Arrived late and it was easy as they left the keys and instructions at the reception. Cabin was clean. Appliances are ok except they have this tiny TV which is really outdated. Would be great if they a separate air-conditioning unit in the bedroom instead of just one in the living area. It was quite noisy and should upgrade. as a one night stay it was ok but would have to consider if staying longer.
Really loved my stay at NRMA Halls Gap!! It’s really clean! They even had heated beds, but one side is unplugged, without a plug nearby.
There’s a car lot available right beside the villa. Makes unloading our stuff really easy and accessible.
Going to Grampians on Saturday, the room is relatively small, so we have to book in advance, we can only stay for half an hour or so, stay in this house, but the town has a supermarket, shopping is convenient. Breakfast is free, it is bread milk and cereal cereal, which is relatively simple, and it is a bit cold to eat. The bed is 1.5 meters, and the sleeping family is a bit crowded.
I am overall very satisfied with my stay at Motel Stawell for an impromptu visit to The Grampians.
The room was spacious and clean, well supplied and serviced and also well located to drive to Halls Gap (25 minutes).
The bonus was finding out that Netflix was available on the TV. It's worth mentioning that sound insulation is quite poor however. The location of the motel is right on the Western Highway and as it's a main arterial for Stawell, the heavy vehicle traffic can be heard throughout the day and evenings.
In a campsite, the surrounding area is very convenient, with shops and supermarkets. The kitchen in the cabin is fully equipped and the sanitary conditions are OK. There were many kangaroos and parrots flying around. It's basically a self-service model with no service. The check-in time marked by Ctrip is wrong, and the staff gets off work at 17:00. But I left the key, so it's very convenient to check in by yourself.
Our idea was to relax and travel to the Grampians national park which is rather close. The room was facing the lake and we enjoyed the birds. The immensities were very good and served our needs .
The reviews does not justify this place. The hotel is old but in terms of cleanliness and comfort of bed is spot on! Location is very ideal too if you are planning to visit Boroka Lookout and McKenzie Falls.
We arrived during check in time to find the office unattended and another traveller trying to contact them by phone.
After a 15 minute wait someone came to the office. They checked us in but when we went to the room and opened the door there was a very surprised man in there who had also been given this room.
Another phone call and wait time for staff to return and sort out another room. We finally got there but after a long drive and both wanting to use the bathroom we found there was no toilet paper in the room.. that took another 2 phone calls and about 15 minutes to sort out.
I booked this accommodation because it has a swimming pool. I went to use the pool to find it was locked and after another call was told that they think the filter is broken. Nothing on their information said the pool was not available and it appears it has been that way for a while.
We loved the location and I'd probably stay there again.. I'll just be prepared for the lack of quality service. We didn't let it spoil our stay..
