Hotel Pas de Calais

There are a great many 4-star boutique hotels in Paris, but it is hard to believe that there is a nicer one than the Hotel Pas de Calais, where my wife and I have stayed several times. From the moment you step inside, are greeted cheerfully by whomever is manning the front desk, and see the wall of orchids and greener adorning the lobby, you know that you are in a special place. Although it is conveniently located just steps away from the bustling Blvd San Germain, the hotel is very quiet. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable, and the staff are unfailingly helpful. Highly recommended.

Hotel Pas DE Calais was amazing! The staff was professional and very attentive to our every need! Louise, Vivian and Emma were fantastic. My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and they had a lovely bottle of red wine sent to our room. It was a pleasure to talk to Alex, the owner as he was busy planting flowers and overseeing everything. The location was perfect, one block off Saint Grmaine Blvd. in the 6th Arrondissement.

A discreetly elegant residence in a quiet street within the heart of beautiful Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Our suite was beautifully appointed and all staff were very welcoming and accomodating. Special thank you to Rabea who looked after us at breakfast. We look forward to returning soon.

Overall this hotel is nice, I’ll review some pros and cons of our experience. The location is fabulous, we really loved the St Germain area. It’s not too busy but busy enough. You can easily walk to many icon attractions such as the Louvre, the Arc, the Museum D’Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, many many restaurants to choose from. The atmosphere in the hotel is very nice and the staff is excellent, Valerie, Rebeca from the kitchen staff. Many others that unfortunately we did not get their names. Very clean, low noise levels and breakfast was very good. Value is very good as well compared to others in the area. The cons, the rooms are extremely small and hard to store your luggage. The bathrooms we found very small and poorly laid out, also our shower door leaked because it didn’t seal closed, a real negative. The bathroom doors are glass offering very little privacy, just an fyi. Last thing is the spiral stairs are very tricky, our room was poorly located on a turn and the elevator is very tiny, 2 at most. Thanks to the staff for their services.

This small family owned hotel is ideally located for the tourist who wants a quiet, friendly place to stay. A walk in the surrounding streets and you’ll witness locals eating and shopping. The place is authentically French, and Valerie and staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are immaculately clean. Very modern bathroom. There are plenty of places nearby for lunch and dinner which the hotel doesn’t serve. This is where I’ll stay next time I’m in Paris.

This was our first time staying at Hotel Pas de Calais and our second visit to Paris. My husband and I truly enjoyed our 5 night stay here and every staff member were so nice and helpful. I speak a little French but my husband does not. Not to worry, the concierge staff all spoke English. We stayed in a superior double room on the 4th floor and it was clean, spacious enough for the both of us, had a spacious bathroom with shower and tub, as well as a small balcony. The bed was comfortable with housekeeping services and bottles of water daily. We did not order breakfast but saw a few guests enjoying in the morning. The location cannot be beat as we were within minutes of staples like Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore. We also loved that this was on a quiet side street just off the main Blvd Saint-Germaine. The hotel itself was a quiet and calm space which we enjoyed immensely after a long day of walking and roaming the Paris streets. They even kindly kept my butter frozen for the night before our return flight. I am looking forward to staying here again and bringing our 16-year-old daughter as well.
