Hotel Basilica is situated right in the heart of the old town in Palma and it is aptly named as it is literally a stone’s throw from the Basilica de Sant Francesc (incidentally also worth a visit), in fact we were able to see the Basilica’s stained glass windows from our balcony. It’s also within easy walking distance of the main shopping district, the beach and the marina. The hotel has a very high end, boutique vibe with understated and classy decor through out. Despite its location wedged between other historic buildings and the Basilica, the designers have made the most of the available space, including a courtyard where you can have drinks in the evening or breakfast in the morning and it doesn’t feel crowded or small. The hotel even has its own roof top pool & terrace which although small, does allow the most glorious views over the Basilica and much of old town Palma and is definitely worth checking out for some relaxation time! The rooms were immaculate and tastefully appointed throughout. Bathing facilities were also excellent with walk in showers and Molton Brown toiletries. Maid service was also excellent. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty on offer and a cook to order option including omelettes and fresh crepes. The crowing glory of this hotel are the staff whose attention to detail and genuine care for all their guests is second to none including ferrying drinks up four floors to the roof top terrace, booking excursions and restaurants. In particular we’d like to mention Javier, Bianca, Tania and Lucia! They combined that perfect balance of professionalism whilst also making you feel like you were staying with family. All in all a pretty top-notch experience .
