Fabulous !! Beautiful hotel. Staff very accommodating! All as described plus there are lounges on the beach.

Enjoyed the unique touch of the open air living room. This resort does give you a very outdoor feeling in a good way. This would not be my first choice if you have kids. I did not find it to be family friendly and think best for adults. It was very beautiful at night.

Our experience was extremely disappointing. From arrival, we encountered one issue after another. The service was poor, with stained rugs and old, squeaky furniture, indicating a dire need for maintenance. The staff were unfriendly and stingy with complimentary coffee and other amenities. As Titanium Elite members with Marriott, we were saddened to see the standards here fall so far below average. We had to call numerous times just to get housekeeping to make up our son’s sofa bed. The staff were unresponsive, and it felt like "wait and wait" was the norm. They lacked basic knowledge about their amenities, such as which cups fit the coffee machine and whether there was bedding for the sofa bed in the room. The front desk repeatedly lied to cover up their mistakes, and when I confronted a staff member, he had no response. We had lunch and dinner at the resort. While lunch was good, we were served a burnt Paella Valenciana for dinner. Despite notifying the server and having photographic evidence, it took 30 minutes to reach a resolution. The manager's initial offer of a 20% discount on burnt food was outrageous, given that the server and chef both acknowledged the dish was burnt. This haggling over an obvious mistake was unlike anything we've encountered before and highlighted the poor standards and lack of ownership. This was our choice for our last day in Costa Rica. We stayed at AC Punta Islita for six nights and drove here a day early to be closer to the airport for our early afternoon flight. We will never stay here again. If this is the level of service during the slow season, I can only imagine how bad it must be during the busy season. We are very disappointed in both Marriott and Enjoy Group. FYI, this experience was shared with the management while departing in complete detail.

The experience was absolutely incredible and the service too. We booked the Scenic Hiking and Waterfall tour, and everything went excellently. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, which made the walk pleasant and educational. The company was very helpful, especially when we had a last-minute change in our schedule, they did everything possible to make sure we had a good time. The waterfall left us speechless and the whole experience was unforgettable. We will definitely return and choose Issys Tours as our designated company. Thank you guys for making our visit to Costa Rica so memorable!

Kenneth, a manager, and Anthony are a couple of the best hosts around. They were just two of the most hospitable of an amazing staff. You feel so welcomed and taken care of. The hotel is one of the most accommodating we've experienced so relax and feel fancy free! ;) We caught Mahi Mahi on a half day boat trip that left from the beach in front the hotel(thanks Blue Marlin from Coco Beach) Of course we have pictures! Kenneth made sure we had it fried up for lunch when we hit the pool side bar and grill!

I’ve been a loyal Marriott traveler for the past twelve years and always enjoy getting to stay at a Bonvoy Autograph Collection property as they beautifully marry the comfort and familiarity of a Marriott property with unique and local flair. El Mangroove was no exception and we knew we had chosen the right accommodations as soon as we arrived. The property is gorgeous. The buildings all felt new and are modern architecture with clean lines and lots of blurred lines between indoor and outdoor living, for example our room had a “living room” area that included a waist-high wall and then floor to ceiling screens above that across the back of the room. It was perfect to sit in at night because it was bug free, but we felt like we were outside and could enjoy hearing all the night sounds. The front lobby and all the dining options were also open air (but with a roof of course) so you can enjoy all the scenery of Costa Rica while you dine. I can’t imagine how many horticulturists they must employ, but the grounds are incredibly beautifully manicured. I don’t think I saw a single **** or dead leaf the entire time I was there, and everything is lush and lovely, almost like staying in a botanical gardens. We ate at two of their restaurants plus ordered room service twice, and the food was delicious. {Note: if you are a frequent Marriott traveler and your status affords you the choice of a welcome amenity, we would highly recommend choosing the breakfast. The buffet is large and everything on it is excellent and if made it so easy to wake up, walk out to breakfast and enjoy and then go off on whatever adventure we had planned for the day. One less thing to have to choose/locate/drive to each morning.} Our room was lovely (we stayed in building 1 which was convenient as it was closest to everything so we didn’t have to walk far or take a golf cart, but it was still quiet at night.), beds were comfortable, everything was clean and we loved the variety of cookies we got each night at turn down service. The property also features a lovely spa (we didn’t choose any services, but did enjoy spending time in the relaxation pool and steam room), workout facility, beachfront location with complimentary paddle board and kayaks for guest use, and five swimming pools! One pool is adult-only (which I always appreciate having when I’m traveling in an adults-only group), and the other four are of various sizes, depths and settings and available for anyone of any age to use. PRO TIP: if you are traveling with kiddos, heads up that there is a GORGEOUS playground that is tucked away to the right of the main lobby building sort of behind some meeting room space. It has kind of a secret-garden feel and all the equipment looks brand new and was perfect for my daughter (including soccer goals and ball!) We stumbled upon it by accident on our second-to-last day on the property, and it was our only negative from our stay that we hadn’t been told about it when we che

Small, intimate resort. Quality Food drinks & staff are amazing. Rooms are so comfortable with top amenities . We’ve been 3 times & plan to go back over Thanksgiving. We feel like family. Breakfast buffet is absolutely incredible! Entire grounds are kept exceptionally clean.

El Mangroove is absolutely beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is an excellent location to check out, enjoy nature and tap into the pura vida life. Bryan went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He was very kind and attentive. We looked forward to seeing him at the pool. Fabian made absolutely delicious cocktails. Looking forward to visiting again!
