Punta Paitilla
The earliest five-star hotel in Panama City. The location has a good view, but the facilities are aging. The air in the corridors of the hotel has the smell of air freshener mixed with mold. The service staff is older. During breakfast, I saw a female chef cooking eggs. When I asked in local language what I was doing, I was immediately scolded and asked to get ready-made food next door. I didn’t know what the situation was, but this was the first time I had been treated like this in a five-star hotel. Not a special recommendation. I later moved to a Marriott hotel in the city and it felt like normal again.

The smell of the room was very heavy, it was just renovated, it was pungent, everything else was good.
Radisson Hotel Panama Canal

We loved the location next to Panama canal and our view from balcony to passing ships and Bridge of the Americas. The staff was very friendly from kind receptionist to attentive bartender and they were all smiling and waving to our little son (4 months) every time they saw us. Gym was airconditioned and clean, opened till 12 am, swimming pool big and refreshing with sunbeds and umbrellas all around. Breakfast (7 usd per person) rich, tasty with good selection of fruit, chicken, saussages, ham, cheese and eggs. Free luggage room (even for couple days when we flew to Bocas) and shuttle to mall nearby. A taxi or uber cost 4 dollars to the city center or the fish market (Mercado De Marisco Cinta Costera). We made a great choice to book this hotel.
Le Méridien Panama

Marbella
This hotel is very old and in serious need of an upgrade. Only reason I even gave it 2 stars is the location is great and the service was good. The had a weird smell, bathroom did not work properly, and everything is pretty worn down and old. Literally looks like they have not invested in the property for years. Another Marriott product that needs a renovation.
Sheraton Grand Panama

Hotel with extensive facilities, with ******, swimming pool, shops and restaurants. The Las Hadas pastry shop/bar had very good food, good service and was open 24 hours a day. The room was large with a nice view of the Pacific Ocean and they left complimentary bottled water every day. A negative point is that on 1 day they forgot to clean the room. When we called reception to complain, they offered us to do it, but it was already nighttime. As a personal opinion, I didn't like that the bathroom has frosted glass instead of a wall, so I didn't have much privacy.
