Very clean and new hotel. The carpets in the hallways were brilliant - well thought out to make wheeled suitcases easy to pull; also stylish. Bed was super comfortable, AC very effective, room was kept immaculately clean by friendly cleaning staff. Friendly staff served breakfast and in the roof top bar which was amazing, with 360degree views. Dipping pool and sun loungers were well-used; hard to get a lounger in time! Downside: some very odd management decisions. Despite description on Trip there was no cafe, no lunch or dinner and not even bar snacks! I rang on the 2nd day to ask for a bottle of water … response “Madam, this is a 3* hotel. You only get a bottle of water on your first day”!! Bizarre. I was able to buy a $0.99 bottle from the bar for €2.50! Breakfast: the ubiquitous coffee machine producing the most disgusting coffee - I tried all of them! In the end I risked tea and even the hot water had scum on it. I know I was not alone … bacon - HP sauce standing proud like a statue - no sausages, cooked tomato, fried egg etc! Pancakes and waffles - no syrup! Nice fresh bread rolls and croissants. Sliced cheese and packaged ham. Selection of cereals, orange juice and good selection of fruit. After 5 breakfasts I got fed up. WARNING - I was asked to give them my debit card to pay - she wrote down all the details! After I thought - why? I asked why - she said do they could charge me after I left if anything was missing or broken. I was assured this was legal in Portugal! I told them that was what “checkout” was for! I froze my card but I was really angry and when I have time to get a replacement I will need to cancel it! Balcony nice but only looked onto other rooms! Looking down - WHY NO GARDEN???!!! Just rooftops. I recommend a 4 hour boat trip …. Maybe 30m pleasant walk. Also hire bikes and go to the Nature Reserve - don’t miss Roman Salt Pits and beach crabs ….😊

This our fifth stay at this hotel and it never fails to impress. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is exceptional and all the staff are wonderful. The hotel is not by the sea but inland about a 10 minute drive - Faro airport is about 20 minutes away, which makes it a quiet place to relax and unwind. We would recommend eating in the restaurant at night as the menu is varied and beautifully presented. All together an outstanding hotel: a real gem.

It’s a good hotel near everything. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you can find a good deal, it’s definitely recommended. Just the bathroom leaks a lot when showering, which can be annoying if you’re staying many nights.

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel at the start of June 2023 for 5 nights. I cannot be more complimentary about the service we received from reception staff, breakfast staff and the two 'managers'. My wife has limited mobility and would use a wheel chair. Everything possible was done to make her stay as full as possible and our lovely room, at the front of the hotel was full of tech and extremely comfortable. Not a beech hotel but a glorious city break base, and Faro has more to offer than you might think. Many thanks to Ricardo and his team. Apologies if spelling is not perfect.

A very good hotel, it is a palace itself, with a beautiful environment! But the location is slightly off, on a hill. Great view overlooking Faro! The hotel service is very good and the room is very big. We live on the 0th floor. There are often kittens coming outside the big balcony. They are so cute! Clean and comfortable, it is the best hotel we have stayed in in Spain and Portugal. breakfast is also ok! The hotel also has two swimming pools. There is a very thoughtful children's pool that is only 50cm, which is great!

I really enjoyed this hotel. It's a distance from all the faro amenities, but it only a few euros in an Uber to reach the heart of faro. There is a free shuttle bus each morning and evening to take you to and from the faro old town and the beach, but we chose to do things on our own schedule. It was only my son and I who stayed here for 4 nights. We loved how quiet the pool area was, and spent lots of time there. The hotel is basic, but clean and served our needs well. The air conditioning in the room was a must! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly, particularly the lady working at the bar. The hotel was clean, although a little dated. But that didn't bother us. Breakfast wasn't the best I've seen, but we enjoyed what he ate. Quality of food in general was poor. We had dinner by the pool one night, and it was terrible. But that is the only negative of our holiday. We booked the shuttle bus to take us to the airport after check out. This was a seamless process, and it was very helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our few days spent at hotel Monaco.

Suitable for golfing, just 200 meters next to the QDL, the sunset suite is directly facing the golf course, and the view is good, you need a room on the second floor. The service staff are very enthusiastic and meet various needs from car rental, club rental, fixed course, restaurant and so on. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach, and the hotel also has bicycles. Breakfast was good. The only thing is that it is relatively close to the airway, and opening the window during the day will be noisy

This is a lovely hotel. A great location in the hills, beautiful and quiet. Surrounded by orange, lemon and olive trees, with fab views and gardens to sit in quiet corners. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean. The pool area, the same. The animals are a nice touch, with a donkey, some sheep, peacocks and turtles. And cats wandering around the gardens. All of that makes this a nice place to stay. But the star of this hotel, for us, was the restaurant, the quality of the food and the fantastic staff. From the sweetest, juiciest oranges and figs from the gardens for breakfast, to Algarvian fish stew for dinner, to local specialities like Cataplan, the quality of the food is very high. The staff of this hotel are of course very professional, but they also give a lovely personal service. They are so helpful, friendly and kind. Everyone goes the extra mile to make people feel welcome. Special thanks from us go to Pedro, the restaurant manager, and Miguel and Sofia. Making people feel special, as you do, is not easy, but it makes a huge difference to your guests. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

If you're looking for a great place to chill Herdade da Corte is where you need to go. A Rio Grande style and feel about it, surrounded by fabulous hilly views, orange, lemon trees, olive groves, and pure adulterated silence. You hear the whisper of the breeze throughout the outdoor areas which have casual seating dotted about, a sweeping view, and a to die for salt-water pool. If you want 5 star service and a butler this isn't the place for you! Our favourite time of the day was a leisurely hour and half munching our way through the buffet breakfast, consisting of 4 different freshly made juices, a good selection of local produce, bread, rolls, pastries and cake, cheese, cold meats, fruits, yoghurt, and natural cereals - while idly looking out to the hills. There's also an array of teas, and the coffee is via a machine which is good - but goat's milk! We've travelled the world extensively and it's rare to find such a place. If you want to jazz up your time there Tavira is charming, along with Tavira Island. You do need a car if you stay at Herdade and want to visit many areas, however, we had read other reviews and knew that - but we just wanted to relax there and do nothing! We stayed 4 days and did venture out 1 afternoon to a restaurant in St Luzia. Local taxi, very nice driver. 20 euro each way (same prices to Tavira) about 15 minutes journey. The owners Joao and Francisco are cool, interesting guys, very helpful, and knowledgeable about the area , local produce, wines, and activities to do there - hiking, etc. Good massage also available in relaxing room. €50 Personally speaking, we dossed (an English word for lazing about) around the pool , helping ourselves to the well-stocked honesty bar, with the occasional beer/glass of wine, absorbed in a few good crime novels. Please note: after breakfast there is NO food available until 7pm. We knew that and brought along our own snacks, nuts etc. The evening menu is mainly cold, very good local produce - oh, please try the prawns (they hot). We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay - couldn't fault anything. My husband arrived completely knackered (another old-school word for tiredness) and after almost 4 days rooted to the place said he felt like the Six Million Dollar Man! Rating by the door was a one star but should be rated a bit higher. Was given a 3) bed room (3 x twin beds) which was ok, except the 3rd bed took up precious room space. Room was clean, shower was clean, entire hotel appeared clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking was available. Hotel is near the road but did not notice any undue noise at night. Hotel has a nice patio and a pool. Vending machines are available on property. Close enough to Tavira town to walk, just need to navigate the roundabout carefully. Walking in the middle of summer may not be advisable though. Room had a well functioning and quiet A/C. A small refrigerator was available. Breakfast was good and included in the room rate. The pastries were very good. Also available was a variety of breads, jams, some cold cuts and cheese and a bowl of chunky fruits. Coffee (machine) was somewhat typical of the area, coffee came out either too strong or too weak. Ended up using the black setting and adding my own milk. It's a bit odd that the traditional coffee milk available in most northern European countries was not available. 3 types of juices were dispensed from the machine with the orange being the best. Scrambled eggs smelled a bit fishy, also somewhat typical of the area, believe it is due to chickens being fed fish meal. There was a restaurant attached to the hotel specializing in rotisserie chicken, not sure if the restaurant was part of the hotel or independent. Price was very reasonable. Only complaint would be that meals are often served with only boiled or french fried potatoes, and lettuce with tomato salad. If visiting Tavira head to Santa Luzia and A Casa restaurant and try the grilled Octopus.
