Staff were perfectly nice, and the view was incredible, but those are the only good things we can say. The hotel is a building site with noise through the day of drilling, sawing, chainsaws, etc. right next to the pool and the lake. The pool is also surrounded by men working and building materials piled around. Some areas are left in unsafe conditions throughout the day with no warning signs or safety rope, including thin metal bars sticking out of the concrete. We saw children running around and playing next to these, when they could have easily fallen on them and either seriously injured themselves or worse. In addition the rest of the hotel is very out of date and sparse, there is random furniture scattered around the various floors, as if everything is being rearranged. Throughout the hotel and especially in our room there were electrics coming out of the wall or not secured properly. The front desk offered to change our room / send someone to fix but we could see from the rest of the hotel that every room would likely be the same. The aircon also had no effect even when seemingly on full power. The bathroom was dirty and moldy in places, and even after having been 'cleaned' after the first night there were areas that had clearly not been touched. The shower also didn't have any fixing on the wall so you have to hold it with one hand at all times which was quite frustrating. The hotel should have at least warned guests when booking that this is the current state, so we could make an informed decision about whether we wanted to book. On the first night we decided to move hotel and booked one further down the road. We (stupidly) paid all up front and so when we tried to cancel the rest of our stay they refused to refund any of the money despite our complaints about the quality. The hotel also recommended a taxi service to and from the airport which overcharged us by about 3x the standard rate, which we later found out at our new hotel. The meals were sparse with very few options, not kept very fresh and you have to go looking for the staff in order to get drinks. None of it is self explanatory so you find this out from watching other guests. We are now in a hotel down the road which is also four stars but is vastly superior! Hotel Bellevue should be 2 stars rather than 4, if that. Photos added of the electrics in our room.
