We have been stay here long time. That property is located in hill top where you can see the nice view. Staffs are well groomed and they are very polite. They give us nice hospitality. We enjoyed the food over there specially thanks to Mr. Prabhakar, Ms.Choden, Ms. Narki, Ms. Sangeeta. We will visit again.

Only thing luxurious is its location. This is May & without a fan or AC, it was stuffy inside the room at night. Bugs was an issue too. So basically you can either switch on the lights at night or keep the windows open for some ventilation. Food is fine. Overall had much better expectation from the Elgin properties.

My best relaxing holiday. The travel from Bagdogra was tiring but the property is very beautiful. Just the right place for senior citizens to enjoy fresh air and good healthy food. Very smiling staff and lovely gardens. Given a chance I will go again.

Had heard a lot about the Elgin from family and the unique heritage experience it offers. Decided to drop in for lunch, rather a bit late. The colonial interiors were beautiful and as we stepped into the outdoor dining space, we were greeted by the Kanchenjunga range... it was a little cloudy but we still could make out the mountains. It was an amazing and well kept place. The gardens were flush with flowers in every hue and colour. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Food was superb and well presented. Be prepared for a wait for food nevertheless as everything is prepared only upon order. Once your order is taken, the staff goes into the kitchen and come back with an estimated time to serve. They start preparing once you give a conformation. We were given 40 mins which we accepted gladly. Just loved this as this was the first time we experienced this kind of service. Overall a very unique and pleasurable experience.

Pleasant stay .. but not as exclusive as the Gangtok Elgin ppty which we have given a higher perfect rating ! Bath tub and shower but the water was not hot enough and so cud barely use . Food spread and taste was average .. room was cozy comfortable and with beautiful mt pandium view but this was after request . First night room was with a dirty green done view with poor bath fitting. For the price paid definitely they shud avoid giving such. Rooms to customers . Special mention manager at lobby , bartender and the ladies in the dining room were attentive.

The Hotel Property is excellent, the staff is superb, Food is good. The location is the best. The Hotel being an old British age Construction does not Have a lift in the main Building. Thus it is a pain to clim floors which could be 2-3 Floors. There appears to be Power cuts in Pelling, the Hotel does not have 100% Power back up thus the guest may have to sleep in the room without Heater and take a bath with Cold water. The worst is if any Guest desire to Talk to Managing Director to explain the problem he is not ready to talk to the guest on Phone nor returns the call.

While The Royal Retreat boasts a rich heritage and history, the overall experience falls somewhat short of expectations. Certain aspects of the stay could be improved. On the positive side, the staff members are friendly and courteous Despite their best efforts, some requests may take longer to fulfill than expected.

The Elgin property in Pelling is exquisite in every sense- decor , room , food , service , location . The view of the Kanchanjunga ranges is spectacular especially during sunrise . We had a fantastic stay at this hotel . The stay at this hotel made our holiday extra special .

My room was under my husband’s name : Mr.Abhishek Madan. I would request everyone not to support these big property having only outside beauty and no services to provide at all. I would really like to mention that having a beautiful property doesn’t only fulfil the needs of a guest. I had the most pathetic experience in this property. The hotel was pretty much aware that we are going to check in late. After check in, we wanted to relax as it was a long journey. Such a big property and the geyser had the capacity to fill half of the bucket. What is the purpose of having a big bath tub, showers, etc. There is no way that we could have taken bath under those circumstances. This wasn’t enough, when we are calling the room service and reception, we have been told and I quote, “hun kya kar sakte hai, subah dekhenge”. Am I living in my own house or a luxury resort on a hill station? We were denied when we asked to talk to manager. Even in morning Manager was not even aware of the situation. Elgin has ruined the mood of our Honeymoon and all we got in response se “hum kya kar sakte hai”.
