I left my luggage at the hotel front desk for two hours, and then went to the airport for a flight back home in the evening. When I returned home and opened my suitcase, I found that the Burberry card holder I bought the night before had been stolen. Because the card holder was still there when I packed my luggage, and the suitcase had only been left at the front desk for two hours, I was very sure that it was stolen by the hotel staff. After reporting it to Ctrip and contacting the hotel, it was fruitless. To be honest, the distance was so far, and I didn't expect to find it back, but as a star hotel, such a thing actually happened, I was very speechless. This is my first time to comment on a hotel as a Ctrip member, and I must let everyone know the real situation. I hope that when Ctrip recommends hotels, the safety of foreign hotels should at least be put first.

We spent 3 nights in room 11. The hotel offers parking and is in a perfect location to explore Oxford. Every effort was made from the moment we arrived to ensure our stay was perfect. All the staff were helpful and offered exceptional customer service. A special mention for Thais who welcomed us on arrival and made sure we were totally happy with our accommodation. Very impressive. The room was light , the bed was very comfortable and we overlooked the high street which gave a lovely view of the church and surrounding buildings. We had no issues with street noise. Breakfast was delicious with wide choice and we had dinner in the restaurant which we can also highly recommend. Top class hotel, Should visit Oxford again, we would not hesitate to book in at 'the old bank hotel '

My wife and I stayed here for a two night leisure break during early December. We had stayed here once before many years ago and it was a default choice to return. The hotel is far from cheap but it's very nice indeed and right in the middle of Oxford, so easily walkable to pretty much anywhere in the centre of the city. We booked a Deluxe room and stayed in Room 40. It's on the top floor overlooking High Street (and the Radcliffe Camera). That's exactly what we wanted - it's quiet, with little noise from the street, but still has a beautful view (probably lower ceiling than rooms on lower floors but we didn't care about that). The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, just what you would expect from a luxury boutique hotel like this. The room had nice touches like very nice tea and coffee and moreish home-made complimentary biscuits etc. The public areas of the hotel are very smart too. We didn't dine in the hotel restaurant because my recollection from last time was that - unlike the rest of the hotel - it's slightly characterless and would probably be a bit noisy when full. I wouldn't change my mind having been back (it's more a brasserie type venue that would be good for breakfast or lunch but not for an intimate couple's dinner for example). The complementary car park behind the hotel is a big asset, but make sure to pre-book your place (the hotel actually contacted us to offer this proactively). The entrance to the car park is very narrow and I wouldn't like to try getting a full sized vehicle into it (although it's possible, someone had got a Discovery into it somehow when we were there). Front desk and housekeeping were discreet, efficient, warm and welcoming. Overall, top notch hotel. We won't consider anywhere else next time we visit Oxford.
