The Boathouse

A very warm welcome from Mike who manages the establishment. Our room was called Treasure of the Broads. It was beautifully decorated, a huge modern bathroom with rain shower over the top of it. We had a meal in the evening and although we hadn’t booked prior to arrival and they were fully booked Mike had no issue with finding us a table with a great view of the Broads. We would definitely return again in the future. The atmosphere of the pub is relaxed but very professional. Credit to the Chef. A wedding was taking place on the day we arrived but this didn’t cause us any noise related issues and we enjoyed watching from afar! All staff and Mike couldn’t do enough for us and we were offered a late departure which we kindly accepted. A shame we couldn’t have stayed longer but a good excuse to return! Beautiful surroundings, it’s a lovely place to go at any time of the year. Superb food and plenty of it. You couldn’t wish for better staff as they are so friendly as well as being very professional. We are already looking forward to our next visit!.

Turned up at 6:50 for a 7:00pm booking, table wasn’t ready left at the bar to order drinks. Barman never acknowledged us for the 10 minutes we were stood at the bar. Other female staff behind the bar asked if they could help and we explained we would line to order drinks to which they replied they couldn’t do that as it was the barman’s jog. Waited again another 10 mins and finally got our drinks. We were then we’re asked if we could sit at our table so that I order could be taken. We explained that we couldn’t do that as our table wasn’t ready!! We we’re finally given a table at 7:30 and ended up going up to the bar at 8:00pm asking someone if they could take our order. Not the service we expected from here, really disappointed!!

Excellent food , beautiful surroundings, friendly staff , its our second visit and diffently won't be the last..really good value for money . Can't wait to return . My partner and I call it our special place !

Usually pretty good but not on the last visit was not acknowledged at all by members of staff we took a friend with us we had been raving about the place but we was made to look stupid as service was awful 😖 I went to order at the bar then was told they would come over that again took ages then I had to get my own drinks from the bar and yet again waited a long time for our next drinks my plate had chips all around it and my dish was also dissopointing felt very let down

The Boathouse is a bar/restaurant with Wedding & Conference facilities plus a large free car park all in a most idyllic location on Ormesby Broad. They have 4 double rooms upstairs where we stopped for two nights En Suite Room. In reviewing hotels we look for the extra touches which say a lot for the owners. Quality towels, heated (controllable) towel rail, air con with easy to understand adjustment, quilted toilet rolls, shaving mirror, nice toiletries, tea/coffee with biccies, flat screen TV with text & sub titles enabled, safe, hairdryer, ample drawers & wardrobe, comfy bed with bedside drawer unit & light, windows which open fully & the “piece de resistance” a combined shoe horn & clothes brush. To top it all the bathroom has a sensor light to prevent stumbling round in the dark looking for the light switch. All in evidence at The Boathouse. Bar/Restaurant. There is a well stocked bar and our experience of breakfast & dinner was top notch. There was a comprehensive menu , food came quickly, was hot and well presented. Don't dismiss this as just a Pub with rooms. The accommodation is lovely. The rooms are quiet and well appointed. Our Host, Mike, was welcoming and attentive as were all the members of staff we came in contact with. The food was of good quality, well cooked and presented. A truly lovely experience on every level.

We booked a 1 night stay, as we were visiting Horsey Gap to see the seals, so wanted a hotel close by. We were met by the friendliest manager I think I've ever met, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Treasure of the Broads room, which was beautifully decorated, with a big ensuite bathroom, containing a HUGE bath, which was lovely. The room had a view of the broad. We paid £12.95 each for breakfast, which was delicious and worth the money. The selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room was great.

Never fails in hospitality, service , excellent food and the views are to die for xx just love this beautiful place xxx can't wait for our stay here In March . Michael and his team are the very best xx thankyou
