love staying usually at Staybridge but we needed a place in Ottawa so we booked with IHG. We arrived, got our room key and left without going to our room to get dinner. Upon our return we went up and I needed to use the restroom. I went into the bathroom and there was toilet paper in the bowl, it looked used and when I tried to flush it (those power flush toilets) the handle was down and it wouldn't flush or move. I tried to call the front desk and immediately got put on hold. Waited several minutes and hung up. Called back and he tried to put me on hold again but I stated the issue and that I'd been on hold once. He stated he'd get housekeeping to come take a look. I had to go down to use the lobby restroom at this point so I ran into a maintenance person/housekeeping? In the elevator who was a very nice man so I asked him if he was going to our room for the toilet issue and he said he hadn't been told about it but he said it happened all the time and he'd be right there. After my return to the room the phone rang from the front desk, and I told him I'd spoken with housekeeping. He stated that we could wait or change rooms. We decided to change rooms. We had to gather all of our luggage, traipse back to the lobby and exchang keys. He stated he'd give me 1,000 bonus points for my trouble. Breakfast had great options and the housekeeping gentleman was very nice. The seating option of the chaise was extremely bad. The design is not comfortable. Staybridge sofa with chaise is much better. Upon viewing my points for this stay I see no 1,000 bonus points that he promised. I won't be back. Staybridge or Marriott from now on.
