Disappointed... Got there and they checked us in and after a long day was looking forward to a shower but they neglected to mention that the water was shut off and weren't sure how long it would be before it was on. Then in the morning go to the office for breakfast and learn there isn't any or even coffee for that matter even though they advertise that they have breakfast. This place is a joke seeing that they are more expensive than Motel 6 and offer less, at least Motel 6 has coffee in the morning

Some people might ask: Howard Johnson? Very good? So yes, the chain still exists, and this property rates pretty good in my estimation. Although located less than 1/4 mile from the heavily trafficked US-605, we experienced no noise. The grounds are kept manicured and clean. The lobby feels fresh, albeit small. The room - queen bed - felt roomy. All appliances in the room functioned. And there was little anxiety about the surrounding business district; this end of town has been kept up. Downsides do exist for sure: the strong odor of the disinfectant to clean the room; the flimsy towels; wall A/C units that continuously cycle (external temps were near 100 degrees). But the staff do try to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

since it was during summer, a/c was NOT on in room!! seemed to take forever just to get it cooled off. i didnt notice roaches until check out.... price could have been better than what i actually paid for, but since it was only 1 nite.... if there is a next time, it w/be soley because of convenience/location & if longer then 1 nite, hopefully have a better rate.
