Though I did not aim for playing golf in this hotel, but it is still worth staying if you plan to stay in Obidos and will drive. The hotel is about 15 min. drive to town centre and parking is easy in the town. Hotel offers free parking and there are quite a lot of park spaces around the area. Some rooms are further away from hotel lobby and restaurant but there are different parking areas around the hotel so that it will still be closed to your room. The room and bathroom are spacious and my room has a stunning view overlooking a large green area and ocean. Bed is comfortable and the room is clean with overall good condition. I had dinner at the bar and breakfast was included in the restaurant, food was ok and you could stay in the bar untill 11pm or 12am (did to remember) if you want to have a drink. You can use the swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) and sauna and you can borrow the robe, towel and locker from them which is convenient. They also have a gym room but I did not use it so I am not sure whether it is also free or not. I will highly recommend this hotel considering the price and everything.
All 177 guestrooms have private terraces or balconies with unique views of either the Atlantic Ocean or the beautiful 18 holes championship golf course and gardens. Tempera restaurant is open daily for Breakfast and Diner offering a variety of themed Buffets. Light meals can be enjoyed together with beautiful views at Contato Lobby Bar. Cuisine is taken very seriously and our Chefs take great pride and pleasure in their creations. Fully renovated, the main highlights are the Hydrothermal Area, Vitality and Champagne Pool, Relaxation Pool and Main Pool with water cannon and massage waterfalls. Also available is the Kalyan SPA offering a range of massages, beauty therapies and treatments. Kids will love the Kids Club with indoor and outdoor activities.

Excellent
BBobby SongThis hotel met all my expectations for the ancient European hotel: the house needless to say, the historical building, the furniture is any 18th century, the decoration is very antique, for me this nostalgia is very strong people undoubtedly full of attraction. The breakfast ceremony is full of sense, the food quality is fresh and delicious, the food is very satisfying, the staff are elegant and generous, warm and thoughtful. Needless to say, the hotel environment is exquisite and beautiful. The pool brings us a lot of happiness and leisure. Of course, this old hotel can't be satisfied every week because the room is not big, such as no coffee tea can be self-service at any time, but it feels very lucky to be able to live in the town medieval festival. The guests here are also very elegant and tasteful, very pleasant! Hopefully I can come here again.
GGuest UserThe hotel parking lot is very small (only 7-8 parking spaces on the roadside, coordinates 39.363078, -9.156986), parking is difficult. Please contact the hotel before departure to confirm the route to the city, so as not to catch it. For our stay in April 2019, only the Porta do Vale ou Senhora da Graça gate can enter the city, then turn right, follow the R. do Cel. Pacheco road to the top and then turn right, continue for 50 meters until There is a parking space under the castle. The front desk is in the garden at the end of the road. There are signs that can't go wrong. When leaving the city, first return to the entrance of Porta do Vale ou Senhora da Graça, then turn right (Graça gate can only enter the city, can not leave the city), south of the city wall all the way to the Portal de Óbidos gate (the gate Can only go out of town, can not enter the city), and then out of the city. There may be many steps from the parking space to the hotel room. It is recommended that older or infirm people arrange the front desk baggage helper (please pay the appropriate tip. For reference, if we have two large luggage, we will pay a 5 Euro tip). The 24-hour front desk staff is warm, professional and satisfied. The interior facilities of the room are in line with the website description and are comfortable. Satisfied with the waiter cleaning, emptying the trash, changing towels and making the bed in the daily room. The shower hot water is very good, no worries. No slippers in the room, please bring your own. The hotel restaurant view and service are very good. Rich breakfast and high quality. Beautiful dinner. The lounge is very comfortable and don't forget to enjoy it. There is a hidden door in the restaurant that leads directly to the top of the castle, so you can climb the high view and not miss it. Before the arrival of the early morning tide of Obidus and the retreat of the evening crowd, the light is soft, quiet and full of the original taste of the ancient city, which is worthy of sweeping the street. The inner city is not big, there are only three main streets in the north-south direction, and it takes only 1-1.5 hours to walk around.

I’ve never had so many mixed feelings about a hotel! I love reading so when I saw this hotel is all about books, it seemed the perfect hotel for me. The staff is just lovely, and we had dinner in the restaurant which was the best meal I’ve had during our trip (order the filet mignon and thank me later). The halls are shabby with old stained carpet but you only walk past that. The room however….. I loved the books and the vibe they tried to create, but the bed was cheap and the sheets were stained. The bathroom was sooo old, it needs to be remodeled right away. I’ve seen pictures online and think some rooms are renovated a bit and some aren’t and we just weren’t lucky. We only spent one night there so I just stayed up very late so I didn’t have to sleep in the bed too much and skipped the shower. The hotel has a lot of potential, the restaurant is fantastic and the staff is great, they should renovate the rooms so you don’t pay a 4-star price for a 2-star bedroom. Again I want to make it very clear the staff is excellent and the food amazing!
HhighlanderfilGiven this hotel is ranked 4 out of 17 among Obidos hotels at the time of writing, I might have been forgiven for expecting a little more. What we got for our $130 was an astonishingly uncomfortable bed with tiny, squishy pillows, a shower with an improperly attached door (and a resulting wet mess all over the tiny bathroom’s floor), sewage smell from the same bathroom, an awkwardly located sink that requires even modestly-sized guests to maneuver rather intricately to perch on the adjacent porcelain throne so as not to impale themselves on its sharp corner, an air conditioning unit as old as the hotel itself and a huge wall containing a relatively tiny window behind a wooden door. Maybe it was just our luck and other double rooms are better, but something tells me this is all just part of the “charm”. The location just outside the city wall and free parking if you’re there early enough and the hotel isn’t totally full - there are only eight spots - are just about the only things earning this review an extra star.

GGuest UserFrom the condition of the villas to the quality of hospitality offered by staff, this was a huge disappointment. The villas have not been maintained, as evident from many deteriorating aspects throughout. Best example are the bathrooms, where the tiles do not lay flat, and the grout is cracked and very dirty. Ditto for the caulking around the tub. There's a skylight which does not let much light in due tot he accumulation of dirt and debris. The villas were two stories, and our downstairs level, which included the kitchen and living area, was overrun with ants. Not my favorite early morning activity to collect and dispose of hordes of ants. Also, we did not know what was decaying off the patio, which is off the sliding door from the living area, but there was a large community of flies which prevented us from using the patio or even going outside through the sliding doors. I requested that the ”resort” address these issues but, in the 5 days we were there they did not do a thing. Also, there were steep stairs leading down to the entry door, and the railing was very loose and covered with some sticky substance. Again, I asked for this to be addressed so I didn't have to worry about falling the stairs, and it was never taken care of. We had dinner at the ”club” the first night and the food was terrible. Finally, we had made reservations five months in advance for TWO villas, as we were attending a family wedding in Obidos. When we arrived, the staff told us that no, we only had a reservation for ONE villa. They were quite insistent, until we showed them the email confirmation of the reservation. Even then, they were not apologetic. They found a second villa, but it was not convenient to the first, but they said that was all they could do. We also discovered that the wedding planner had come earlier with two welcome boxes, since she knew there were two parties staying a Bom Successo, but the hotel staff told her that only one party was staying there. However, they claimed, to us, that the wedding planner only brought the one welcome box. Did they not think we would talk to her and find out they were just lying? We were promised that the hotel would provide a remediation for us (we suggested a significant discount was in order) due to the abysmal treatment and the deficient accommodations but, despite repeated inquiries, nothing was ever addressed. All in all, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
