Protea Hotel Oudtshoorn Riempie Estate
4.1/528 Reviews
We underestimated the travel time over the mountain passes in South Africa so after being already late on our way to the Cango Caves near Oudtshoorn we decided to stay overnight in this Protea Hotel in Oudtshoorn. Was an excellent decision. Very friendly receptionist, very attentive service including restaurant, nice King size bed and the room also very clean! Graham, the jack of all trades was the icing on the cake! Highly recommended.
De Denne Country Guest House
4.4/538 Reviews
This is the second time we stayed over at De Denne Guest House - and again, it was just a pleasure! The pool and lawn were a welcome resting place in the heat and the long drive. As always, the staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful where ever they can be. Dinner was a wonderful experience, especially the ostrich meat. The rooms were so inviting, huge and filled with great detail. We had the lights on during loadshedding and the wi-fi was great whilst we were there. Perhaps just one suggestion for the hot months - ceiling fans in the bedrooms, as the airflow into the rooms are not so great and keeping the air-con on during the night is not ideal. The breakfast was tasty and everything you may need and it already says a lot that this was our second stay here and we will most certainly come back any day again! Keep it up and well done!
Die Fonteine Country Guest House
4.5/54 Reviews
This is the second time we have stayed here and was even better than the first. Just 2 of us but booked the family room as it’s such a beautifully decorated and spacious room. Attention to detail is incredible- small flowers placed everywhere- even on the toilet roll! Beautiful tranquil garden and short stroll to the church or a local winery. Situated midway between Kango caves and Oudtshoorn so a 15 min drive to Oudtshoorn restaurants. (We don’t recommend the nearby Mill restaurant towards Kango) What we do recommend are the Braai (barbecue) put on most nights by the host. Beautifully cooked local meats - very tender ostrich and home produced vegetables and South African melk tart pudding. Highly recommended and we would certainly go back again.
Swartberg Country Manor
4.5/510 Reviews
The Manor is the perfect place to sit back and relax, with stunning views and amazing service. When the Karoo gets too hot there’s a pristine pool to cool off in or even just relax next to. I thoroughly enjoyed the 3km walking route that featured a variety of birds and other small creatures. The linens were lovely and fresh and the room decor was light and refreshing. The food was to die for, breakfast was a cold buffet with a design your own warm breakfast. Dinner was a delicious 3 course meal with a choice between 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts. If you are seeking some adventure the manor is not farm from a bunch of activities including the Cango Caves. It really is a piece of paradise.
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge
4.5/546 Reviews
The food was great. The tents are great. In particular looking outside while sitting in the bathtub. :) The service was very good. The bush safari which we had booked in advance had to be cancelled due to muddy roads. Bad weather is of course noone's fault. And customer safety is important. Still, alternative tour options would have been appreciated. The ”elephant experience” was good. At the same time we felt as bit rushed as the guides kind of pushed us through the different ”positions”. Overall, we had a good time at Buffelsdrift!
Chandelier Game Lodge

If you want to live in a special hotel in South Africa by car, you can choose it by looking at the picture evaluation. First of all, the location of the hotel is very partial. I walked 30km mountain road from George, and then walked a dirt road to get there. I was scared for fear of breaking the low chassis of the borrowed Polo. When I arrived, there was really a giraffe in the lobby of the hotel, one, only one, which was better than the photos taken in other hotels in Africa, but it was not very good. The villa we stayed in had two rooms with 5 beds, and the two of us felt very big. The second is experience, and other experience accommodations in South Africa, this is really a farmhouse, 1,300 yuan per night, breakfast is very simple buffet, the rest of the meals are not included. Compared with the Pilinsburg Shepherd, others 3000➕, three meals included, two hunts, 3 hours. The three meals are exquisite, and the rooms are good. This one is really not good. Maybe I don’t know how he can pay for it.
