Best Hotels near Mens Base, Phnom Penh

This place has the best view in Phnom Penh. Team is extremely nice and kind, bed is comfy, room is spacious and feels like a cool studio with microvawe and water dispencer. Breakfast is good. I havent had a chance to swim but pool is very cool. However it is full of cockroaches. If one person mentioned this in their comments i wouldnt stay at this hotel. Not just one or two. I killed 15 16 teenager and 5 baby cockroaches. Didnt have a chance to meet parents. A friend of mine was staying another room and he left the hotel earlier and said there were even cockroaches in his pillow. So sad cockroaches took over the place!

There is a hospital next door and there are many office buildings around. It is not far away to eat out. The reception staff are willing to help. The room is cleaned and replenished every day. There is a place for mobile phones next to the toilet, which is very convenient.

An unfortunate experience, I found myself in the worst situation dealing with M Residence, as on the day of my check-in, the Sale Manager Vincent neglected to inform the receptionist about my booking, and instead of booking online for a fair rate, they wanted to charge me 50 USD per night, when it was only 24 USD online. Because the receptionist was new and unfamiliar with the process, she had to validate each step with her manager. It took me 45 minutes to check-in. The whole thing felt sketchy because I had to pay 130 USD with tax instead of 72 USD online with Airbnb small tax it would have cost max 86 USD if I recall. Anyway, I paid and received a very small room with hardly working air conditioning and filthy elevator. The swimming pool was breaking apart, and it appeared that the structure was inadequately maintained. There was no pool attendant, and no PH and CL analysis of the chemicals in the pool was available. The entire establishment is a shambles, and they definitely lack hospitality skills. Anyway I shared some information about my experience with the Manager who told me “The staff are so bad” I wanted to react and tell him that he should invest in training them but I could see there was no point in telling him has he clearly do not hold any sense of hospitality skills… The day before my departure I contact the “Receptionist Supervisor” and asked if I should do my check out now to collect my deposit back as I leave at 5:50 am and she informed to not to worry there is 24/7 staff at the lobby. Of course, the day of my check out there was no staff at the lobby to proceed my check-out so now they are ghosting me over 30 USD refund. In addition to all of this I intended to do a collaboration with the Sales manager upon my arrival a discount or free stay over some pictures which they gladly receive but never gave me proper feedback nor a compensation. M Residence is a disgrace to the hospitality industry in Cambodia. Their unethical practices and scams are not the way to conduct business.

This place was outstanding. It exceeded my expectations. I’m thankful that they had space for a last minute booking. I was able to book a single room, which was comfortable. The décor in the hostel resonates with a homey vibe. With a swimming pool and a bar there were chances to meet other travelers. I would recommend this place for solo travelers or couples. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The staff can also speak a little English so the service was good during my stay. This hostel is close to the national monument, the Royal palace and the national museum.

We reserved a suite and a connecting room for our children. It felt as if we were in a flat. We stayed one week. We asked for a view on the Royal Palace, which I highly recommend. Hotel is very new and extremely comfortable and luxurious, staff very friendly and professional. Special mention for Sotheavy Hem in the breakfast lounge, dynamic and always ready to help and to the enthusiastic Srini. As othet reviews mentioned hotel is ideally placed. Hotel was above my expectations and I can only recommend to stay there.

STAY AWAY. I found a USED SYRINGE (hypodermic NEEDLE used for injecting HEROIN and other ILLEGAL DRUGS) in my room. It wasn’t hidden either, it was in plain sight — no idea how their staff missed it but it shows there is serious criminal activity going on here. And also if their basic cleaning is that bad, do you really think the sheets etc are very clean? This is very unsanitary and not healthy! When I tried to talk to the front desk they just wanted to argue about it. The manager especially was very rude to me and told me it was “ok”. NO IT IS NOT OK. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted by an array of breakfast options that were as diverse as they were delightful. The variety ensured that every morning was a new experience, catering to all tastes and dietary needs. The staff at the hotel deserve a special mention for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and my needs were met with a smile. The facilities were nothing short of excellent. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing for a great start to the day or a relaxing session in the evening. The food court boasted a wide selection of cuisines, making every meal a culinary adventure. The internal entertainment provided endless fun without the need to step out of the hotel, and the tax-free shops were a haven for shopping enthusiasts, offering a variety of goods at great prices. In conclusion, the hotel excels in every aspect, from its varied breakfast and courteous staff to its outstanding amenities. It's a place I would recommend without hesitation and look forward to visiting again.

I am a well seasoned traveler who travels frequently for both work and leisure. Let me start by saying that the service at this hotel was great. The staff were warm and welcoming when I arrived with my partner. The gym and pool area are outstanding. As fitness lovers this was great to see. However, there were two things that were really problematic that I must point out. The former being the most pertinent of the two: 1. Cleanliness: One of the towels in my hotel room had been soiled with dry excrement. I was shocked when I saw this and thankfully I spotted it before using it. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, but I have never experienced this ever. This was extremely disappointing and immediately changed my view of this hotel. This simply should not have happened. 2. Breakfast: My view here may be more subjective, but I thought the breakfast could have been better. The selection seemed very limited in terms of both food and drinks. I would recommend that they look into this, as competitors in this price range offer a far more varied option. Unfortunately, due the the cleanliness issue this wouldn’t be a hotel I would want to visit again. I do however recognise that mistakes happen. However, the extreme nature of this error was very off putting and ruined our stay.

I booked for a 3-bedroom suite good for 6 pax but we were 8 in group so we paid additional 25$ each for excess person. We were also advised to deposit 100$ upon check-in. (But no one advised me thru email or call from hotel or Agoda. Good thing we had cash. I don't know if the deposit is mandatory to all kind of bookings to them.) Room was spacious and have laundry area too. Complete kitchenette available for use. However, 1 AC need some cleaning coz air coming out is useless, super hot! Some light bulbs are busted also. Pool and Bar area is on the 13th floor. Water is clean. The view from it was nice also. I hope they put more signage around the pool area for reminder since it's a rooftop pool. Upon check-out, the hotel was very strict about cleanliness. We were charged 21$ for a bathroom rug STAIN that they cannot remove! AMAZING! (We got the rug for memorabilia. 😂) So if you will book in this hotel, inspect all the towels or rugs before using it, look for stains, or might as well bring your own if you don't want to be charged. I do hope their policies was clearly explained on the booking sites. Btw, the hotel phone number in Agoda is wrong. No one answers. Google their hotel name and you will find the correct contact numbers. 😉 Overall, 7.7/10 rating.
