Sandals Royal Barbados (Sbr)

Staff is amazing, from Mia at the front desk who helped us get checked in, at royal barbados , to Mellissa who helped us during the storm, David at chi when staff was short made things happen. Zandra with club level on the Barbados side helped us with transportation for photos, Corralle at the jewelry store was helpful as well in assisting us in finding a special diamond sandal souvenir at the beautiful jewelry store on property. We had no reason to leave for 7 days strait. Ps… Those butler clients don’t know what they are missing, each butler should take them by the Columbia jewelry store for that special souvenir.

We had an amazing honeymoon at Sandals Royal Barbados. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved every second! The staff were lovely (shout out to Rajiv from Club Sandals who helped us to book some extras and then would always check we were okay whenever we saw him around the resort, and was really friendly and helpful). The food was incredible, we got reservations at all the restaurants we wanted (suggestion: be organised and go to book on arrival at the hotel to have more chance to fit everything in). The only restaurant we experienced a wait (more than 10 minutes) for a table was Chi Asain Fusion, which we happily waited for on the first occasion and then just tried elsewhere when we went back a different day and found the wait time was 90 minutes, we waited 10 minutes at Bombay instead. The team taking care of the site were always busy, keeping on top of gardening and maintenance, and were just as friendly as the staff directly involved with guest interactions. We always found space to sit around the pool with the swim up bar, or the rooftop pool, with there only being 2 days over the whole trip where we had to go elsewhere to find towels. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and couldn't fault our experience. There are too many staff who made our experience extra special to name individually but we had some amazing interactions with people from the spa, various bars/restaurants, servers at the candlelit dinner on the beach, photographers, shops, Club Sandals, and even just walking around the site. It was amazing. We really loved our time in Barbados, and had the perfect honeymoon.

The pictures on the website do not justify the grounds , meaning the hotel is very outdated! As far as service, some staff were great and some were very nasty! Butler service was not worth it , I found myself working very hard on my vacation to get seats etc. staff were very lazy , there was constantly dirty glasses and plates all over, limited pool towels .. food was pretty good , and there was plenty of entertainment .. for the price I suggest another place , we wish we didn’t go and we will proudly say this is our second trip to a sandals and we will probably never go to one ever again !

We had the best time at Sandals Barbados! The resort grounds were beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were helpful and kind! We went into town to go to Oistins Fish Fry on Friday night and that is a must do! We would definitely go back!

We booked our anniversary trip to the Royal Sandals Barbados. It was our first time at sandals. The resort itself was fantastic and beautiful. The food was amazing. The biggest drawback was the speed of service. It never felt quick. At times at the swim up bar there was 1 bartender and 10-15 people waiting for drinks. We once saw leftover lunch plates by the poolside for hours versus staff taking those plates away so someone could use those lounge chairs. We also got locked out of our swim up suite (housekeeping came when we were out swimming) and they locked our patio doors. I wasn't upset about that, housekeeping was probably trying to keep our valuables safe....however, it felt like forever for security to come let us in as they were on the "other" Sandals resport side. I feel like we waited close to 20 min. It was also hard/difficult to make dinner reservations. When we got there we were only able to book reservations for 1 night out of 5. Lastly-the last day we were there a TON of seaweed washed up on the beach. We though the resort would rake/clean it up or at least some paths so individuals could get to the ocean.....nope. It smelt bad and attracted lots of bugs. Overall it was relaxing and it was fun-would I go again-no.

Our second time at Sandals (the first was in St. Lucia), and it did not disappoint. The suites were clean and well taken care of. The butler service was wonderful, and everyone on the resort was extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurants at both Sandals Barbados and Royal Barbados were wonderful, as always. Our only complaint is that the service at La Parisenne (French restaurant near the rooftop pool) was extremely slow for both breakfast and dinner. Food was still very good, but it took forever for any of the courses to arrive.

Club Level Suite, Crystal Hideaway (St Lawrence) building. Pros: large, clean room, nice gardens, most staff were lovely/friendly. Good choice of pool areas from quiet to lively. Cons: food quality we found to be largely poor, service was very inconsistent and no notice was taken of requests for things like how steak is cooked. There was a lack of towels/robes in rooms, which we had to chase more than once. to get delivered. Noisy dogs woke us up at 6am most days - this is a known problem apparently, although they did move us a few rooms away when we raised the issue it did not solve the problem and we were told they couldn’t move us anywhere else and no compensation was offered. There were no pool towels at all on one day - not ideal and no explanation given. In summary, I’d say this certainly isn’t a terrible hotel, but it is not a true 5 star experience and the advertised “royal service” is not warranted sadly, as several other guests mentioned during our stay. I can’t help but think that the hotel management could take a more active role and solve these issues and this would improve the experience for everyone. Would I return, probably not.

We had an amazing stay at the Royal. We had an issue with our originally booked room but they got us upgraded! The new room was lovely. All the restaurants staff were great, especially Jalissa and Melissa. We did encounter one rude bartender several nights at lovers lane. We did the sunset catamaran cruise and it was an absolute blast. One of the best days on the trip. We also booked a private tour with Ryan. Lastly our shuttle driver Ricardo was fun and a blast!!
