It’s around 13 minutes walk from JR Otaru Station, if you have luggage, just get a taxi to go there, only take around 5 minutes. This hotel is just too cute, a vintage vibe, lovely welcome drinks in classical lobby. My room is for single person, small but it’s fine. Japanese breakfast is amazing. You can have a canal view while you’re having breakfast. They provide free onsen or paid private onsen (2500 yen for 50 minutes). It’s a good stay.

Service and food was above expectation. Lovely ryokan, really enjoyed the private bath in the room and the breakfast and dinner were amazing quality. Highly recommended and will definitely be back

It's full of antique style. You can even have a private bath in the tatami room. The service is excellent. In the morning, you can see the Otaru Canal directly from the window.

Across the canal is the view printed on the new 10,000 yen. It is recommended to stay in a room with a balcony. You can go out to the balcony to play in the snow. There is a free food area on the first floor, as well as a massage chair reading area, which is very neat.

If I get a chance, I would like to visit this place again in the winter. It is a good distance to walk from Otaru Station with a carrier. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff welcomed me from the entrance and helped me carry my luggage while I checked in. I didn't request dinner so I couldn't eat it, but breakfast didn't have many options, but it had all the necessary menus, and it was set up neatly, which was impressive. And the milk was especially delicious. The day we went was the last day of the Otaru Ushio Matsuri, so there were fireworks. I couldn't see it from outside, so I asked if I could see the fireworks well from my room, and they told me that the hotel rooftop was open from 8 o'clock, so I was able to see the beautiful fireworks there. Also, the facilities were old, but they felt well-maintained, and the bedding was very soft and nice in the tatami room. And most of all, I liked that the check-out time was 12 o'clock. I was able to enjoy the hot spring leisurely in the morning. The lounge had a nice retro atmosphere, but it was a bit disappointing that I couldn't enjoy it. You can see the Otaru Canal right in front of you. This is the accommodation that allowed me to make good memories in Otaru.

I checked in on July 27th. I was very satisfied with the hotel facilities and breakfast. And above all, the hotel staff were very kind. I would especially like to praise the staff member whose name has the character "田" in it. Thanks to him, I plan to stay at this hotel again.

At the end of my trip, I wanted to enjoy Otaru leisurely, so I decided to stay one night and chose this accommodation. I can still feel the relaxation I had while looking at the most beautiful scenery of the Otaru Canal from the canal view room. I also loved the open-air hot springs where I could relieve the fatigue of my travels, so I went there both in the evening and early in the morning. Thanks to this, I walked along a quiet canal without people. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly. The only thing is that we chose a tatami room, but there was a smell of old straw? The same thing came out. It's okay because you get used to it over time, but you can feel it when you first open the door. It's been so long since I remember other ryokans, but I'm not sure if the tatami rooms were originally like that.

This stay was a great experience, they provided attentive service and the hot spring facilities were excellent. The flavors of dinner and breakfast are unforgettable. They also served delicious hot onion soup and wine before dinner, and hot wine and snacks for late night snacks. Sitting in the lounge area enjoying these delicacies while listening to music is really a happy feeling. This hot spring hotel is a place I would very much like to stay at again.

This hotel is highly recommended if you are thinking of staying at least one day in Otaru. Although it is small, it has all the necessary facilities and even has an open-air bath filled with lemons. Since the canal is right in front, it is possible to take private photos when it is not crowded with tourists. The people running the place were very friendly and nice.
