Be warned! The "restaurant" is actually a pub. The food was really good, but it was extremely loud. Also, they supply earplugs in the rooms. I dont know if the rooms are above a disco or if it's an event space, but it's THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! all night long.

For me this was an ideal hotel to stay in. I don't need all the facilities of a 4 or 5 star. It's small and friendly and all the staff made me feel very welcome. There is excellent parking and the food in the Bar/restaurant is delicious. The hotel is located in a nice area and its quite safe to walk about. There is a little shop across the road as well.

It was a bit confusing with the booking because they have changed the name to Mills and Brae We have stayed there on several occasions and cannot really fault them We realise it is not a 5 star hotel but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice The staff are friendly and very helpful Colin was absolutely wonderful We had dinner which was very tasty and the breakfast was just what we needed Thank you to all the staff

A disaster from start to finish. Arrived at 3 o’clock check-in time to be told there was a problem with the room. It later turned out that the room had not been serviced from the previous occupants. I wasn’t told how to get to my room, breakfast time, Wi-Fi passcode etc, just handed my room key. I pointed out the bedlinen had not been changed from the previous occupants to a guy who wasn’t sure whether he was the manager or not, and he assured me that the sheets were clean when they blatantly weren’t. No towels, bin not emptied. My room was above the kitchen/cellar fans which ground and vibrated right through the night. My room was right next to the function room and there was a 60th birthday party going on until 1 o’clock in the morning. I got no sleep whatsoever. I went downstairs at around 11 o’clock to ask a guy who told me he was the restaurant manager but wasn’t what time it would be finished, he said he would speak to the disco guy and ask him to turn down the music, if anything it got even louder. I came down for breakfast at 8 o’clock, there was nobody around apart from the housekeeper. I asked for a full refund, and was given one.

Myself, my mum and my son went in for food on Sunday and for me, I won’t be back. Mum and son ordered the food at the bar and mum requested the drinks asap as mum and I were parched. But our meals came before our drinks, mum actually had to ask for them again. Mum had steak pie which was lovely although her carrots were a bit undercooked for mum but my son took a bit and he thought they were fine. My son got macaroni cheese and again no complaints. I ordered a baked potato with tuna and red onion and it looked lovely so I put my red onion on my tuna and mixed it through x took a wee bite and potato was the same temperature as the tuna so scraped the tuna aside and took a bit of potato off the bottom and it was cold x mum took it back up, waitress asked if I wanted it heated up or a fresh one made, and said no heat it up it’s fine. She brought it back with the the tuna in a tiny wee side dish with I would guess half the amount from the first time but it was ok and was told it was the tuna that made the potato cold 🙄 what they didn’t know is I worked in the food industry for many many years and that was blooming nonsense, don’t make silly excuses when it’s easier to just admit it was cold and not zapped in the microwave long enough. Staff were lovely and on the go constantly, decor was beautiful and bathroom was clean and fresh but would I go back no I probably wouldn’t.

Arrive at the Gleniffer Hotel Paisley for evening meal. First impressions it looks nothing special from the outside however don’t be put off. Once you step inside, its a completely different story! This place I believe has not long undertaking a complete overhaul. Fresh decor, lovely dining area, clean and airy. Plenty seating around the sides as well as tables & chairs in the middle, certainly have made good use of the space available. Only downside with seating is that someone like myself who has mobility issues and on the large side, after being seated for about 20 mins the seat became uncomfortable. We were seated at a two person table, not a great deal of leg room at the table we were sat at. Someone like myself (size wise) would have been more suited on the bench seating around the sides, however these tables were laid out for around 6 diners. To the food, I ordered the fish & chips with side salad instead of mushy peas, my wife ordered steak & chips, portion of onion rings too. My fish & chips arrived with a side salad of ‘overgrown cress’ at least thats what it looked like! Would have been nice had it arrived with lettuce, tomato, cucumber etc. Even if the charged a little extra, it would have been more presentable than a pile of cress on top! My dinner came with tarter sauce which was delicious! The fish was ‘ok’ and the chips were certainly different but tasty! My wife’s steak was done to the correct order ‘medium well’ again, the steak could have been a little bigger/thicker. Its worth noting that paying a little extra is always worth it for that little more on a plate especially if the food quality is of a good standard. The sauce that accompanied the steak was also very nice. We finished off with two sweets, both of us got the caramel shortcake sundae. At a cost of £6.50each was not really worth it. Pieces of caramel cake with a drizzle of caramel and scoops of ice cream in a sweet glass. Having waited slightly longer than expected between finishing our main & sweet I wanted to order a coffee but my backside just could not sit on the seat a minuet longer. Over all this place is worth a visit, staff were attentive, and prices were average. When we were there the dining area had around 20 people in it. I will call again and try something different next time from the menu.
