We ate in the restaurant ….it is under new management . The menu was comprehensive and the dishes we were served were delicious. Good fresh seafood , local steak beautifully presented. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and the outside beer garden clean and well kept. Reasonable set menu for £25.50 for two courses, amply portions . We felt we had all had a good meal. No complaints but a note to the owners /managers…..is it would be a better if the restaurant wasn’t full of baby and toddler paraphernalia and your waiting staff were a little more on the ball.

A beautiful pub we have been dying to try for a long time. We always drive past on the way to Cowbridge and think what a lovely pub it looks! The outdoor seating in front of the pub is really lovely. It has the sun all day and has umbrellas for those who’d rather the shade. We sampled the lunch menu which we thought was really well priced for an upmarket pub (2 courses £22.50, 3 courses £27.50). A good variety of options and the food was absolutely delicious. The deco inside the pub is very homely yet modern. I rarely write reviews but wanted to make sure I did for this pub. A special mention for Tamsin, our waitress, who was really bubbly and friendly. It was lovely to receive service with a smile! She made our visit all the more wonderful, so thank you x

Had lunch in the pub and the food was ok but the bar staff/ waitress was a bit useless as her knowledge of drinks/wine needs work. She caused the pub to lose out on orders of alcoholic drinks. She didn’t know what a kir royale was and when tried to explain and she did suggest having grenadine as a substitute however, the moment was lost and ordered a Diet Coke instead as not a regular drinker but it was mother says so wanted to have a treat. We had asked for an another round of drinks (cokes and beer) but it didn’t come. Asked for table water and had to ask again a few times then wanted a dessert wine and she didn’t know what that was and got me the wine list but again after asking a few times the moment had passed to order another round of drinks so we got the bill and left. The food was very greasy and one of the mains was swimming in butter/oil which wasn’t pleasant. It was ok and tasted fine but not worth the money.

Lovely country inn. Very friendly. A bit out of town 8 mins. Only drawback was no breakfast, but not a problem as Cowbridge has plenty of nice options.
