Staff were perfectly nice, and the view was incredible, but those are the only good things we can say. The hotel is a building site with noise through the day of drilling, sawing, chainsaws, etc. right next to the pool and the lake. The pool is also surrounded by men working and building materials piled around. Some areas are left in unsafe conditions throughout the day with no warning signs or safety rope, including thin metal bars sticking out of the concrete. We saw children running around and playing next to these, when they could have easily fallen on them and either seriously injured themselves or worse. In addition the rest of the hotel is very out of date and sparse, there is random furniture scattered around the various floors, as if everything is being rearranged. Throughout the hotel and especially in our room there were electrics coming out of the wall or not secured properly. The front desk offered to change our room / send someone to fix but we could see from the rest of the hotel that every room would likely be the same. The aircon also had no effect even when seemingly on full power. The bathroom was dirty and moldy in places, and even after having been 'cleaned' after the first night there were areas that had clearly not been touched. The shower also didn't have any fixing on the wall so you have to hold it with one hand at all times which was quite frustrating. The hotel should have at least warned guests when booking that this is the current state, so we could make an informed decision about whether we wanted to book. On the first night we decided to move hotel and booked one further down the road. We (stupidly) paid all up front and so when we tried to cancel the rest of our stay they refused to refund any of the money despite our complaints about the quality. The hotel also recommended a taxi service to and from the airport which overcharged us by about 3x the standard rate, which we later found out at our new hotel. The meals were sparse with very few options, not kept very fresh and you have to go looking for the staff in order to get drinks. None of it is self explanatory so you find this out from watching other guests. We are now in a hotel down the road which is also four stars but is vastly superior! Hotel Bellevue should be 2 stars rather than 4, if that. Photos added of the electrics in our room.

Hotel is a building site and not fit for anyone to go on holiday. The standard of renovations is good however, there is currently no swimming pool, no terrace, no sun beds, no beach and building noise from 4:45 am every day. If you want to buy a drink, you have to hunt down the bar man and there are very few guests in the hotel. Definitely one to be an avoided and its current state.

Please be aware the pool, lake deck and gym are currently closed until 15th June! Arrived to a building site (booked through a well know large travel site who knew in advance and did nothing!) If you are booked here or the metropol you won’t be able to use the pool or the loungers by the lake Disappointing is an understatement as I can forgive a lot but not being able to Enjoy swimming in the lake (rather loud building works!) and the pool in pieces is heartbreaking

Hi, I travelled here for a week with 5 friends, booking with Tui. We had 4 rooms booked for the 6 of us. Our room had the shower fitting hanging off the wall then another day the door handle fell off. The room was quite dated but had everything we needed and a lovely balcony with a view of Lake Ohrid. There are sun loungers near to the lake but be careful as many of the boards near to the lake are broken so many trip hazards. There are steps to get into the lake for swimming, lovely and refreshing. You will need water shoes. There is also a swimming pool but it is freezing. Aqua aerobics was advertised on the website and on a video in reception, but we were told that was last year. There is also a gym available in the hotel next door. Food - the buffet does not have much choice, very bland and nothing really for 1 of our group who is vegetarian. We went on 2 trips with Tui. 1 was a boat trip to the monastery and the bay of bones. The other was a coach trip all around the lake. We visited Pogradec and Lin Village in Albania. Both good days out and not expensive. It is fairly cheap to get a taxi to Ohrid where there are lots of bars and restaurants. A really nice place and a good walk along the coast there. Maybe better to stay nearer to Ohrid, though not all hotels have lake access. This location is quite new to Tui so hopefully things will improve.

A DISASTER. Classic Macedonian low-budget service, for not so low prices. Terribly disorganized staff. Waiting in line for 5 hours in Metropol to enter a room (for a reservation made specifically in METROPOL), only to find out that they changed their reservation to BELLVI. HORROR. In Bellevue - rooms NOT READY, another hour wait. Too bad organization, especially disastrous for seminars and conferences. A huge disappointment. A SHAME for a 4 star hotel.

The good: beautiful lakeside. The bad: This hotel has definitely seen better times. Old Soviet-era building, friendly staff, but limited in what they are allowed to do (in order to help you). the hotel needs a desperate make over. Try to get the rooms on the fifth floor, these are new.

Stayed last week . The location was fantastic right on the lake it exceeded my expectations. Hotel itself is tired but I can imagine in its hayday it was grand. It was very clean though and staff lovely . The air con in the room was awful. I had to sleep with the patio door open and wake just before sunrise to shut it. The food was fine but very much the same everyday. For the cost of the holiday you can’t really complain , but every other night we are out for variety. I would stay here again if I was in the area but because the location is just what we were after . It’s about 10 minutes into Ohrid town itself in a taxi. Cost of living is much cheaper than the uk so the £ goes far .

We requested upon booking that 2 of us are allergic to gluten and response from management was that only bread is unavailable the rest is ok. But reality was completely different, only roasted potatoes were apparently gluten free, we were charged for dinner and we never dine because the food was not gluten free, the manager refused to give money back to us cos the owner doesn’t allow them to do that. Very poor management and it’s very obvious that staff is scared from management because they can fire them straight away. Can’t believe that they charging guests for something that never used.
