Mukarnas Spa & Resort Hotel

We flew out to Mukarnas on the 2nd November in a group of 3 for a relaxing end of season holiday. The transfer to the hotel is quite lengthy but the hotel its self is immaculate. It’s so clean and looks the part! Check in was really good and they even took our bags to our room for us. Our room was lovely- really spacious, 3 individual beds. The only thing I would say is that our room constantly smelled like sewage that came from the bathroom. Reception did come and check this out but nothing was really resolved and this continued throughout our holiday. The grounds around the hotel are also very nice and picturesque! They have a mini market, tattoo services etc and the spa did look reallly nice although we didn’t go for this as I found the staff were extremely persistent despite saying no a few times they keep on and we started to get a little annoyed with this and purposely chose not to because of the constant begging. The pool area is nice and clean! Loungers available most of the day but I would say that I could imagine it being difficult in high season! There are slides at the resort but I don’t think they were running due to end of season. The pool was absolutely freezing and I only saw 3 or 4 people in it the whole holiday. The indoor pool is advertised at heated but it’s not and that was also really cold. I like they played music by the pool as we went for a relaxing week and it was a nice touch. They also continued the pool activities and would announce lots of things like darts, yoga etc. Food- This was really hit or miss if I’m honest. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of options, and you can tell they put a lot of effort in… but I found it extremely repetitive. It was like a cattle market trying to get food and on times, people would bump into you and you couldn’t even look at half of the options. I wouldn’t even attempt in high season. Drinks were nice- sometimes it didn’t feel there was alcohol in the cocktails. * just to add- myself and my friend also came down with a stomach bug towards the end of our holiday. We thought it was just a coincidence but after reading another review it’s concerning that so many people appeared to be unwell during the same time?* Location- Awful. There was a small shop to the left of the hotel and about a 2/3 minute walk was a coffee shop and a shopping outlet. That was it. No restaurants or bars or anything at all. We walked for miles to see if we could find anything and walked under the main road tunnel (which felt uncomfortable) but again, nothing other than local property. This was such a let down for the hotel as I feel if there was more around in terms of bars and restaurants it would make the stay a 5/5. The location was probably the biggest let down. Beach- there is a pebbled beach at the back of the hotel. It’s very pretty and they have an area to sunbathe with a beach bar etc! Shoes advised! The sunset from here was absolutely beautiful! Went with my finance for our 1 year anniversary after getting engaged last year at the hotel. Valentyna had decorated the room for us which was gorgeous the staff the food everything about this hotel is incredible. Thanks again see you 2025 for I’m sure will be another fantastic holiday.

Second visit to Mukarnas so we was all excited for another fabulous holiday after a brilliant one two years prior! The hotel again was perfect, cannot fault it. Lovely grounds, pools ect. Our room was great. We got a two bedroom family to with us having older teens which was ideal, plenty of room. Beds made and towels changed ever day along with two mini fridges which were regularly stocked with water, juice and Pepsi! The only thing that spoilt our holiday was us all being poorly with sickness and diarrhoea which I’m not blaming the hotel for at all as we’ve no idea where we picked it up from. My daughter was that bad we had to have them change the beds and mop the floors which they did efficiently. Also on the morning of our departure my son left a silver chain on the bedside table (it was dark when we left, our fault for not putting on all the lights and having a good check and it didn’t go in the safe the night before so we wouldn’t forget it! Obviously that didn’t work to plan!) got in touch with the hotel within hours after leaving but they said it wasn’t found. Which is disappointing as if the room would have been cleaned before the next guests so I feel it must have been found and someone has taken it and not handed it in. I would recommend this hotel but keep your valuables in the safe at all time
