Gardena Grödnerhof - Hotel & Spa

Wow! We absolutely loved this hotel! The 3 night stay couldn’t have been better. This hotel is a family run hotel and we were greeted by the 4th generation daughter who was delightful. Actually, everyone who worked there was amazing, from Simon the concierge, also family, to Walter, who makes the restaurants even more special. The hotel is 5 star, and we stay in many of the finest hotels in the world. Our room was just renovated and was perfect, with all the latest amenities. Actually, the entire hotel seemed brand new. We had reservations in town for dinner, but after one night and sampling the food in the hotel, we changed plans and ate in the hotel dining rooms as the grilled meats and fondue were excellent. I am so glad we experienced the Gardena Grodnerhof and I would strongly recommend it to all travelers in the Ortesei area.

An experience I’ll never forget. I loved everyone about Ortisei and this hotel. An architectural masterpiece, open spacious and spotless. Perfect location to walk into town which is amazing. The staff at the hotel was accommodating and genuinely nice. Quiet , relaxing , spa, pool all at a quiet and elegant pace. It’s pricey but that what probably keeps it as upscale engaging as it is. If I’m back here , and I will, I will be at this hotel

Stayed for 2 nights, wished we had stayed longer. Very central positioned hotel to explore Ortisei. Car parking was done by the staff, welcome drinks on arrival courtesy of the hotel. Rooms were beautiful, but the shower/bath was not worthy of a 5 star hotel, elderly will struggle. The spa was amazing, grounds are beautiful, lovely to have a drink outside. Breakfast was fantastic, huge choice. We loved our stay, would love to come back in the winter.

We came here for lunch after a hike at Seceda Ridgeline Trail. We ordered bolognese and pesto gnocchi with a shared burata caprese. It was absolutely perfect. Beyond perfect. The bolognese flavor was great and the pasta perfectly al dente, the basil gnocchi was beautiful to see in its presentation and tasted perfect with the gnocchi really being like little pillows. The server, Anna was really lovely and the sommelier suggested a great Rose and Red for us. This is a must locale when visiting Ortesei. Bravo to the chef, the hotel owners and all.

This was our third stay and if anything the hotel and staff are even more exceptional. The rooms are large and comfortable. The spa is amazing. The staff is incredible. Special shout-out to the ski concierge Heinrich - he couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. The restaurants are excellent, especially Anna Stuben and 4 Sajons. The bar and lounge area has après ski snacks and dinner is available there as well. The hotel is well located for easy access to town and buses; they will also shuttle you to the Alpe di Siusi and Seceda lifts.

Our stay at Gardena Grödnerhof was simply exceptional. Everything about the experience was outstanding; from the elegance of the hotel to the warmth and professionalism of the staff. The location in the heart of the Dolomites is breathtaking, and the attention to detail throughout the property truly reflects the level of a world-class Relais & Châteaux hotel. The food was extraordinary. Every meal felt thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The dining experience alone is worth the visit. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the service. The entire team was attentive, kind, and incredibly professional. A special mention must go to Simone, the concierge, whose level of care and dedication was simply the best service I have experienced in any hotel anywhere in the world. Nothing was too much trouble, and every request was handled with efficiency, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Gardena Grödnerhof is a place where excellence is evident in every detail. We are deeply grateful for such a memorable stay and look forward to returning.

Our stay at Gardena Grödnerhof was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived until departure, everything was perfectly executed. The room was immaculate, extremely clean and beautifully maintained. The location of the hotel is ideal: peaceful yet right in the heart of the charming village of Ortisei. Ortisei is truly a wonderful destination and we will definitely return. The hotel’s position within the village is simply perfect. Breakfast is fantastic and very extensive. The main restaurant serves excellent cuisine of a very high standard. The presence of the Michelin-starred Anna Stuben is a remarkable addition to the overall experience — a true culinary highlight not to be missed. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. From reception to bar, from restaurants to housekeeping — everyone makes you feel genuinely welcome and at home. Warm, professional and sincerely friendly service throughout. The spa and restaurant areas have recently been beautifully updated in Alpine style. It would be lovely to see the bar brought into the same design concept, as it differs slightly from the rest of the hotel. That said, the service there is equally warm and attentive. After a day of skiing, a generous snack buffet awaits you upon return — such a thoughtful touch. Ski rental within the hotel is perfectly organised, with an extremely friendly attendant. The driver who takes guests to the gondola in Ortisei is incredibly helpful, even assisting with ski equipment. This is true five-star service. The hotel shuttle runs throughout the entire day without strict time limitations — outstanding and truly distinguishing compared to many other properties. The laundry service deserves special mention: clothes dropped off in the late afternoon were already freshly washed and returned to our room by the time we came back from dinner. We have never experienced such efficiency. Everything you read in the positive reviews is more than accurate. During our stay, we met guests who have been coming here for twenty years, and many who return annually. That speaks volumes about the consistency and quality of this hotel. In short: a genuine five-star-plus experience from beginning to end. This hotel excels in service, warmth and quality. We will absolutely return.

My wife and I travel often and tend to favor Relais & Châteaux properties. The Gardena Hotel is certainly the very best we’ve experienced. Our Superior room was nicely designed, very comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The overall facilities are excellent, especially the spa, which was a wonderful place to unwind after skiing. Dining at the Gardena Restaurant was consistently outstanding, and we also enjoyed one dinner at the Four Seasons, which offers a more relaxed but equally enjoyable atmosphere. Most impressive of all was the staff. Over the course of our eight-night stay - skiing all but one day - we were met with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality throughout. It was a terrific trip, and we would happily return.

We've stayed at the Hotel Gardena Grodnerhof more than we've stayed at any. other hotel over the past 20 years. We love it. There are many reasons that we love it which include the quaint location, amazing customer focus, excellent food and ambience, and the overall warm connection that the staff has to guests. Most fortunately and importantly, my family and I have spent enough time at the hotel to have formed great friendships with the owners and the staff. And, those relationships keep us coming back 3-4 times per year to experience the unique and special Dolomites, the culture and food of Val Gardena, and the warm and exquisite hospitality of this family-run hotel. It is my favorite place to be other than being in my home. That says it all.
