The hotel is worth more than its classification because the room is large and bright like the interior spaces. The breakfast is good and varied and the staff very attentive. Convenient free parking a few tens of meters away

The hotel is very good. Because the urban area of the Douro Valley is small, the hotel is located in the city center. There are parking spaces next to it, and parking is paid for, which is very cheap. The hotel is also more hygienic and the service attitude is also good. The shower was not very good, but the hot water was hot.

Excellent and great value all round. Clean, comfortable, and does the job. Breakfast superb. Rooms were spacious, cosy and clean with very good air con. Great view from room. Close to station and amenities. Superb location for all our needs.

Although staff can speak little English, they are very helpful. The room is simple but clean. The location is excellent. It’s just a half price of a room in Porto and even breakfast is included! Only to those customers with heavy luggage should note that there’s no lift so you’ve to walk to your room no matter which floor you’re staying.

No frills, a bit old/dated, but a killer value in a touristy region. Right downtown Regua, next to train station and several nice restaurants and tasting rooms. Just a couple min walk to the banks of the river. Many wineries within a 5-10 min drive. Mediocre mattress/pillows - but about as you'd expect for the price. I'd stay here again. Not sure if there is an elevator FYI.

Even though it is 2 stars, read a little more. Aged, with mediocre decor and no comfort. Friendly employees, but in need of professional training. Poor breakfast. It should be avoided for light sleepers, as it is next to a busy avenue from the early hours of the morning.

Hotel Império in the city of Peso da Régua in Portugal. It met what we expected with an excellent location, simple but clean, tidy and air-conditioned room. Mine had a view of the Douro River and I found it interesting, in the same way that the breakfast is simple but fulfills its purpose and the daily rate was as expected.

Very weak. Only the price is good. Room 112 with a permeating smell of cigarettes. It seems like they don't leave the windows open until the smell goes away. The shower stall seems very fragile when opening/closing. In the evening, when we returned from the restaurant, the reception was stinking of cigarettes, as if someone had smoked there. We asked for water and there was none. We had to go out and buy it outside the hotel. The beds are reasonable, but creaky. Very small TV screen. The door was sticking to the floor and difficult to open/close. Lack of maintenance!!! The room is next to the street. Even with double glazing, it is very noisy. The breakfast is poor, with very few options, and it is served with ham, not ham. Coffee machine with more options (chocolate, cappuccino, etc.). Not even water is available.

Good hotel. The rooms are rather spacious. As the hotel is located near a roundabout, it is impossible to sleep with the window open due to the noise. Window closed and air conditioning, no problem. The included breakfast is OK. Free parking much appreciated for our group of bikers.
