love the variety of flowers), charging point for electric vehicle is available, nice view facing the river and Connel bridge, and very close to Oban, very convenient. Had a great stay and highly recommend.

Seen this hotel passing so called to book a table,got there passing reception who was unfriendly seen bistro shown our table ordered a lasagne spice,also ******* burger special,not great got back home.and being sick due to the burger. bar staff ok.

Me and my wife got a lovely dinner here at the falls of Laura hotel. We are enjoying our trip in and around Oban and we’re recommend this place by a few locals. Lovely food and the place is very well decorated, as well as the chilled bar area with the lovely bar staff who were lively and friendly which is always nice to see. Hopefully return on our next stay in Oban.
