Wilpattu Tree House

Absolutely amazing. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us out. Really friendly and welcoming. The food was exceptional, it was like home cooked food. The strategic location of the place close to the entrance is really good. The rooms and all were amazing. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and amazing experience.

It was an enjoyable experience in the Wilpattu Treehouse. We loved the way that the hotel staff had embraced the feel of nature. The room was cozy and all the facilities were of the highest standards. The cuisine was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed each meal. We highly recommend feeling this relaxing experience as it is one of a kind.

We have stayed in many different types of accommodations including treehouses in Africa, this was our first in Asia. It had all the comforts needed, the variety of food when it comes to western food was a bit limited but fully understandable in the circumstances. We had a small mishap, not due to the administration. We were robbed, probably by a monkey, although we had taken the full precautions of locking doors windows etc. I was having a shower and left my watch in the bathroom. At night we heard noises and chattering from the bathroom, but was too tired / scared to investigate, it was raining hard, so we ignored. The next morning...a missing watch and a soap with clues! If anyone comes across a monkey wearing a black watch, tell me! It is one of those adventures that we will remember from our travels!

A great treehouse to be in nature, so do expect a lot of noise and activity during the night. Keep doors and windows closed well! We had frogs in our bathroom but they were very cute, however, our friends took the treehouse above us and it appears that a monkey entered their bathroom and stole from them. You have to pre-order dinner and breakfast, since this is a small accommodation. Unfortunately, for dinner only spicy food was offered to us, and since this accommodation was at the start of the trip we were not yet used to the level of spicy food in Sri Lanka. Further, it appears we were charged for the water bottles provided to us at dinner time (we did not ask for them, they were just brought out).

The hotel is very clean und the people are very nice and patient. We booked a safari package with a jeep and food included. The safari was awesome we saw many different animals and even a leopard. In the morning of the safari some elephants were walking next to the hotel, so we even saw them. We also took a walk around in the evening, next to the national park. There we saw different birds and deers and other animals. It was very calming and interesting. The food is delicious and the pillows are so soft I wish I had one at home.

This place was an excellent introduction to Sri Lankan Safari accommodation and hospitality. A really fun place to stay with the kids, on the doorstep to Wilpattu reserve. The food was simple but exceptional, and the staff were very kind and friendly and hugely helpful. A little snippet of wilderness in comfort.
