Best Pet Friendly Hotels in Rhone

Some places are simply unlike anything else, la Suite de l'Île Barbe is one of them. Tucked away on a small island in the middle of the Saône, it feels completely removed from the city despite being just minutes from Lyon. We stayed for a romantic weekend and it exceeded every expectation. The setting is extraordinary. Waking up surrounded by water and greenery, with nothing but birdsong and the gentle sound of the river, is something you won't find in a conventional hotel. It genuinely feels like you've escaped to another world.

Because I didn't want to live in the nearby Cobb-designed monastery dormitory arranged by the team, I temporarily booked this hotel. At night, the moon was high and the black wind was sitting on Uber all the way, passing through the silent stone road and the tall stone house without lights. The driver did not find where the door was at the end of the navigation. Someone answered the phone three or four times. The horror atmosphere was extremely extreme. Under the leadership of the owner, I climbed to the attic on the top floor. The whole building was quiet and silent. I thought I was living alone, so scared that I didn't dare to take off my clothes and turn off the lights and went to sleep. Breakfast at the 7th floor in the morning was moved by the rich breakfast at the bar, and I could see the master's careful preparation. Then someone came to have breakfast, only to find that the 5 rooms are full, but they are all big boys, the quality is too high. After breakfast, I left to meet with the big army. I found out that I was in a vineyard on the top of the mountain and was moved. Because I booked too late last night, the host didn't pay attention to the reservation news. The price of more than 600 nights is too suitable for staying a few more nights to experience French rural life. 20 min walk to town center. I bought fruit in the morning market in front of the church.

Great hotel, location is quite central but also away from the main area (roughly 20mins walk). Near the river so ideal for morning walks. Close to the massive market and also pastry shops. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff were great and very helpful. They also have a daily Aperitif from 6.30pm til 8.30pm so we got to sample some delicious fresh French deli meats.

The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I went there on a business trip with colleagues and it felt like home. I loved it. I would consider staying there again next time. I like it.

Just on the edge of a railway, sound insulation is OK, the balcony has 2 doors, the room has no TV, no slippers, no toiletries, shower gel and shampoo, no paper cups, you can ask the bar for free hot water. If you pay in Ctrip, the front desk cannot invoice. There is a front desk that will speak a little Chinese. Breakfast is 16 euros, there are not many things, the taste is acceptable. UnifiedPay card payment is not supported, and MasterCard magnetic strip card swiping has not been successful.

The daily cleaning was not carried out on the 2nd day of our 4D3N stay. The bathroom is too small. One of the counter staff, a lady, was quite rude and unable to handle hotel guests requests professionally, suggest to send her to attend relevant training if possible.

My overall conclusion is that this was a nice hotel which was worth the money paid, but that doesn't mean I liked absolutely everything there. The important stuff - it was spacious, it was quiet, it was very clean. The not so important, but could bring you some nail bites - the reception works until 9pm - and after that you're on your own. If you have a late check-in... there was no communication from the hotel side prior to that, so it was a surprise. Luckily the phone seen somewhere on the wall lead me to calling someone (after midnight actually) who told me on the phone a code for the safe holding the envelope with my key. But if the hotel door was locked (and it usually is)... I don't know what I would do. But apart from that, everything else was a pleasure. Thanks!
