The Blue House Boutique Bed & Breakfast

In a lush tropical setting there you will find The Blue House. Their friendly and attentive the staff left us feeling well cared for. Our morning breakfast, with bacan, cassava pancakes, topped with caramelized banana syrup was a special treat indeed.

We stayed here recently on a family trip. My parents had stayed at The Blue House 2 years ago and said it was lovely, so we knew going in it would be awesome. We had 1 dinner and all the lovely breakfasts. Shrimp fritters were our favorite!! Cassava pancakes were real nice, and the ackee and saltfish traditional Jamaican breakfast was delicious. The property is so beautiful, so many exotic flowers to check out. They truly have a green thumb. We liked the humming bird feeder by the dining table, so cool to see humming birds while we enjoy breakfast. AC ran cold in our room and wifi was strong. Take a shower earlier in the evening, the local water company shuts it down in the later part of the night. Learned this after a night time swim. Beautiful pool on property too, very cool place.

We went here on our honeymoon. The most kind hosts, they had goog recommendation what to go and see! And such goos food! The room was very nice and very clean. Loved the pool and all the plants. Nice location to explore all the wonders Jamaica has to offer!

A cozy quaint place with fantastic scenery. The hosts were extremely accommodating, made you feel at home. Good conversations, kept us entertained. In addition to the main guest house I experienced the cottage as well. It is completely separate from the main guest house to the back of the premises. Surrounded by a lot of the beautiful plant life, the cottage has two bedroom divided by the bathroom and it has a verandah with a daybed to enjoy outside and view the expert gardening. It has air conditioning, a fridge, a microwave and a living room area. There was also an outdoor shower available for use after any excursions e.g. beach before stepping into the cottage. You get the private villa fee for a good price. Though I only had one night in the cottage it was great, the bed was extremely comfortable and it's exactly as seen on the website. The grounds were well maintained. The food was excellent kudos to the chef. Enjoyed every bit of my stay, definitely going again. Go check it out!!!!

Had a beautiful relaxing weekend at the B&B. Our room was as advertised. The bed was very comfy and the cool round bathroom shower had a tropical feel. Food was delicious! The location was close to some great local beaches… Spent the day at Sugar Pot beach, had their whole steamed fish!

To describe The Blue House Boutique B & B as simply 'excellent' would be doing my experience at this dream of a hotel, a disservice. If you're looking for creative space or an intimate getaway, somewhere you can feel 'at home' and be treated like 'one of the family', I can tell you now, that you're going to love The Blue House. Tucked away on top of a hill on a quiet private road, it really is as is described online. It's quaint, clean and has a flavour of what I'd call 'Bohemian Chic'. My beloved booked the Honeymoon Suite, so it was probably the largest of the six bedrooms, but the unoccupied rooms we caught glimpses of had their own 'personalities' and were equally lovely in their individuality. The Blue House is not near a beach, so you won't step out of your room and onto shimmering white sands, but Pleasure Beach is about 15 minutes walk down the road. It's small and it's clean and the water is wonderfully warm. There's also a small cafe where you get a bite to eat. Back to the hotel. Brother and sister, Darryl and Elise Yap are the owners of The Blue House and are very convivial hosts. Darryl is also the resident chef, or 'feeder', as he calls himself. He will ask you what you like and try his best to cater to your tastes. Our original plan was to have only breakfasts, (which were delicious, by the way) and eat out in the evenings. We did go to a couple of restaurants during our two-week stay, but found ourselves dining at the Blue House almost every night, because Darryl's food is first rate! 😋 The hotel staff are also very polite and helpful, which is always a good thing. Housekeeping is done daily and they will do their best to accommodate you. You can arrange for the lovely Patrick, the hotel's resident driver, to transfer you to and from the airport, and you can also hire him to take you shopping, as well as on private tours, if you so wish. There are also plenty of licenced taxis and buses nearby. We ended up hiring a car and, as we're from the UK and Jamaicans also drive on the left hand side of the road, it was a plus for us. However, the UK's Highway Code rulebook (mostly) goes out of the window there. It's not as crazy as some European countries, but you still have to be vigilant. We could have done with one more week, as it was such a great experience, but we will be back, have no doubt. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at The Blue House. You won't regret it!

A dear friend gifted us our wedding anniversary weekend stay at this hotel. Our correspondences prior to arrival were responded to in a prompt and friendly manner, making us really want to be there. Upon arrival we were met by our charming hosts Daryl and Elise, who immediately made us comfortable and right at home. The facilities are clean and appealing. The room was a delight to be in with a view of the beautiful gardens, pool and hills. The bed was soft and most comfortable. The highlight was the FOOD!! OMG the menus are to die for!! Daryl was the consumate chef and every meal was delicious and delectable. We definitely will return for the food and lovely company of the wonderful hosts - Darly and Elise. Keep up the good work. Oh - and location is within easy reach to the beaches, entertainment areas, shopping centre and other attractions. Great location.

We enjoyed our stay at The Blue House from the garden to the food and our hosts Elise and Darryl. The views of the mountains while dining and having breakfast and listening to the birds are unforgettable. Darryl’s home cooked meals rival any chef’s cooking and we enjoyed listening to Elise’s stories of Jamaica. We will definitely come back.

The Blue House is a hidden gem. We absolutely LOVED it!! Every aspect of the experience is carefully thought through, from the layout of the room to the delicious (enormous) home cooked meals by Daryl. It is clean, the staff is friendly and it feels like home. The flowers that surround the grounds make it even more beautiful. Elyse is warm, hilarious and a wonderful host. My family will definitely stay here any time we come to Jamaica.
