I booked the place through an online portal. During the booking process, it stated that I did not have to make any advance payment and that I could pay upon arrival. However, two days before the trip, the hotel owner called me and demanded an advance payment of Rs 2000, threatening to cancel my booking otherwise. So, I complied and made the payment. Upon arrival, we initially had a lot of trouble locating the hotel, only to discover that it wasn't a hotel at all. It was just a makeshift arrangement in someone's rundown house. We were the only guests there. Considering the condition of the place, we decided not to stay. The owner refused to refund the advance payment, so we had no choice but to walk away. The only redeeming feature was the view, as you can see in the picture – everything else looked shabby.
