We did a girls trip to MLL last weekend for the Dirty Dancing weekend. It was magical! The hotel grounds were absolutely amazing and so relaxing! We stayed in the main stone lodge so we didn’t have AC (not that we needed it in October) a TV or a refrigerator so keep that in mind if you have children or take a cooler with and use the ice machine in the hallway. Our room was squeaky clean and they even had extra comfortable blankets for that cool mountain air! The main stone lodge also does not have an elevator so also take that into consideration when booking and since I’ve seen a few negative reviews on here, I’m going to address those here: if you are looking for a 5 STAR ROOM/CABIN at a Hilton or something of that sort, you’ll be disappointed here and you’ll more than likely write a horrible review later… BUT… if you are there to experience the magic of a true masterpiece of originality and nature of historial significance for maintaining over 2000 acres of protected land and wilderness along with the DD film locations, a great time with your friends and family and a wonderful opportunity to LEARN about this historic place, then this is the weekend/place for you!!!!! Everything for our stay was all inclusive with our package. 2 buffet dinners, 2 buffet breakfasts and one picnic lunch. Everything was magnificent! The activities were also included with our package. The cool thing was you had plenty of options with different times to do things if you wanted to do all, you could. If you wanted to do a few then chill in your room, you could also do that. We opted for the $29 extra tour with Mountain Lake Lodge Excursions and Bo and Mike were AMAZING. We had booked the 3:45PM tour that didn’t interfere with any of the other DD activities that were planned for us for the day. It ended up that no one else booked for that time so it was just the three of us on another “girls” adventure! Bo gave us so much history and information on the place and how it is still prospering today due to their amazing ability to adapt to changes and demands decade after decade and after the lake “disappeared”. Not to mention we were able to see the very top of the mountain with the most spectacular views and it was my personal favorite part of the weekend! So if you’re looking for a magical place to spend some time enjoying nature and exploring with your friends or family DO IT! If you want to take a girls trip to do a Dirty Dancing weekend, DO IT! This is truly a diamond in the rough! Thank you MLL for an amazing weekend 💃🏻 🕺🏼
