Great family experience. I read all the reviews and was worried that the room had no attached bath, emailed the hotel with all the questions I had and made all the preparations for my kids. Lord and behold I was assigned THE ROOM with attach bath right next to the Onsen! It was incredible for a family of four. They have a common toilet as well so if the one in the room is occupied, I just walk out to the common one that is well maintained. The staff here speaks good English and were extremely helpful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner at the one and only restaurant here were incredible. While they do not have a wide variety, they made it up with the quality! Delicious is an understatement! Ask the receptionist everything and seek their advise on everything you want to do. They will tell you the best timings and areas to experience the most bunnies! Their weather forecast is spot on too. The only downside is the room smell of bunny food, but this is expected as this island is basically about bunnies!

This is a wonderful hotel, unfortunately we were put into the smallest room, one that was so small and filled with unusable furniture that there was no space for one guest let alone two. Getting around meant one person had to stay on the bed while the other crawled to the sink or shower room. The room was so tiny that staying in it was a constant source of tension, the kind of tension that can ruin a vacation. It was so small, it was almost impossible to step into the room and move aside so you could close the door behind you. There is a similar problem maneuvering into the shower. So if you want to stay in this hotel definitely ask not to be put in room 214. It's torture. Management would do well to remove the bed, the nightstand, the chair (which cannot be used because it has to be crammed so close to the small bed), and the small table next to the chair that also cannot be used. Replace the furniture with tatami, futons and a couple of pads to sit on. Now, moving on from the agitation of being sentenced to Room 214, this hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel and the Onomichi train station share the same building -- a brand new building -- so as soon as you step off the train, you're at your hotel. Also, the building is completely soundproof. You will not hear or feel trains rumbling by or any noise from the bus and car traffic from in front of the hotel. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, not just high ceilings but vaulted ceilings, which I'm sure would have felt luxurious had we not been stuck in Room 214. The rooms also have high windows that give you a lot of ambient light and, I'm sure, great views from some of the rooms. Before being pointed to your room, you are brought to an amenity counter and allowed to take as many packets of luxury face washes, night creams and other cosmetics as you desire. A N'espresso machine and coffee capsules await you in your room. Once again, this is a wonderfully charming and modern hotel in a wonderfully charming and funky city. We plan to return to Onomichi when it is not so hot -- and stay in this hotel. But we'll ask for a larger room.

Stayed 1N. This is a very small hotel. It is located facing the water and beautiful sakura trees. The lobby is located at the back street and the restaurant is at the front of the building. Check-in was quick and the front desk personnel were hospitable. I was assigned a room facing the water and the sakura trees which were in full bloom. The room is typically small by Japanese standards. Only 1 small hard pillow, firm bed. Strong Wifi signal. Breakfast was a semi-buffet - the mains came in a tray and the breads, cereal and juices were self-service. The owner is an elderly gentleman who took the trouble to meet and greet guests at breakfast. No on-site onsen. You'll need to take a taxi to the nearest bathhouse.

The room was clean, and I was highly aware of corona infection prevention, and I felt relieved. The sea and islands 々 spreading all over the window of the room never got tired of looking at it. Thanks to the delicious meal in the restaurant Kairi private room with a view of the fishing port and the hospitality of the staff, I also played a talk with my family who met Ku 々. It was correct to take an open-air bath on the roof immediately after early check-in, and I was able to enjoy the extraordinary while feeling the wind in Setouchi slowly by myself. I also liked the deck of the hotel facing the sea, felt the sea breeze, heard the rust, and went out to relax many times. Even after checking out, I stopped by after walking around the town of Tsurunoura and sightseeing, and I was able to relax until the shuttle bus time at 2 in the afternoon. It was very easy to access by shuttle bus from Fukuyama Station on the Shinkansen 30 minutes. It was an inn that I wanted to visit again.

Stayed 4 nights in semi-double room. Room is located a couple minutes outside the train and bus station but we had a little trouble finding it since part of the facade was covered for renovation work. It is a grand, old-fashioned hotel but it is well-maintained and nice that the ”old” touches are still there (telephone in the bathroom, coasters for drink glasses). Positives: room was large and functional. I believe all the rooms that face the castle are even larger. There was plenty of space for our luggage and it was great to have a decent table as well as a desk space to work from. Wired internet and wifi worked well. We tried both the Japanese and the breakfast buffet - both delicious. As other reviews have noted, the French toast is especially scrumptious! Also nice that the breakfast lasts a little longer than in most hotels. Negatives: old-fashioned but most of Fukuyama seems from the same era. Housekeeping was generally excellent but on one day, our room hadn't been made up and it was already 3:30 pm. Overall, a great place to stay in Fukuyama.

The location is very good, very close to Fukuyama, next to the Fresta supermarket, near the department store, the hostel has a large bath for free, the price is cheap, the price is very high, the staff is also kind, and the luggage can be stored on the same day. The hotel was clean and the amenities were substantial and I could go lightly. When I went without bringing a free hair iron, I was told that I was renting out for two days I was staying, and I couldn't use it after all. When I made a reservation on the net, I made a reservation in the first grader of elementary school, but the bed was not walled, and it was impossible to move because it was a fairly large bed. I had adult clothes and slippers, but the children were not prepared to go to the lobby. I didn't have a child's pillow and I applied for an adult, but I thought that there was a child's pillow on the net, and it was too insufficient to prepare for the child. The child's breakfast fee was charged by adding it from the online reservation fee, and I was confused because I didn't know what the plus fee was. Luggage storage after check-out was saved.

El Mochilero is a five star hostel, it is clean, there is more than ample space in the rooms, each guest has access to her /his own locker with it's own key where you will find several towels folded in a the manner of five star hotels in a very cute basket, there are also earplugs in each basket. The room I was staying in had four beds and there are two other rooms on the second floor. Very clean bathrooms with a bathtub. But what sets El Mochilero apart from other hostels is that it is family owned by a warm, caring and hospitable family.I felt right at home with Senora Carolina, su mother and her brother Percy.I was hosted as a member of the family and this will stay with me. There is a hearty breakfast served in the morning with orange juice and coffee that will sustain you through the day. I cannot thank enough this family for the way I have been hosted. And I hope to see them again.
GGuest UserI spent a night here with my gf and it was a marvelous experience. They offer a luxurious dinner and breakfast experience that uses locally caught seafood and ingredients that will made your stay very pleasant. Located in a quiet area away from the city's hustle and bustle but still within walking distance from the local station and seaport. The staff were very hospitable and very thoughtful. The room offered a traditional Japanese bathroom with a tub made from cypress that gives a pleasant aroma when bathing. It has a nice outdoor view that you can enjoy from comfort of your own bathtub. The rooms a nicely appointed and have a 5-star experience that you can only experience at this ryokan. I would definitely recommend staying here if you ever visit Onomichi!
Ssayhello3I used a female-only dormitory this time, but it was clean and the futon was fluffy. The two directions are full windows and the view is outstanding. Since I went to the public bath, I didn't use the shower, but the kitchen was clean and very cute. There is an attached cafe as a common space, but it is comfortable and customers can bring it in. With a cup of tea brewed in the kitchen, I was able to relax while enjoying the scenery. The only difficulty I felt was that the stairs were tight when I inadvertently drank in the shopping district and went home. .. ..
Bella Vista Spa & Marina Onomichi is a small luxury resort hotel with just 44 total rooms. This area is known for ship building; the original property served as a serviced guest house for people involved in the industry beginning in 1973. The present property was established in 2007, offering rooms with ocean views and a spa. The property grounds is quite vast - it's perched on a hill overlooking the stunning Seto Inland Sea and the Bella Vista Marina at the water's edge. There are walkways throughout that offer nice vantage points by which to appreciate the scenic beauty of this area of Japan. The outdoor terrace stretches directly from the main indoor common area and has uninhibited views of the Seto Inland Sea. In the middle of the terrace is a stretch of water that appears to flow directly into the ocean (even though the Ocean is quite a ways away) - the water is less than 10cm deep and isn't meant for swimming; it's strictly for show, and it's probably the most Instragrammable aspect of the resort. And, especially in the Summer time, you'll have the ability to enjoy the infinity pool as well as partake in numerous activities (both onsite and outside the property), such as a beach BBQ and island hopping. There's also a ribbon chapel on the property grounds that has won numerous design awards, and I'd imagine that it would serve as a wonderful venue for weddings. In the resort itself, there's a nice spa facility as well as three different restaurants serving Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine (using local ingredients and recipes.) We stayed in the Panorama Terrace Suite, which was quite large 100m² and the third from the top category room at Bella Vista. The best room is the Bella Vista Maisonette Spa Suite, but we passed on it because we generally avoid Maisonette-style layouts, while The Bella Vista is similar to the Panorama Terrace Suite, except that it has it has an open air bath with a view of the Ocean; The Bella Vista was already booked when we tried to reserve it. While our room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean, it was showing its age somewhat. It could probably benefit from a refurbishment within the next few years, especially given the room rates that they charge here. There is a dearth of power outlets as well, which is further evidence that it was built more than a decade ago. The room has a stand-alone bath tub, but it's not Onsen (natural hot springs.) In fact, there's no longer Onsen anywhere on site - supposedly, Onsen stopped flowing about 7 years ago, and that was that. It's a shame, given that there is ”Spa” in the property's name, but a Japanese Spa resort without Onsen is a bit of a misnomer if you ask me. Not their fault, but them's the facts. Dining wise, Bella Vista offers 3 options - Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine. All three of the restaurants serve dishes using the very best of local ingredients from both land and sea. We had dinner at Erretegia, the Basque-Japanese restaurant, and it w
GGuest UserThe room is very good, clean, there is a bathtub, the facilities are newer, the location is in the city center, there is a JR pass, you can take the orengejr sightseeing bus directly to the jr station. Breakfast restaurant is particularly good
JJIAYINSuper recommended. The location is very good, very close to the mountains and the sea, in the commercial street. The room we booked feels like it can live in two large and two small rooms. The hot spring is small and exquisite, and it is open to the public, but there are not many people. There are also optional shampoo conditioners and homemade smoothies are also fun. There are not many dishes in the restaurant downstairs, but every dish is delicious. I ate it all night. The parking lot is 990 a night, the one directly opposite the hotel.
Nnanako1246It is a retro with a fragrance of Showa. But very convenient location to go anywhere. The station is within walking distance, and the rapeway is also nearby, and the food shop is satisfactory. Onomichi Ramen was next door, but unfortunately Friday was a regular day. When I checked out the next day, I saw a line before the opening. It is a business hotel, so it is small, but I was happy because there was a shelf that was easy to use. Also, there is a free smartphone, and I think it is a very generous service for foreigners. There was a free parking lot in the first order and it was saved for morning sightseeing because it was left until 11:00 in the morning. The staff was light 々, but it was kind to press the button of the slow elevator or lend me an umbrella when I saw it, and it was surprisingly pleasant. I thought I would like to work hard because there is no such hotel in 々 now.
