Kura Kura Resort Gili Meno Reviews

This is a cheap hotel so I wasn’t expecting anything amazing, however, this hotel fell way below standard. The pictures of the hotel on Trip are not accurate- in fact I can see one of the pictures is an AI render and is in no way representative of the actual hotel. The room is damp and dingy, not clean at all and the walls are crumbling. I had booked 3 nights and left after 2 as I really couldn’t stay here. It’s a shame because the staff here are amazing; very kind and attentive, genuinely interested in talking to me and helpful with suggesting what to do on the island. They seemed sad when I left early but o really needed to get out. The location is good, 5 mins walk from the port and they have a beach front restaurant. The food was average, but that was consistent across all the restaurants I tried on Gili Meno.

Everything about Kira Kira was fantastic! Location was great, staff was so kind and incredibly accommodating, room and bathroom were large and spotless. Spa services were great - felt like a high end resort for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!!

During the Spring Festival, my family of 6 came to Gili M Island and stayed at Kurakura. I strongly recommend staying here. It was better than I expected. Although the hotel is not a five-star hotel, the room is clean and big. Although it was the rainy season, we stayed for 5 days. Although there were many clouds, we encountered a light rain for 1 hour. It was heavier at night, which did not affect the fun at all. We booked a connecting room with 2 children. There were 2 large beds, 2 single beds, and 3 rooms in total. There is also a small swimming pool. The island is very quiet. I met 1 Chinese in 5 days during the Spring Festival. Turn right when you go out and you will see an ATM machine, where you can withdraw cash with UnionPay. You can only use cash on the island, not credit cards. It was really unexpected. The hotel is located at the M Island Pier, and it takes only 1 minute to get off the boat. You can rent a bicycle to go around the island. Walking past the pier on the left is a good snorkeling area, with huge corals, rich colors, many turtles, and even more fish. Turn right and walk a few minutes to the small turtle base. Cross to the other side of the island, ride a bike for 5 minutes, and go down to the sea to see the most famous underwater sculptures. There are also many turtles and lionfish here. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic and I love it here. The hotel restaurant is right at the door, facing the sea. The slow life on the island is great, a perfect trip for the Spring Festival.

Good hotel. The location to the beach and pier is simply ideal. Breakfast on the seashore. The rooms are tired, but not critical. The bed is comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Convenient location, on the first line, right next to the pier from where the boat goes to Trawangan. For breakfast you can choose nasi goreng - quite filling. Breakfast with a pleasant sea view. There is a convenient hanger for drying things outside. The windows are only on the side of the doors; they always have to be curtained. A very old, yellowed toilet seat should be replaced.

For such an island, this is a good hotel, the staff are great, they solve everything, give advice on everything, the room is more or less suitable for a short stay, we stayed for 2 nights, the most important advantage, in our opinion, is that breakfasts are held on the shore and you can always have a snack here. The hotel is located about 30 meters to the left of the pier where the boats arrive. Having a snack with a view of the ocean is worth a lot.

I really liked the island and the very quiet and clean hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast at the hotel was very tasty.

In short, Kura Kura needs a lot of fixing and renovating. Everything: the bed, the sofa, the wardrobe, deckchairs, bedding and the walls need to be changed or fixed. All the equipment in the room or a restaurant is used and in bad condition. The cups which we had in the room were with tea stains. The sheets had holes. The curtains had lots of stains, the walls were crumbling. When it comes to cleanliness, well …the staff needs to learn how to tidy. A few minutes spent in the room won’t make it clean. Ecology is a priority for me but the staff should change the towels more often. Lastly, the food in the restaurant. Again, the cook (I can’t use the name chef) should improve his/her cooking skills. Dishes with noodles were OK, others were not tasty and I am not very picky. We had four breakfasts included, twice we did not get the fruit which they should serve with breakfast. The staff, well … some people were OK, some looked tired and absent-minded. All in all, first, you should renovate the property, next, train your staff.

You understand the term paradise when you arrive on Gili Meno. A beautiful, quiet, island for those like us seeking a truly authentic Indonesian escape away from the busyness of the other Gili Islands. We feel so lucky and blessed to have seen a promotion for Kura Kura resort on Gili Meno which offered a four night package including transport from our hotel in Southern Lombok. The wonderful Adi took our booking and arranged all our transport with a fabulous driver, Dewa. They could not have been more helpful and kind. Look for the Kura Kura web page kurakuragilimeno as there are a number of other hotels with similar names. On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown our room. A pool with excellent shading is just outside every room of this boutique hotel. The restaurant right on the beach overlooking Gili Air and the mountains of Lombok behind is an extraordinarily beautiful space to sit and plan the day over breakfast. Being just next to the port makes it so easy to catch the regular ferries that come and go every hour to visit the other two islands each just fifteen minutes away. Kura Kura was absolutely perfect for our four night stay. Our stay was made even more memorable by the attention and care we received from all the staff who looked after us. Right next to the Meno Dive Club so perfect location if you are diving with them, too easy! Good breakfast, Wakan at the restaurant was friendly and helpful, thankyou. The rooms are true to the photos and in my opinion good value for money. Wifi was good and worked well throughout. It's great to have a bathroom in Gili Meno that isn't open air, that sealed the deal for me - no mosquitos to fight off whilst having a shower. Pool was relaxing and beautifully fresh after a day of activity. Poolside is quiet and relaxing. The harbour is so close, made it easy with luggage, no need for a cidomo ride and the activity of the harbour was interesting, never too loud etc, very relaxing. If I was visiting to dive I would definately go there again. If you are snorkelling it is a 5 - 10 min walk to good snorkelling spots from the beach.

Nice place to stay in Gili Meno, easy access just near the jetty when arriving by boat. Convenient location, easy for swimming and snorkeling or take a boat yo visit other islands.. All the staff is smiling, welcoming and helpful, rooms are large and comfy. Nice place to stay for few days.

Great hotel close to harbour, all staff very accommodating food good, room 11 and 12 perfectly positioned at the top of the fly proof roofed pool, very private area. Whole place is very reasonably priced definitely worth a visit if your staying on meno
