This hotel is very nice, and the room was clean, big enough, and comfortable. However, the best of this hotel is its staff. I used a CPAP machine so I needed some distilled water to use it. I came very late in the night to check-in in at the hotel because of flight getting delayed. Charlotte and James (I hope I am saying his name correctly) were so friendly, and attentive, and did everything they could to get me the water I needed. James even went to the grocery store for me and got me the water that I needed. Going the extra way to help me out, was incredible for me! I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends and will definitely be staying from now on in this hotel when I come to visit East Peoria.

I’m basically writing this review to warn other’s about the experience our niece & nephew just had while there on Saturday Dec 4th. Sunday morning they realized they forgot their toothpaste so they called down to the receptionist to request housekeeping to bring them up some. They said they would send someone so In the mean time, they went down for the continental breakfast & my niece didn’t think anything about needing her purse so she left it in their room. Well, once they arrived back they see the toothpaste & my niece notices money missing from her purse! Over $400 gone! They contact the receptionist/manager & they question the person that entered their room & of course, denied it. My nephew did end up talking to the owner & he refuses to take any kind of action or do anything. Like I first said, this is a warning review.

This hotel needs two separate ratings. The first one is for the staff. Every staff person I talked to was genuinely nice, helpful, and friendly. The staff is WONDERFUL. Five stars for the staff. The pantry in the lobby is nice and quite affordable. I used it a lot and appreciate that the pricing for items was fair. I didn't use the lending library of kitchen appliances but it looked like it had a lot of decent items that would be helpful for someone staying long-term. The rooms on the other hand are one star rooms right now. The bed and mattress are the absolute worst I've ever slept on, without a doubt. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I had back and neck problems the entire time I stayed here and for several days after. The mattresses are so incredibly old and worn out that they are sunken-in and offer absolutely no support. The rest of the room was decent and I had no complaints, but the mattresses are so bad that it ruins the entire experience. We ended up staying in Peoria longer than we had the room reserved, but decided not to extend our stay at this hotel simply because we couldn't sleep on the beds any longer. The staff tell me the hotel will be renovated this spring and I'm really glad to hear that. Once the renovations are done, I would gladly stay here again.

The hotel is very good in every aspect, except that the water in the wash basin is too small and the breakfast is not good.

The room is relatively spacious, newly renovated, and feels better than any of the three-star hotels. Unexpected surprise, new facilities, clean and hygienic, polyurethane flooring in the parking space, ample parking spaces, and the breakfast category is okay, which meets the needs. Friendly staff and excellent service. There is one washing machine and dryer in the laundry room, which costs $5 each, which is relatively expensive!

Outstanding
MMainIngredientThis was the first time I have stayed at a hotel since the start of the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, I was a frequent traveler for work and leisure so I actually was looking forward to the hotel stay, The hotel is conveniently located near the downtown area, ******, and restaurants. It is right at the waterfront which could be really nice in the warm weather. I was greeted warmly by the hotel receptionist. She was very professional and informative. The lobby area and all public areas were extremely clean. Upon entering my room I was very impressed. Everything was sparkling clean and I did not any anxiety whatsoever about staying there. The housekeeper was in the hall when I arrived and also spoke. I left the room to retrieve more items from my vehicle. The housekeeper came to me asked me if the room met my specifications and if she could be of further service. Impressive indeed. I let her know everything was great and I appreciated her inquiring, Upon checkout, continental breakfast is available at the reception desk to go. There were selections of muffins, granola bars, fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee. You could have one or all. My only complaint has to do with some of the visitors. On two occasions, I saw people without masks, although it is clearly posted on the entrance door and the elevator area that masks are mandatory in the hotel, People were sitting in the lobby on one evening-none with masks-socializing. On the day of checkout, a guy was on the elevator without a mask and upon exiting the elevator promenaded around the lobby without a mask. I think this was very disrespectful of the other hotel guests who were abiding by the rules. I could only imagine that the young hotel staff would have a difficult time monitoring and enforcing the wearing of masks. As a practice, people who break rules are often defiant and the receptionist is not equipped to battle with that. How did I handle it, I made sure I had on my mask and provided protection for myself.
NNew_friends_GRI was on a road trip over a long weekend in October 2020 and had the opportunity to spend a Sunday night at this hotel. It was interesting because my reservation was actually for the Courtyard next door, but the Courtyard was closed and all reservations ended up transferring over to this hotel. (Both properties are owned by Marriott.) While I was curious as to what the Courtyard was like, I was quite impressed by the Pere Marquette. My check-in process on Sunday afternoon went fairly smoothly. The staff member checking me in was very friendly and helpful. My room (#821) was clean, comfortable, and very nice overall. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, a lot of the hotel amenities (restaurant, bar, indoor pool, etc.) were not available... so I couldn't experience any of those things. The parking situation was a bit more complicated than it could have been. When I arrived, I parked on one of the side streets nearby... but I guess what I could have done was park in front of the main entrance while I unloaded my car. The parking garage is behind the hotel, and I had to go back to the front desk to have my room key card activated to allow me to enter and exit the parking garage. Not a huge deal but it could have been a bit simpler. The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the web browser on the business center computer was Internet Explorer. I attempted to use the computer for some basic web surfing and whatnot. However, for some of the websites I use, Internet Explorer is not compatible... and a different browser like Google Chrome was not available. That was a bit frustrating. One thing that was interesting was how quiet this hotel was. It was almost eerie... a Sunday evening during a pandemic. Probably very few business travelers. I would have loved to have been here during a non-pandemic time and seen this place bustling with people and business... especially in, say, the restaurant/bar. All in all, I liked this hotel and would definitely not mind staying here again (or maybe the Courtyard) in the future whenever I have the opportunity to visit Peoria again.
GGuest UserThis is a very nice Hampton Inn with a great breakfast. The oatmeal was homemade, not instant, especially good with added fresh banana slices, walnuts, and brown sugar. A waffle bar was available plus French toast slices, egg and cheese on English muffins, and also sausage meats, and more. The room and bathroom were very clean with plenty of towels and extra amenities. Tiffany, the general manager was friendly and accommodating which shows throughout the hotel. We’ll come back on our next visit to Peoria!
GGuest UserWe stayed in rm 314. Pros - Room was clean. Bathroom tub/shower, floors, base of the toilet. Sink area, closet space. Rug was vacuumed well. Clean fridge (didn't open or use the microwave). Coffee fully stocked. No dust. Headboard even appeared to be wiped down (which I really appreciate and some hotel chains don't do regularly enough). Bedding was clean and had a light fresh scent. Nice tv, firm bed. Very comfortable. Breakfast area was good. A lot to choose from, good variety. They had proteins (boiled eggs, eggs cooked to fit on muffins and bacon) of course a large variety of carbs too. Customer service, check in, check out and breakfast attendant were all friendly. Nice area. Close to a lot, restaurants, shopping mall. Cons - No shampoo was in our room. Didn't notice it until the morning. I'm sure if I called the front desk they'd have no problem getting it to us. We had a little left in a travel size bottle in our bag. Just used what we had left and made it work for both of us. At 3:30am we heard an adult size person run down the hallway.
GGuest UserThis place is suitable for neither extended nor stay. It is not even a real hotel. On a scale 0 to 10 where 0 is spending the night on a park bench and 10 is getting pampered at a Ritz Carlton, I rate this place a 2. One notch above a dump. Let me explain: The Grab-n-Go breakfast they hype about is not much more than a basket of vending machine quality muffins, Dollar Store quality breakfast bars, warm watered down coffee, and check this out, Quaker Oatmeal packets with no bowls, cups, milk, or microwave to make oatmeal. The whole breakfast bar is about the same size as the end table in your bedroom, by your bed where you place your phone, watch and glasses as you turn of the light. Front desk service is below terrible. Very unprofessional both in behavior and attire didn't let me check in because she could not find my company's reservation authorization in her computer. I gave her a reservation number. No help. She said she wouldn't let me in unless I have a payment information in the system. I showed her a screen shot of my reservation which *clearly* states that my payment guarantee is in the system; her response: this means nothing to me unless I find it here. I ended up calling my work and get the credit card information again so I can be checked in. In the meantime I am waiting in the lobby soaking wet and tired after a full day work field work on a rainy and cold day and it doesn't even occur to her to say ”go ahead go to your room, relax, rest while I sort out why I can't see your payment information”. I have never met a hotel front desk staff who looks at their hotel's reservation confirmation and said ”this means nothing to me”. The rooms are very aged, out-of-date. There is kitchen but no microwave, no dishwasher. There are cabinets but no plates, glasses, pot and pans. Nothing, just bare cabinets. So my advice: The are way better options in Peoria.
