Microtel by Wyndham Penn Yan Finger Lakes Region

Very clean room, comfy bed, couldn't beat the price, andwalking distance to everything downtown - great overnight stay!

This Microtel is a rarity these days: a clean, no frills, budget friendly hotel with a friendly and attentive staff. Great location in the heart of Penn Yan village. The rooms are a bit smaller than the other chains down the road, and the breakfast a little more sparse, but that’s about it.

The location was right downtown within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Although there wasn’t a lot open during the weekend and evening. We did go to the Kueka Restaurant around the corner and the food was really good. The beds were very comfortable, and I’m pretty picky. There were plenty of pillows for both beds. Although the pillows were a little fluffy, for my liking, so you have to like big fluffy pillows. There were two outlets for each bed, and like in most hotel rooms, the person who sleeps on the outside doesn’t get an outlet. Luckily there was two places across the room to plug your items in, including one USB port. There’s a small closet, refrigerator, and microwave. The room was not large, 2 queen beds and not a lot of place if you needed a cot or crib. Our room, 207, was right in front of a street light, so the light beamed into our bedroom all night. It made it hard to sleep, but it is what it is. If you need something darker don’t use that room. The breakfast was pretty bad: muffins, cereals, some fresh fruit, waffles, and the worst part is flavored/syrupy creamers for your coffee. Luckily, I always bring my own plain creamer to hotels for instances like this. I like a good cup of coffee.

Due to Keuka college graduation weekend, the price was jacked up. Room was clean, staff was friendly and knowledgeable of places to eat.

Staff was welcoming and very kind. Rooms were comfortable and clean.Good breakfast. Parking was limited. Really need more parking. We would definitely stay here again, though.
