Lupaia is a very special place. Our stay was exceptional . The staff unobtrusively catered to every possible request. Each meal was an experience and the setting was beyond description. A little piece of heaven. We will definitely return.

Lupaia is one of the finest hotels we have stayed in. We were cycling through Tuscany and stayed at 12 different hotels over a 2 week period, and Lupaia was by far the best - better than more expensive “luxury” hotels such as Borgo Banfi, Castel Monastero and San Felice. The welcome was charming, and our garden room, despite being the least expensive category, was fabulous with a large private garden and stunning views. Food was delicious and served with superb efficiency by the lovely team. The pool and grounds were beautifully maintained, and everything was in great taste. In style and ethos it reminded me of another favourite hotel - Borgo Santo Pietro. We’d love to stay longer next time!

It was truly the best stay I’ve had in Italy so far and I can’t wait to return. The peaceful atmosphere, the attention to detail, the beautiful room, the kindest staff, and most importantly the quality of food. It was all amazing and I can’t wait to come back new year! Thank you Lupaia and team, Alessio, Silvio, Fabio, Gabriella, Victorio. You all were amazing.

Beautiful property, beautiful rooms, and excellent food. Lupaia makes it so you do not want to leave to venture out. It was so special being there. We first stayed in room Serra then changed to Oliva because of booking availability. Both rooms were great.

Lupaia is an extraordinary hotel in every sense of the word: the location, the views, the rooms, the service, the food, and even the ever watchful Lupaia feline mascot, Olive, who charmed and endeared us during our several unforgettable days at Lupaia. We felt so fortunate to discover and experience a place like this, and we would be all the more lucky if we are ever able to return. If you have the chance to enjoy Lupaia, don't miss the opportunity—it's "once in a lifetime" in every way. Thank you to the hosts for creating such a marvelous place, and to Fabio and his team for making our stay so wonderful and memorable.

Lupaia was an incredible experience. It has stunning views in every direction. The staff shows the utmost care and attention to service. The food is out of this world. We ended up eating dinner at the hotel every night because it was so good. I recommend a 4 wheel drive rental car because the gravel drive is steep and narrow in areas. I’m already planning when I can return.

Lupaia is unlike any place we've ever stayed. There's luxury... and then there's Lupaia. I'm honestly hesitant to write a review because selfishly, I want to keep this gem one of my husband and my secrets. There isn't a single thing about Lupaia we didn't love... the room had INCREDIBLE views on every side. The bed was comfortable. Every single amenity imaginable was thought of. The grounds were gorgeous. The team treated us like family. We stayed at some amazing places in Italy, but Lupaia was the only one we were seriously SAD to leave. We've already told friends we need to go back with them. There's just a magic there in everything they do. Constantly surprising us with touches that made us feel so welcome and cared for. Thank you, Team Lupaia, for our wonderful stay -- our only regret is that it wasn't longer!

I don't typically write negative reviews, but a balanced review would be helpful for anyone considering a stay at Lupaia. If I had known the following, we would not have stayed here. We were very much looking forward to our stay at Lupaia, but it was the low point of our almost 3 week trip to Italy. Sadly, it lacks the warmth of Italian hospitality we have found at all other hotels we have ever stayed at in Italy, including city hotels. I don't fault the people working there, they were obviously trying very hard to do their job well. Instead, it obviously originates with the ownership management practices and trickles down from there. Pros: Food: was the standout positive for the stay and for which I have given a star. We dined here one evening and each course was truly delectable. Andrea was in the kitchen that evening, as well as Giselle. One afternoon, we participated in a prearranged private cooking class with Giselle. She was a very good teacher for both my novice husband as well as myself, an experienced cook. The class was well prepared, flowed smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we made. ***one thing to note, this is a "private 2 person class" for a set price even if only 1 person wants to participate. I had hoped to join a class with another guest, but they do not provide that option. As a result, my husband agreed to join me instead. View: we reserved a "Panoramic View" suite (Suite Montepulciano) and the view of Montepulciano was beautiful (the only positive about our accommodations) Cons: Room: while the view was beautiful, the room was rustic, very damp (even though it was a 2nd floor room) and had bugs. When we were shown to our room, we were given an apparatus to plug into the wall to "help with the bugs". We didn't use it being uncertain what the emitted chemical might be. We were told it was being provided because of the rain prior to our arrival. During our entire stay we did not experience any mosquitos (if that was the concern) anywhere, even while sitting outside on our porch. But we did see spiders and centipedes in our room. As stated before, our room was very damp. We were traveling for 3 weeks, so I was doing some hand washing of items along the way. I washed my yoga pants, towel dried them and hung them openly in our living room. Over the course of 3 days, they did not dry (elsewhere, they dried overnight) Private Onsite Wine Tasting: I do not recommend scheduling their private wine tasting in their cantina. We enjoy wine and were looking forward to learning more about the wines from Montepulciano especially given the location. The 5 wines offered were very simple wines, only 1 of which was from Montepulciano. In addition, the gentleman conducting the tasting was not able to answer many of our questions. Instead of this tasting, I would recommend a tasting either in the town of Montepulciano or at the Enoteca la Fortezza in Montalcino. You can refer to my review for the Enot

We happened upon this jewel as a referral from a friend. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed we were in awe of this property. Being in the hospitality and events industry myself, I am sometimes hard to impress but from the staff, to the guest rooms and special touches (they thought of everything) , the meticulously kept grounds (the pool, the incredible views, the beautiful bar and restaurant, etc), and the amazing dining experience, this may have been the best stay of my 30+ years of traveling. My husband and I enjoyed most everything Lupaia had to offer and the staff was there to be sure we were well taken care of. They make everyone feel special and are there when needed. We went wine tasting, drove to the nearby towns and it was a fabulous adventure. We are already discussing our next trip back, 3 days was not enough! Thank you to Fabio, Christine, Emma, Silvio, Daniel and the entire staff...job well done.
