Melaleuca Resort

Last Aug 25 while staying in Cairns we visited Palm Cove and came upon this Beautiful Tropical Gardens Resort, we walked in found the manageress Lisa who showed us a nice suite it was perfect, spotless, S/ con with semi private balcony...we booked for next year and Kept in Touch with Lisa. Our last visit to Palm Cove was 58ys ago when we both worked at Hides Hotel Cairns, ( it was 1s Class in that Era ) ................................................................................................................................. We walked in reception on July 26 got welcomed by Mngres Lisa got keys to Suite 13, parked up, moved in, sat on our balcony looked over our Beautiful gardens, Pool, at the Ocean, Paradise... our Lounge has a XL sliding door with Ocean out look Awesome We found the suite had everything we needed all in very good condition, nice size bathroom, washer / dryer, rear views of large Palms, king bed for comfortable sleeping, compact kitchen full equipped, and Little Extras Other Places Lack... compact lounge large width crimsafe screen compact lounge, & chairs large sliding door. Pool area is very Nice, great place to relax, great BB,Q ( webber ) area nice settings, & comfy lounge... pots with Herbs for Guests. Mgnress, Lisa was very helpful during our stay, all staff were friendly, the u/cover parking was well light and nice spaces. In / Out entrance a little Tight, But Chevy or Rams ? Compared to TNSV / Cairns, here it was No Traffic noise no Hoons, Like TNSV..... just the crashing of waves, & deep Hums from in frequent local busses. A few Ks south is a good shopping centre Coles etc. S L S Club palm cove a Great place to eat, also Vivo a few meters away, but Nu Nu ...is an exceptional experience la Mesa, at peppers, tapas at Miguel's. palm cove tavern wide choice dining here. We had a very enjoyable week here unfortunately like Cairns This Year very Windy, Sunny, but Luke warm temps perfect for Taswegians, / Victorians. but a Wonderful Experience in Palm Cove. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. The location is brilliant being right opposite the beach and central to all bars and restaurants in Palm Cove. The rooms are spotless and well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. Each room has access to a balcony that overlooks the pool and the beach/Coral Sea. The pool area and surrounding gardens are immaculately maintained and an absolute pleasure to laze around in and soak up the sun. Lisa and Pete (owner/s) were the icing on the cake. Just such lovely, friendly people and always happy to have a chat and share their local knowledge which we found very helpful. This place is not Peppers or Mantra. It is boutique in every sense of the word and is a great example of bigger is not always best!

We have just completed our 3rd annual winter holiday at Melaleuca Resort, Palm Cove, and enjoyed it so much we've booked again for 2 more weeks next year. Melaleuca is perfectly located in the centre of the Wilson Esplanade beachfront ***** *****. We did rent a car for a few days on this trip, but you don't need one. Cairns is only a 45-minute, 50-cent, bus ride away, but we find the beach, the general environment and the peaceful ambience of Melaleuca is generally enough. The pool and gardens are superb. Lisa is a wonderful, charming and super-helpful host. Nothing is too much trouble for her. We just love it there.

Melaleuca Resort is in a terrific position just across from the beach at Palm Cove with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops within a few minutes' walk. Being set back from the road it was also very quiet. The apartment was comfortable, neat, clean and well-equipped with a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher so we had everything we needed for our stay. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our time at the Resort.

Spacious clean apartment with lovely balcony overlooking the pool, beautiful gardens, and the beach. Great location; within walking distance of all the sea front restaurants and cafes, and just across the road to the beach. Great little pool area in landscaped gardens, with plenty of loungers and brollies. Secluded spot. Good A/C in living area and bedroom. Fab shower pressure. We were allowed a late check out on our day of departure with no surcharge which was nice. We stayed 4 nights in a double ocean view room. Downsides: Currently undergoing some refurbishments so there was no staffed reception during our stay. The room wasn't serviced throughout our stay so we ran out of toilet paper, and toiletries. I think at least 1 service should have taken place. The "double" bed comprised two singles pushed together with no attachments which was uncomfortable and far from ideal! The WiFi was weak in our room. Room should have an information sheet (especially given the lack of reception) with staff contact, local info, check out details etc... Room furnishings and tiling are dated, albeit clean and functional. Overall, I would recommend this accommodation and we found it good value compared to other hotels along the front, that didn't offer the same views.

We had stayed at Melaleuca previously and the resort was perfect for us. Great location surrounded by bars and restaurants with perfect hosts, what more could we ask for.

Booked a one week stay at this resort as we had stayed at many others along the Palm Cove ***** over the years. Price is remarkable given what others nearby are asking. Staff member was helpful on arrival and we climbed the stairs to the top floor of three levels - good outlook but stairs. The apartment was very spacious with separate bedroom, kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Everything provided for a longer stay, in fact I think some apartments had semi permanent residents. We had a couple of maintenance issues with air con units (seperate units for living and bedroom spaces) and the towel rail in the bathroom falling off the wall. No biggie as there was a drying rack provided in the laundry space. The pool and garden area were beautifully maintained and we spent time lounging poolside and using the covered BBQ area for some lunches. The BBQ area even had condiments provided! Plenty of places to get takeaways or dine in meals nearby and the bus service to Clifton Beach Coles, Smithfield shopping Centre and Cairns ($0.50c) is easy to pick up a short walk away. We would recommend Melaleuca Resort as it’s well priced, comfortable, clean and has a lovely pool area.

Beautiful gardens and lovely pool. Quiet and perfect location. Comfy bed and everything you need. Felt safe and friendly. Could see the beautiful sunrise each morning.
