Great location for the south-west coast path. Room comfortable but the quality of the service, food and drink was outstanding. Breakfast menu and dinner in particular had a broad range of locally sourced foods that were cooked and prepared beyond our expectation. Wine and beer choices were equally as impressive. We've travelled quite a bit in North Devon and this is a gem of a place.

This Hotel never fails to deliver. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and always go the extra mile to ensure your needs are met. Food is excellent tasty and reasonable. Venue is lovely, it's a warm and inviting, clean and comfortable. Great place to visit 😀 😊

We called in on a Tuesday evening just before six and the bar staff were incredibly rude and short, telling us there were no tables despite the place having plenty of empty seats and tables. I wouldn't bother trying here - shame as it looked a lovely family pub from the outside!

This was the first of what will be many visits. Visited for a pint and a meal. The staff were nice and friendly. The meal was simply amazing! The steak was the best I have had for a long time, with generous portions. Ale was nice as well and served at a good temperature. Can't wait to return.

Just a beautiful and lovely hotel. Quaint in all the right ways but still having the modern amenities people now expect. The bar area had lots of nooks to sit in and enjoy a drink at the end of a busy day. Staff helpful, and the breakfast superb. When back visiting our friends will definitely use this hotel again.

We ate here last night, gorgeous building with lots of quirkiness and art for sale. We only had mains so can’t comment on the starters but they were huge and it’s more like a gastro pub menu. 2 of us had the Duck which was incredible, cooked to perfection and the spiced apricot gel complimented it beautifully. My son had the Burger which was huge and so tasty with cheese and bacon jam. My husband had the Hake with Mussels, all so good. The staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive, we had a fabulous time and would not hesitate to recommend it 5*

Ci sono stata con il mio compagno purtroppo solo per una notte. La camera era molto carina e pulita. Il pub sotto è molto bello, la sala colazione sembra la sala di un castello. Hanno un beer garden sul retro, favoloso. Anche la cucina è buona. Consigliato.

I have now used Hoops Inn three times, often to break a lengthy journey to the west country. It is a pleasing establishment a few miles outside Bideford and set on a country lane. It boasts a thatched roof and I always book Room 2, which has a 4 poster bed and an indoor jacuzzi tub. The room has character and even though it overlooks the road, traffic noise is minimal. The bathroom is spacious and has modern facilities with soft fluffy towels and bathrobes. The bed is comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh and the staff pleasant, though I found it challenging to locate anyone to seat me on arrival in the morning. Dinner is served until 21:00. Prices for both rooms and food have risen quite significantly since I was last here a couple of years ago and I fear that the cost of what is basically pub food might have come close to pricing itself out of the market. Overall a pleasant stay.
