We stayed 3 nights at the hotel. It is nice and clean. Highly recommended in sherbrone. Only down side poor network reception in the area.

We have stayed here quite a few times and have just spent an enjoyable Christmas at The Grange. Jon and Jenny are delightful hosts and their staff very friendly and helpful. Alcohol prices are reasonable. The resident cat, Neptune is gorgeous.

I always notice the peaceful surroundings outside and the happy atmosphere inside first of all when I visit this hotel. The countryside is outstandingly beautiful, with many interesting places to visit. Sherborne itself is a little gem of a town, and Oborne is within walking distance of it whilst still sitting in a quiet and pretty village. The silence at night is only broken by the hoot of an owl which I always love to hear, and my astronomy-loving husband keeps threatening to bring his telescope so that he can enjoy the wonderful dark skies around it. There is always a warm welcome inside from the lovely staff who - unlike so many hotels- stay from year to year. A contented buzz seems to have permanently settled on this building which comes from people enjoying themselves. As well they might: the rooms are well thought out, individually and beautifully decorated - no corporate grey here - and spotlessly clean, the food is outstanding and served by people who genuinely seem to care that you are happy with it, and you relax in the knowledge that the whole enterprise is competently run. We returned for the Christmas package and hugely enjoyed ourselves. The main meals were wonderful and the variety for the buffets was a thing of beauty in itself. I had to stop them repeatedly topping my glass up with free champagne before the Christmas lunch, and the thoughtful extras like quizzes to complete within your party should you wish it, and a little Christmas stocking on the door in the morning all add to the wonderful stay. I rarely recommend places to people because everyone has such different tastes, but I never hesitate to tell people about this hotel. Everyone loves it. Believe me, you will too. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff who are all such delightful characters in their own right. We really appreciated all that you did for us and hope that your well deserved rest is a happy one.

Only a one night stay. The tasteful Christmas decorations and helpful and professional staff gave an immediate clue to the attention to detail. Dinner was an excellent experience. My wife and I (well, me mostly) very much appreciated the log fire in the comfy lounge where we were served antipasti while we chose from the wide range of dishes on the menu. We were called through quickly and our three courses were presented by attentive staff at just the right intervals. Food was outstanding and the wine was well chosen. Coffee and petit fours back in the lounge in front of the fire again was a fitting conclusion to the evening. The room was quiet and well appointed with a top quality shower room and a gigantic comfortable bed. Breakfast was a revelation to a fairly seasoned hotel user. Everything on the buffet bar was well presented, fresh and tasty. Our breakfast - Kings Breakfast for me and Boiled eggs and soldiers for my wife was perfectly cooked. Overall, this is the best country hotel experience we have had and cannot be recommended highly enough. We will be back and next time will save ourselves for the English Breakfast!

A very well run family owned hotel, very staff. Imaginative decor and a resident cat Neptune. Excellent cooked breakfast with nothing too much trouble. The bathroom for room 9 is a little tired but clean. Plenty of safe parking. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay. Lots of information regards things to do and places of interest.

This is a lovely family run hotel to which we have returned annually since discovering. It offers a friendly, warm welcome. We love to visit in December as the hotel is beautifully decorated. We enjoy sitting by the open fire sipping a predinner cocktail before going through to the dinning room to enjoy the delicious food, the best we have tasted in a hotel within the UK. We stay in a superior room which is comfortably appointed, and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

We chose the Grange for our pre Christmas get together for our party of seven . The reviews looked pretty good so we booked in for a two night stay with their dinner ,bed and breakfast offer. Our booking was tricky with some of our party uncertain weather they could make it until very near check in date . Teresa and her team were so helpful in getting our party booked in and in the right rooms. The welcome was warm and friendly, the rooms were warm , comfortable and decorated for Christmas. The service was excellent and the restaurant exceeded expectations . We hope to return to enjoy anther stay and the excellent food and service . A great place to stay

One of the best small hotel experiences we’ve had in a long time. Everything, from the warm welcome to the exquisite room and fabulous breakfast choice was first class. Loved the wonderful textiles, wall coverings and good quality bed linen, all beautifully put together. Only stayed for one night as we were moving on to relatives nearby but I could happily have stayed longer. Anyone planning a trip to the area could not do better than a stay at The Grange - I will certainly be recommending it.
