Hotels near Coi Nguon Museum, Phu Quoc Island

After being stuck at home for the past 3 years and watching replays of Getaway, we finally got out of Australia and arrived in Phu Quoc. Stepping out of the taxi we were warmly greeted by the concierge staff with the traditional 'Xin Chao' as they escorted us into the beautiful Movenpick Resort foyer. Immediately my wife and I felt relaxed. This was what we had missed during COVID, escaping our busy lives and enjoying such beautiful resorts. Check-in was seamless and we were in our room in no time. I had an issue with our room and spoke to Linh at reception who was so nice and professional, and quickly resolved the situation. And in a flash we were by gorgeous pool and enjoying tropical cocktails. We spent the next 3 days laying around the pool, in the sun loungers looking out into the ocean, taking naps in the hammocks between the palm trees and enjoying the ocean breeze as we watched the sunsets. The Spa was amazing and one of the best we've experienced. The pre-spa sauna, stream room and spa baths was sooo relaxing. Breakfast was a feast to the eyes with delicious authentic Vietnamese food and a great international selection. The afternoons were spent devouring all sorts of enticing desserts during Chocolate Hour (and all for free, what a bonus!) We loved spending our evenings at Aura Beach Club as Vu was so helpful and attentive. He even got the whole team to sing Happy Birthday to me which was such a pleasant surprise. When we returned to our room, Linh and the reception team had organised a birthday cake and some gifts from the Resort. So sweet! It's things like this that make our holidays even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed Movenpick Resort Phu Quoc and the wonderful staff that made it so special. We will be back! and will bring all our families and friends :)

Excellent service, convenient location, and extremely helpful staff. I'm in utter love with this place. The décor of the brand-new room was sophisticated and elegant. The hotel employees provided excellent service, which made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Leila, in particular, was kind and thoughtful in setting everything up for us, and she always comes with a big, genuine smile, which makes us even happier. She went above and above to make my stay as enjoyable as possible by planning my routes to visit various locations on my own, explaining in detail how to get there, and reserving my ticket to the airport. We want to express our gratitude for making our experience spectacular and incredibly memorable. Overall experience can be expressed in 3 syllables Fa Bu Lous, can’t wait to go back.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was delightful, and the aesthetic appeal of the hotel created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The receptionist was incredibly kind and friendly, making check-in a breeze and ensuring I felt welcome throughout my stay. While the location is slightly removed from the bustling city center, the stunning views and peaceful environment more than made up for it. I truly enjoyed the serenity and natural beauty surrounding the hotel. Additionally, the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, which added to my overall comfort. Every aspect of my stay was enjoyable and interesting, leaving me with wonderful memories. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant getaway.

The hotel is very reasonably priced, the room is tiny but generally has everything you need, including a beautiful view from the window and a breakfast that takes you to another hotel at the other end of the village (and yet free drinks are not included in the breakfast, meaning you have to pay even for a cup of coffee: don't forget to take your wallet to breakfast!). However, there is a serious problem that would make me not stay at this hotel again. The walls are made as if they were made of paper. If a neighbour puts on music at 1am, you will hear it as if it were in your room. I had to knock on the next door to ask neighbors to stop the music. They woke me up! Also, there is essentially no ”privacy” as the doors to the room have a gap at the bottom as thick as a finger. At night you can see the light from the corridor, and in general anyone can look into the room through such a gap. Not to mention the problems with soundproofing.

Stayed here for 5 nights in January and after the first day was so close to checking out and staying somewhere else as it just wasn't up to standard. Whilst the hotel looks great and the location right on the beach is amazing, it lacks many things that allow it to have a 5 star service. Firstly, the staff speak very little English making it difficult to communicate and creates a massive service barrier. The location is quite isolated which to be honest is ok but the hotel has very limited options for food and drink. There is ”two restaurants” but only one menu to serve room service, the beach restaurant and the main restaurant. The beach restaurant stops serving food at 330pm and closes at 10pm. The main restaurant only do a buffet option in the evening. Service overall was very slow taking 30 to 40 mins on average to get food and drinks, a lot of which they often ran out of stock. Breakfast was great with lots of options but again we often waited 30 mins for tea and coffee which we would ask many times for. Rooms were lovely, clean and spacious with amazing views overlooking the beach. I went to the spa twice and had two full body massage. The massage was nice and relaxing but you are kind of rushed out afterwards. Overall a very impressive hotel to look at but in my opinion they don't deserve a 5 star rating as it fails service overall.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sunset Bay Retreat Phu Quoc and was truly impressed by the outstanding customer service provided by one of your staff members, Trang. From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond by offering me an early check-in at 9 AM without any additional charges, which was greatly appreciated after a long journey. Trang’s personalized service made my stay even more memorable. She kindly arranged transportation for me to a nearby Halal restaurant and later to the airport, ensuring I was well taken care of. Additionally, she provided complimentary buggy service to the nearest souvenir shop, even though it was a considerable distance away, which added to the convenience of my trip. Her genuine care and warm hospitality truly made me feel welcome, and I can confidently say that she is a real gem of your hotel. Because of Trang’s exceptional service, I will definitely return to Sunset Bay Retreat whenever I visit Phu Quoc in the future.

Pros: - good location, walking distance to Grand World - low price, best if you don’t spend much time at the hotel and mostly out and about - clean and modern decor Cons: - no aircon in corridor and elevator, it can be very uncomfortable to step in the elevator on hot days - no room service, no service at pool area, no option to pay for food and beverage at check out. - minibar is empty, instant coffee and tea bags are available yet no milk. When we requested milk for our cup of tea, the reception staff advised we would need to go to the bar (ground floor) to purchase milk at own cost. Milk is essential and it has always been provided free of charge wherever we’ve been (Bali, Singapore, Australia, etc.) - mid-stay ROOM INSPECTION. This is very UNPLEASANT practice to Westerners and should be stopped. Not sure if this is normal in Vietnam, but it is very displeasing and annoying to us (Australians). We often stayed a few weeks to months in Bali and other Asian countries, we’ve never had room inspection where 2 staff entered our room, 1 of them walked around the room pretending to check the skirting board with a screwdriver while the other was casing the room (it was obvious that they wanted to check to room). - poor English proficiency. Only one reception staff can speak English well, the rest of the staff don’t. My husband was quite frustrated during our stay because he couldn’t communicate with staff. We’ve stayed in Bali and other Asian countries, all of their staff are fluent in English including security and housekeeping staff. - lack of attention to food safety. Signage is very small. No cover when the meals bought outside to the pool area. Food was not kept at optimum temperature can cause bacteria to grow to dangerous levels that can cause illness. - lack of knowledge about beverage. Staff didn’t understand my husband’s order of Bourbon + Cola (very common drinks to Westerners) and advised they don’t have Bourbon. When my husband went to the bar with the staff, there was a big Bourbon bottle sitting on the shelf! - lack of customer service. Staff was not attentive to customers, my husband had to walked to the restaurant to get staff attention when we wanted food and drinks while we were at the pool. Staff should walk around and simply check in with customers. Staff didn’t greet customers when they walk past, again when we were in Bali and other Asian countries, their staff (everyone including housekeeping staff) always said good morning, good afternoon or good evening. - FACIAL BIOMETRICS RECOGNITION was an entry requirement to enter buffet breakfast. This should be disclosed in booking description including third-party websites like Agoda, Booking.com, etc. No information on Facial Biometrics Recognition are found anywhere or has ever been communicated to us prior to checking in. If we have known, we would stay elsewhere for sure (we will request that our data are permanently deleted from their system and we suggest that you do the sam

Love this hotel! I definitely will book again for my future trip! This hotel even send me birthday cake and birthday card, so warm ❤️ and there is complimentary airport transfer service, which save your taxi fares. and shutter bus for certain attraction point like safari, vinwonders, grand world.. all these super near. The hotel has their own beach and swimming pool, super nice, service super good! Highly recommended! Price is reasonable!! Grand world view omg, love it!

I booked Villa for 6 people, the villa is so big, have private pool and can stay at least 15 people. The activities in water world are so attractive and fair price compared to other beach

My partner got hurts when he was playing the water sport on the beach of Melia hotel. The owner of the water sports did not inform in advance that there were wires underneath the hovercraft.As a result, the child fell and went to the emergency rescue, causing the companion's leg to bleed from multiple places. We went to the hospital urgently to stop the bleeding but because I was in a rush, I didn’t bring any cash. After the examination at the hospital, the hospital needs to pay a deposit in advance before providing treatment. Water sports owners refuse to admit their facilities pose serious safety risks. But the responsibility is obvious. Because of the language barrier, I had to return to our hotel to ask for help and coordination.Emergency time LE helped us solve this incident. Finally, thanks again to LE. Thank you for having such an outstanding and friendly staff at your hotel.
