Ashtree House Hotel, Glasgow Airport & Paisley

It's a pleasant surprise to drive off a busy high street, up a steep slope, and be confronted with a handsome traditional Scottish hotel you would normally expect out in the countryside. Ashtree House is a 10 minute taxi ride from Glasgow Airport and a five minute walk to Paisley Gilmore Street station where frequent trains make the short hop into Glasgow Central. The hotel has a nice traditional feel to it and is spotlessly clean. There is good car parking space available. The owners and their small team of staff are very friendly and helpful. Their local recommended taxi firm is also very good. As residents are coming and going at all times (particularly for early flights) the hotel could do with oiling the front door which is apt to make a squeaking noise every time somebody opens it. The rooms are spacious and well maintained with good storage space. Tea and coffee is supplied in the rooms. The WiFi can be a little erratic but the heating was on for one night when there was a wintry feel outside (in July!!!) and the room was warm and comfortable. The bathroom was a little tight but the shower was good and the water hot. The breakfast was very good with a full Scottish or a selection of salmon and other dishes. We dined in the hotel in the evening and whilst the choice of dishes wasn't extensive, the food was excellent. We would warmly recommend Ashtree House as a great base to stay whilst visiting Glasgow or the surrounding towns and villages.

Gracious staff, and a very gracious space (two identical late eighteenth-century stone townhouses). Also, despite being just off the high street, it's an oasis of quiet and calm. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. In easy walking distance from everything in downtown Paisley (only a block or so from the museum, whenever the Paisley museum actually reopens).

Beautiful small hotel, with absolutely lovely owners. Maureen is warm and welcoming, and had great suggestions for my stay in Paisley. I was in room 6, on the second floor. Very spacious, and a lovely duvet that kept me cosy. Dinner was excellent too.

Excellent place to stay , fabulous food comfortable hotel with friendly owners who do everything to make you feel a home away from home. We have stayed there many times and recommend it highly to friends who have had a similar experiences. Good place to use as a base for visiting west coast areas.

A hidden gem! Very centrally located for Paisley and ideal for getting into Glasgow city centre or just for staying near the airport - The rooms are large, the beds (& pillows) are comfy and they are incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was fabulous and our complex dietary needs were not an issue. We ate one evening and the food was exceptional - if you like Whiskey, they have an impressive selection! This is a wonderful historic building and the team are very accommodating!

While the proprietors were friendly and helpful about local information such as transportation and restaurants, the facilities were outdated and in need upgrade. The amenities were minimal and location was less than ideal.

This has been a lovely place to stay during our trip to a concert in Glasgow, everyone at Ashtree were lovely, friendly and so accommodating. Our room was clean and bright, the beds were very comfortable. We will definitely be back to the Ashtree Hotel!

The website was completely false. There was no whiskey bar and no restaurant, only a room where breakfast was served. There was a small bar but it wasn't open. The hotel was clean enough but run down. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, we were told to "google it".
