Great hotel on the beach

Great location overlooking sea. Hotel a bit dated and run down, but very clean and tidy everywhere. Good breakfast. Only had bar snacks that were OK. Service from all staff was very good. Paignton itself is not a very nice place, but gives access to plenty of nice days out.

We (me and my husband) stayed here at the end of August in room 20 with our three children age 9, 5 and 2. We were made to feel so welcome. Some hotels aren't very accommodating of three boisterous children but the staff here are amazing. There is a lovely lady called Amanda who made such an effort with our children especially our daughter. The hotel is beautiful, it is old but also so clean and well kept. The room was spotless. The indoor and outdoor pools are great if your children like swimming! We only stayed here for breakfast which was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff in the restaurant. Also the bar staff were fantastic too. The hotel is a ten minute walk into town and right on the beach. The views from the terrace are amazing. We would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially families with children. The staff make it what it is and we'd like to thank them for all they did to make us welcome and comfortable. Stayed in a standard twin room 70, second floor. Basic but was clean, spacious, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and a side view of the sea. Beds were lovely and comfy. We slept very well. Only issue was that there was only two plugs, one for kettle and one for tv. We were bed and breakfast, breakfast was very good. Pastries, cereal, yoghurts, juice and you ordered hot food at the table with toast. Coffee was good! Staff were very lovely and welcoming. The view from the restaurant overlooks the bay, spectacular. We enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel, good children's menu costing £9 for 3 courses. Adult 3 course was £30 and very good. The restaurant menus are changed each day, you can pick up a copy from reception. 24 hr room service from the bar menu. Lots of choice on the bar menu. The outdoor pool is heated and nice even on a grey day! Plenty of sun beds. Great indoor seating arrears overlooking the bay, plus outdoor seating for drinks and food whilst enjoying the view. Car park was free and plenty of space. Hotel is close to Paignton town centre with all the seaside attractions. Recommend the circus, mini golf and we did a trip to Babbacombe to see the model village- it was fabulous! I’d definitely stay here again, all staff were friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping do a great job! We’d maybe choose a balcony room as they looked lovely.

Our stay at the Redcliffe was better than expected with clean comfortable rooms. Good food, great staff and facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who are led by a hands on committed general manager. The whole stay was relaxed and comfortable. Breakfast was served in a room with great sea views and the service was excellent. Great outdoor pool and seating area to enjoy food and drinks. We enjoyed the hotel so much that some days were spent just being at the hotel relaxing. Would definitely visit again

This is a lovely hotel. Yes it does need updating but we found that the decor just really suited this hotel. There are plenty of facilities and the views are second to none. Both the hotel swimming pools are heated although we didn’t use the outdoor one as it was being cleaned ready for the summer. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. They all work hard and i hope the hotel management appreciates what a good team they have. Breakfast is lovely and served in a room that provides a lovely sea view. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will happily stay here again.

The view was so beautiful especially at sunset. The location is just perfect right by the beach. Roger is definitely the biggest star, super helpful and remembered us every time. The rooms were very clean and the bed was nice and comfy. Can't wait to come back

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble for them, only concerned with our comfort. Absolutely amazing!!! Food served to very high standard, breakfast couldn’t have been better at a 5 star hotel and the Redcliffe hotel actually runs to 5 Star standards, satisfying their customers needs and to top it all, an indoor spa!! Come and stay here comfort absolutely. guaranteed. We have rebooked. Thank you to Amanda and staff for a lovely stay see you all again end of May

We have had a really wonderful Stay. The room was a partial sea view room which was very clean and seemed completely refurbished. Everything appeared to be new and the shower was great. We had dinners in the restaurant and lunches in the bar area. All the food was very good and good quality. The staff were amazing especially Roger in the restaurant. He remembered our names and chatted to everyone, all the while paying attention to new guests arriving or others needing service. The setting is fabulous and being on the beachfront, lots to keep you happy.. We will happily recommend a visit to Redcliffe Hotel and we will be back.
