Nice view and great room with free parking but food at the hotel’s restaurant could be improved. Overall, it’s a nice stay.

Our trip was 18 days (incl. travel) and we stayed in 8 places across N. Italy and Tuscany. This was one of the last places we stayed, only stayed one nite (we originally planned to stay 3 nites but we couldn't work that out...Altarocca staff was very flexible to work with) and had to leave too early to have breakfast in the morning, so I can't speak to that. The room we rented was a very reasonable price and it was huge, with rooms on 2 floors, including a shower and bathroom downstairs and sauna, bathtub and shower upstairs in the bedroom. It was AWESOME. The (2) pool areas were very nice plus we had a relatively private outdoor patio outside our room where we were able to catch some late afternoon sun. It is located 15 to 20 mins outside of Orvieto ($25 euros each way by taxi) up on a hilltop, but that gave it a nice sense of exclusion. We had a couples massage and that was very relaxing. I can't recall any specifics about the meal (too many restaurants over too many days), but I believe we were happy with it and enjoyed their wine also. This place was a great value, would go back in a heartbeat, hopefully for a 2 to 3 days stay.

we picked this hotel last minute while on the train back to Rome, and couldn’t be more pleased. We got the wellness suite which included a sauna Turkish bath and hot tub. It was very close to the pool, which was also very nice with a bar for drinks. we had dinner at the restaurant and was very pleased. Breakfast was also good. We each had a massage and only complaint is that the deep tissue was more like rubbing on sunscreen on my back I wish they would’ve put some pressure in the massage.

The rooms are nice and comfortable and the views are great. The food and wine are not good at all. Wouldn’t be a big deal but they advertise as a wine resort. The hotel restaurant food is not good which is disappointing since there are so many great restaurants in town. If you’re staying for a night the hotel is good just don’t eat here or order their wine.
