Very attentive staff and everything went smoothly. We stayed a couple of nights here and didn’t disappointed. Rooms sizes are generous and we’ll clean. Only one power plug was not working and it was properly fixed after addressing the issue. Breakfast times can be busy so recommend to go early if you want the best table with view. Cuisine was delicious. Pool area was not so busy and we could relax around it The car park is very convenient

Stayed as part of a 3 week holiday across Portugal. This was Vila Gale hotel number 1/4 we would stay and was the best. We stayed as a family of 4 in a suite. Which was perfect. Amazing balcony and spotless big room with separate rooms for the kids. Hotel has character but modern feel. Breakfast was lovely. Staff where great (We left a valuable item in the safe which they transported to our next hotel). We eat in the restaurant on one night. Food was good and joining the Vila Gale club you get 10% off which made it good value. Pool was great, and not busy (which is rare in August). Kids loved it and it seemed very relaxed. Location is close to Lisbon on short train journey and 30mins transfer from airport. Area is not as busy as other villages on this coast but a relaxed feel with a few restaurants, park and beach within close reach. Very chilled. Great hotel and we will come back

Faciliteiten: Klassiek, maar zeker geen oubollig hotel. Gelegen in een oud paleis. Het kan een eindje wandelen zijn tot aan de kamer, mensen die slecht te been zijn, melden dat best op voorhand. Zeer verzorgd zwembad. Geen handdoeken leggen, steeds bedjes vrij, voldoende schaduwplekken of parasols. Mooie bijhorende tuin. Aan het zwembad is de Wi-fi eerder beperkt. Comfort&hygiëne: Erg ruime, nette kamer. Ruime badkamer met bad en douche. Dagelijkse poets en vervanging handdoeken indien gewenst. De kamers zijn vrij donker doordat er geen plafondverlichting is. Leuk terrasje aan de kamer. Goed werkende airco. Geen last van geluid van andere kamers of buiten. Locatie: Op zo’n 30 minuten van de luchthaven (tip: Über). Rustige omgeving. Enkele leuke restaurantjes. Verder niets bijzonders in de omgeving. Ideale uitvalsbasis voor tripjes naar Cascais of Lissabon, telkens 20-tal minuutjes met de trein. Treinstation op 3 minuutjes wandelen. Personeel: Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Niets op aan te merken. Eten&drinken: Logies met ontbijt. Heel degelijk, lekker ontbijt. Voldoende mogelijkheden. Enkel het brood dat aan tafel wordt gebracht kan soms even op zich laten wachten. Twee keer in het hotel gedineerd wat ook zeker een aanrader is!

Overall an excellent hotel. Good rooms, good food, helpful staff, interesting concept of all the poetry on the walls. not much to add there. I'll focus this review on accessibility for wheelchair users--I cannot walk long distances, nor descend steps myself. Accessibility-wise, the hotel gets a "B". In general, accessibility is very good for a palace built on a hillside! Get dropped off "up the hill" outside reception. From there I could roll to the room (#107, dedicated to Bernardim Ribeiro), the restaurant, and the spa. Corridors wide, satisfactory. Bathroom big including roll-up shower, low sink, grab bars everywhere. Points lost for: thick carpet in room makes wheelchair harder to manoeuvre; mini-ramp on one side (outside) of balcony door only; small turning radius to bathroom; low toilet; low, small shower seat; no easy way to enter pool at the spa.

A perfect stay for a couple or for a family with cozy quality and luxury service . Special mention for the special dishes and chef and spa services . Not to forget the beautiful theme of poetry with poems along each place and walls. There is an ancient little capella and an antique part of the hotel connected to the modern side with rooms spa and sauna Turkish bath and indoor swimming pool

Spacious, comfortable room with roomy bathroom (although a snug shower). Quiet at night with good A/C. Decent breakfast. Our room was dimly lit, but what hotel room isn't? It took us a bit over half an hour to get from the hotel to the train and then into downtown Lisbon.
