Roman Empire Panglao Boutique Resort

Panglao|1.45km from city centre
Reservations team was so responsive and accommodating. Front desk staffs were more transactional. They can't seem to like interacting with guests since by the time we arrived until we checked out. F and B staffs were more courteous like saying Hi and hello. Housekeeping was helpful. Aircon works well. Room is clean. I love the hot and cold shower as well. We love the easy access to the pool. We had the room on the ground floor which is good for us. Minor issues : - they don't provide extra bed for extra person. Room towel as well. Very limited. However, we managed to ask pool towels from Hk team since we are mostly swimming and we really need extra towels. - front desk is just until 10pm so if you need anything, you have to check it before reception closes. But actually they have guard at night who was so helpful as well. I requested a bath mat from front desk and nothing came until i met a guy from Hk and he sent one. - though the front desk was not so helpful. Other team was able to fulfill their lapses. So its okay. We are not demanding people. its just that we lacked those in our room which are basic. Housekeeping must to check on this before check in time so we can reduce our time and effort. But overall, we had a great stay. We felt at home and we enjoyed the big pool. My son had a great time at the pool. The resort is like 5 minutes drive away from the beach. But theres tricycle outside. Kuya driver was so nice to us. Didnt demand for a high price unlike other tricycle drivers. If you need good tricycle driver. His plate number is #357.

Bohol Coastal View Hotel

Panglao|1.57km from city centre
The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining what things to see and how to get there. The room was as advertised, the size was correct and as we selected the king bed ocean view, the big balcony was perfect to enjoy the view. We loved the pools. The hotel location is quiet, if you don’t mind the neighbourhood roosters (pretty much everywhere). As the hotel is located a bit far from the town though, they provide a complementary shuttle to get to go to the beach. Of you want more freedom and as a tuk tuk ride cost around 200P one way, we would recommend renting a scooter to go around. We rented one at the hotel (Suzuki Bugman street) for 400P, it’s 50P more than what you could get in town, but it’s convenient. The scooter carried both of us to the chocolate hills, and all other places we wanted to see. The breakfasts were pretty straightforward with three choices, Filipino Tosilog (more a grilled porc), a continental that was my choice after trying the tosilog, and an Asian one, my partner tried the dumpling and well this was a real disappoin**ent. There is one thing I really didn’t liked is that the coffee isn’t brewed, then if you want a small cup of brewed is 150P and the juice is additional charge of 190P. All hotel everywhere have brewed coffee and juice included with breakfast. Something I told the hotel’s owner. Would we recommend that hotel? Definitely yes, for the room, the view, the staff.

Amihan Resort

We had a great time staying at this resort. Their staff were nice and welcoming. There were regular power outages in the area but the resort had their own generator so it wasn't really an issue, just that our rooms were right next to where they kept the generators so it was a bit loud when they're on. The power usually came back right before we slept during the night so it was no problem. Rooms are spacious, they have really soft blankets and pillows. Bathroom was nice as well, they had bidets which is the most important lol. The minibar and snacks inside the room aren't complimentary but no problem because we brought our own. They provided towels as well but not allowed to be brought outside the resort which I guess is understandable. They have a 'shortcut' to Alona beach, about a 5-10 minute walk depends on how long your limbs are lol but definitely a quicker route than when you go along the main road. No street lights though so if you go during the night, better bring a torch. The resort and the streets outside were really quiet so you could really relax but on our last night there were Chinese guests in the room right next to ours and they were banging the doors and screaming at 12mn, they were being so damn loud I thought they were banging on OUR doors but it was the only annoying thing about our stay. Overall, we had a great time and we'll definitely recommend this place to our friends and ofcourse, we'll come back if we ever visit Bohol again.

Dumaluan Beach

Panglao Grande Resort

Panglao Grande Resort

Panglao|0.05km from Dumaluan Beach
We recently (January 2020) stayed at the Panglao Grande Resort in Bohol. We give this resort 7/10. The first reason for this is because the resort is not 100% “ready” meaning the road to the resort is not complete. There is a caveat to this though and that is a legal battle between the resort and the neighbors who purchased land and the road to the resort with it. This is NOT the fault of the resort and they have an alternate dirt road that they use to transport to and from, but it just makes it less “comfortable.” The second reason is for the restaurant which leaves some things to be desired. They don’t accept credit cards, they were constantly out of food (I’m talking early in the morning for breakfast when they should be ready to go for the day). The third reason is credit cards at the hotel, meaning they don’t accept them. We understand that things happen and internet goes down from time to time, but to promote yourself as a resort and not accept credit cards in 2020 is just not up to snuff. On the other hand... The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating (we will give them a 9/10) with all aspects of the resort. They put us in an upgraded room when the AC in our unit went out, they were quick to help with travel off the resort and also to plan tours and excursions. Always with a smile ready to assist with our luggage. The staff really made our stay pleasant. Let’s talk rooms... We had an opportunity to stay in 3 rooms during our visit. The first is room 18 which we DO NOT recommend. It feels like a staff quarters and is just not dressed properly for guests. The second was a pool side room #25 and this one was dressed properly, but had no view. The third was #3 and this one was GREAT! Facing the ocean, Private little entrance, tile floor, just good to go (oh, except the shower water pressure... they need to correct that). Location, location, location... This resort is off the beaten path, meaning it’s not in the party area (Alona Beach). It was quiet at night, chill and very relaxing. The beach was usually with handfuls of people at most and not crowded at all like Boracay or Alona. The area was kept clean and the staff did a wonderful job to make sure the grounds of the property and leading up to it from the beach were nice. We have been to the party spots before and it’s all good if you are in that kind of mode, but if you want to chill and spend time with your partner this place has you covered. Overall we were very happy with our stay. This is NOT a Hilton, so don’t expect that, it’s a province, keep that in mind. Final thoughts... Nice place. Budget friendly. It hits the marks for what you need.

Having our wedding at Bellevue Resort was definitely the best choice! Our wedding was delayed by Covid for 3 years and there were a few staff changes and Sheila Baldo has picked up where the last events manager left off without a hitch. She was always available, polite and open to ideas. We looked around at other venue options and the beach front privacy and luxe experience Bellevue offers are incomparable. What we love most about the event was the food which was above and beyond the expectation for a buffet - it certainly tasted like fine dining, the attention to details and the execution of everything we have agreed on. My family and I have had such a great time spending our wedding and holiday/reunion in Bellevue. The daily breakfast buffet options were always exciting and cater to locals and foreigners alike. The koi pond is always a hit - you can do fish feeding, and I never tire walking past them. During our 5 day stay, they always have a quiet event at their beach front which says a lot about them being a very good choice as an events space for your important occasions. Some nights they had a live band to serenade diners at the restaurant. The staff - they are unbelievable! They were quick, accommodating, friendly and always at your service. What needs improvement on, however, was their spa and their massage therapists. We spoke to Drew, the manager, and plans to remedy this were actually on the way! I guess next time, we will have to try this out!

Alona Hidden Dream Resort by SMS Hospitality

First if all, the place is located right on the main street leading to Alona beach, and it's very noisy day and night (for those who might care). Second, no Wi-Fi in the room, and barely working one on the porch, so you have to sit on a hard wooden bench in the pool area if you want to use internet. Third, when we arrived and checked in into our room with ”garden view” we found out that our view is the wall of the room in front, shared ”porch”, which is more like a narrow alley filled with hanging laundry. When we asked the staff politely about the ”garden view” mismatch, the two receptionists instead of offering a solution directly started to blame it on us, saying that we (I quote) ”didn't request a garden view”. In my understanding, if it's written in the room description, it's included, and there was no note about requesting it anywhere. Clearly, they just wanted to get rid of me without fixing anything. All I wanted is to be moved to another room. They didn't propose that, so I asked if they had another room with a proper porch available, they rudely said no, that's all we have and turned away. After I asked again if there is anything available tomorrow or the day after, or even a different type of room, finally with very annoyed attitude admitted that there is one tomorrow that we could move to. Clearly, my trust is already shaken, so I asked them to see the room first. They made a whole scene about this, but finally showed me the room next to ours, which was better. The restaurant has similar service. We ordered 3 dishes, it took 40 minutes for them to bring one of them, and it was wrong. We sent it back, waited another 15 minutes and finally got all our food, which was very mediocre. Really not with the price and the waiting. After all this we really didn't want to stay in this place, so we booked another hotel, and went to tell them that we will be checking out. Got shouted at again saying that our booking is not refundable. Forget it. Even the swimming pool, the only nice thing about this hotel, couldn't be enjoyed because of the construction next door. The workers would stare from the roof and one even got down and was peeping over the fence...

Purely. The bed is comfortable. Nice blanket. We asked for a kettle in our room and they brought it to us along with mugs and water. Friendly girls. There is a bakery on the ground floor. One bad thing - it was very noisy on the last night, and some cat was screaming every night and it was impossible to sleep.

We stayed here during our family summer vacation and the room that we got was a steal for its price. The room was clean and it could accommodate 5 people. We had a slight problem with the restroom since the drainage was clogged but they were able to fix it when we reported it. I just don’t know why they designed the comfort room in such a way where you won’t be able to face the mirror when you brush your teeth because the toilet is in the way. So, if you would brush your teeth, you would have to do it from the side. Probably one of the reasons why this room was discounted. In any case, the location of the hotel was beach front and the crew was very dependable and attentive to our needs. So, if you want an affordable beach front accommodation and just a clean and homey place to stay, you may want to consider booking here. Our stay was just ok I guess.

This shop is on the side of the road, breakfast is very general, is set a set and set B two packages. Extra bed to add money, basically the simplest apartment, the extra bed is relatively narrow! There is a fruit shop downstairs, fresh, but the price is average! Ice cream on the bee farm on the edge of the beach can come a few times a day, delicious and not expensive!
