My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront for three nights to attend my 50th high school reunion. We had a riverfront room with a balcony, and we enjoyed the room. We watched the sun rise and set on the Ohio River, the barge traffic, and a couple of jet skis running up and down the river from the balcony. We did have to go inside a few times because of smokers beneath us or to the side. Owensboro has done a great job creating a Riverwalk, and this Holiday Inn is at the end of the Riverwalk. It’s an easy walk from the hotel to downtown for restaurants and attractions. The bed was comfortable. The shower water was hot with plenty of water pressure, but the tub seemed narrow – I guess I’m used to a walk-in shower. I could hear guests outside until after 2:00 a.m. Friday night and also late Saturday night. I’d suggest the staff try to close the loud noise down earlier. I was also surprised that the restaurant opened late on Sunday morning. At the very least, coffee could be provided. The fitness room was spacious with mats, a weight bench, a stationary bike, two treadmills, and two ellipticals. I had the fitness room all to myself for two mornings. The water dispenser was empty in the fitness room, and I meant to say something at the desk the first morning. The TV did have an extra HDMI cord, so I didn’t have to break out mine to watch streaming from my laptop. I’d stay at this hotel again.
