Extremely friendly owners, very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The house was furnished very tastefully and the garden is lovely. Only a few steps away from good restaurants.

Fantastic accomodation with plenty of history to go with it. Nice spacious room in a style that fits the history of the property. Only spent one night here but would have been happy to stay longer. Owners live onsite who are very warm and friendly

A friend of ours recommended the Oakdene Guesthouse to us and we ended up being just as impressed as he was. The house made you feel like you were back in the 19th century, everything is from that time, with the amenities of the 21st century. This gave you an impression of what South Africa looked like back then. Our hosts, two Belgian emigrants, were very welcoming. We had a delicious breakfast with homemade bread. The view from the breakfast table into the garden with pool was very nice. Daniel gave us some good tips. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to visit his son's restaurant as it was closed that day. It's called Ebony and Ivory and looked very promising. We would come back.

Very welcoming hosts, Sonia and Daniel. Really interesting historic building, full of character. Great value for money too, given the lovely setting, comfort and tasty breakfast. Daniel and Sonia gave us really useful information about what to visit in the local area, as well as making excellent choices for restaurant reservations.

Oakdene Guest House is set in a historic building (formally a residence) in Oudtshoorn. There are several rooms throughout the house all of which have great individual character and charm. The business is run by Sonja and Daniel who are excellent, knowledgeable and very friendly hosts, they are very good at what they do and are a mine of information on Oudtshoorn and the surrounding areas. The room room we had was very spacious, well appointed and en-suite, the bed was comfortable, the water was hot and plentiful. Breakfast was on the Stoep (Terrace) there was a good selection of the usual fare:- fruit, yoghurt, ham, cheese, bread etc plus Sonja’s homemade cakes (very nice) plus a hot option ‘made to order’ . There’s a nice garden area at the rear with loungers around the pool area and Secure Parking. All in all Oakdene is a lovely place to stay with excellent hosts. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

We stayed there for two days and got a free room upgrade. The accommodation is centrally located in town and you can easily walk to one or two really great restaurants. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us lots of tips. The complex is really beautiful. A 170-year-old historic house with a beautiful garden and pool. Breakfast was also great. We had a great stay and can only recommend the accommodation.
