Hotels near Carp Cabin, Ottawa

We just stayed for 1 night, the room was clean and comfortable. 25$ for overnight parking was a bit much I felt. The location is not the best for a Saturday/Sunday since it is an office area and almost everything around in walking distance is closed, just Tim Hortons and Startbucks is open.

This hotel is perfectly located for a stay in Ottawa, being a short 800 metre stroll to the Parliament Buildings, War Memorial, National Arts Centre, Rideau Mall, and very close to the National Garllery of Art and Byward Market . We stayed in Room 2223 which afforded a breath taking view of the entire Ottawa Skyline - treat yourself to this Executive King Corner Room. Breakfast at Spin in the Hotel was very good, and priced fair. In/Out Parking on site is also fair and convenient. The hotel was built in 1972 but is well maintained and kept super clean. BIG shout out to MARK at the Front Desk who is absolutely so Personable and went above and beyond the call of duty for us. And of course...CARSON, what can I say, he is the Manager that all Managers should strive to be, very very accomodating! Thanks Ottawa Marriott...we'll be back soon!!!

We stayed in this hotel during our visit to Ottawa, surprisingly the rooms are quiet big. We got a twin queen size beds that could fit 4 people. There was a fridge in the room, which is a bonus. The bed was so comfy to my liking. The toilet was also huge and the shower was powerful. The cleanliness of the hotel and room was also good. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. Although, during check in there was some mistake from the receptionist, we requested few months ago a connecting room as were travelling with the family, but then she give the connecting room to other guest just 3 minutes upon we arrive. I think thats the only downside. There was a swimming pool in the hotel, but it's also under renovation that time. We were told we can use the neighboring hotels pool as complimentary, which few blocks away to walk. So we didnt use it. For the breakfast its not included on the prize, but you can purchase it in the hotel. It was actually a good breakfast and tastes good. There was a bar in the hotel which I recommend you try the Canadian beer its so refreshing and tastes good. The bar men even advise us places to visit on our next stop. I recommend this hotel, its so close to to parliament and tourist spots in Ottawa. Will definitely go back here in our next visit.

The hotel is on the roadside, the door is relatively low-key, pay attention to the room, but not particularly spacious, after all, the location in the center of Ottawa is really good, travel is very convenient. Basically, the surrounding landmark attractions and buildings can be reached on foot.

overall stay was completely good but this building does not have free parking, they charge you 22 dollars for underground parking or outside parking as well and no security for car they said car parking is always at owner's risk. thats only a negative point otherwise room was clean, no disturbance, breakfast was good.

A very well-run hostel in an excellent location for anyone interested in exploring downtown Ottawa. The staff were all friendly, and I enjoyed the tour in the morning. I stayed for one night in a women only dorm. The wifi was good. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was very nice. The dining area had a nice little lounge section with a few board games. They're currently part way through renovations, so if I need to stay a night or two in Ottawa again I might try out sleeping in one of the cells!

Our family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport between connecting flights so our expectation was not high. We always had good experience with other Hampton Inns so this was just an easy choice, assuming a known quality hotel and also close to the airport. The Good about this hotel - 1. close to airport 2. free shuttle (details to follow) 3. has a couple restaurants just across from the parking lot if you don't want to venture out too far 4. check-in was quick The Bad - 1. Free shuttle only starts at 6am so if you need to catch an early flight you'll need to find a taxi. In our case, we had to pre-book a taxi the night before because we needed to get to the airport at 4:30am. 2. The hotel shuttle was just a plain white van with no signs indicating it's for Hampton Inn. Driver was not in any kind of uniform and when I knocked on his window trying to inquire, he came out and yelled 'What's going on'. Well not exactly what I expect a hotel shuttle driver to identify himself that way. When I asked if he's from Hampton Inn the answer was yes. But in retrospect any random guy can give me the same answer and we just kinda need to trust that driver that he's a legitimate Hampton Inn shuttle driver. The whole short trip to the hotel we were wondering if we would end up getting mugged. Just not a good feeling and I think the hotel can handle this a lot better, how hard is it to give this driver an uniform with a hampton inn logo, or print a hampton inn logo on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard. At least something to make your shuttle and driver look a little bit more legitimate and make your guests feel a little bit safer. 3. As mentioned earlier we pre-booked a taxi to pick us up at 4:15am, turns out the front desk forgot to book it for us. When we got down to the lobby and looked for the taxi, that's when the front desk guy realized he forgot about it. So we waited for another 10-12 mins for the taxi to come. (taxi fare from hotel to airport was less than $20) 4. Not all electric outlets are working, in our room the one attached to the side table lamp didn't seem to work. Had to search high and low to have enough outlets to charge 4 phones and 4 apple watches. The Very Bad - The mattress was the absolute worse, I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that have mattresses that dip down about 2 inches and with no support whatsoever. I'm not a big person, but my husband is so the whole night I was sinking and rolling to my husband's side. All I needed was a few hours of sleep between flights and I could not get that because of the mattress. Tossing and turning the whole night and could not find a good position. My back was hurting the next day like I was sleeping on an absolute garbage mattress the night before. We did not use the free breakfast, coffee wasn't ready during our stay, no other amenities were used. Overall this hotel is of good value with the cleanliness and proximity to downtown Ottawa. The hotel was opened to business in 2019. I redeemed from my Aeroplan for the 2 nights stay, and I paid $25/night for parking. Room - The room itself is clean with quite spacious bathroom. It is equipped with small fridge and there’s a microwave over the counter which is good. Amenities - it has a swimming pool and it’s clean with the adjacent patio and you can go outside which is good. It served complimentary breakfast with good selection of food. Plenty of seatings within the dinning area. Parking - OK but a bit tight in the parking stall however even it’s quite fully booked we are able to find parking. While we stayed I’ve found it interesting cleaning wasn’t done during the first night. The attendant made a mistake to our room and we ended up knocking the wrong room but it was an honest mistake I believed. What I’ve found it interesting though is right across diagonally across is a homeless shelter so just be prepared across the corner of the stress diagonally there’s a homeless shelter and be prepared for that. It didn’t bother me but you may end up having the room view of that depending on where your room is located. I’m sad to see so many of them and especially during the pandemic still seeing them on the street is a hit heartbreaking for me. This is a relatively new hotel and suitable for family and I’d recommend.

The location of this Hotel was good. Close to Lone Star Bar & Grill & the St. Laurent shopping center. Also, a five minute walk to the St. Laurent public transit hub which is served by busses & light rail that takes you into downtown Ottawa & only one stop from VIA Rail station @ Tremblay Station. Front Desk Staff was very accommodating. The daily cleaning of my room ( I stayed for ten days ) was not good. I did not get clean bed sheets, no vacuuming done & wiping down surfaces was not done at all. I did get clean towels on a daily basis. First day I stayed I found lots of long black human hair on the bathroom floor ( yuck! ). Room itself was renovated with a modern look, not bad at all. I found the bed was very firm. TV channels do not display in HD. Breakfast was included with my room. Food quality for breakfast is very processed & lots of carbs. Even the hard boiled & peeled eggs come in plastic pouch! The only raw & fresh food I found was an apple. Dining area for breakfast is in the basement of the Hotel in a small windowless room with a TV broadcasting Canadian news. I did find the nightly price was a lot more than it should be for a 2.5 star place but it was the only cheaper option out of the other Hotels in downtown Ottawa at the time of booking.
