We recently stayed for 2 nights at this hotel since although it was overpriced, its nightly rates were better than its competition's. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was standard fare for a Holiday Inn Express, and we appreciated the one type of fresh fruit each morning (oranges the first morning, bananas the second.) And the bed was comfortable. The worst part of the stay, and the one reason why I won't stay here again: the A/C in our room was SO loud . . . There was an A/C unit on the wall that appeared to do nothing, which led us to try the A/C unit directly under the window. It worked fine at cooling the room, but - even with ear plugs - was much too loud for us to fall asleep with. The only solution that worked was turning off the A/C completely, leading to a too-warm room halfway through the night. (Not okay with Florida's high temperatures.) So frustrating!! The location is okay; not near the things and people in Tampa Bay that we visited, and traffic in Pinellas as of late is awful. If this will be the case for you too, add some time to your calculations of when to leave to get somewhere.

Only real complaint is the front desk attendant Steve. Being the only person in line while the other clerk was helping a customer in-front of me instead of helping me check in he decided it was more important to run around talk poorly of his other co-workers and do busy work. While waiting patiently he finally greeted me after standing there for 20 minutes that he would “be with me soon”. After waiting another 10-15 minutes he was ready to “help me” if you would even call it that. He started the check in process couldn’t remember my name after he asked three times what the reservation name was under walked off twice without saying anything and then would come back and ask the same questions finally the second time the front desk manager stepped in and finished the process as well as offering two free drinks I’m sure because she could see the frustration in my face. Was a horrible start. Although Steve ruined the beginning of the stay the hotel and amenities and rest of the staff were amazing, so friendly and on top of things. Loved the location and set up of the hotel!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Gulf-to-Bay in Clearwater for two nights to escape Hurricane Ian. The room was clean and comfortable and it was great to have a free hot breakfast each morning. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating and a big TV. The hotel is in a non-evacuation zone and I felt totally safe and really didn’t hear the rain and wind.

I booked this for my wife to attend a religious speaker near by this hotel. My wife arrived late and was not greeted how any customers should be greater. ONLY ”ID PLEASE!” As my wife searched for her ID he said another ”I SAID I NEED YOUR ID” The next day I get a call from the woman at the front desk say that I was staying in two room and I would be charged and I needed to figure out what room I wanted to stay. I called my wife to ask what was the situation with the ac that made her change room. She did not change room nor complain about anything. The woman in the phone said ”Well we need to figure this out and someone needs to move the luggage to one room or we are going to bill you for both rooms” I told her she was wrong my wife was still in the original room. I ask to talk to the manager she told me they would not call till Monday. Insulting us and insinuating that we were defrauding an inn keeper. Stay June 23 to June 25. I have messaged in the app and the text message service the hotel uses with out any responses.

LLA CasselsWe enjoyed everything about this historic hotel: the room, the lobby chock full of art and references to its speak-easy past, the pastry shop, the bar, the comfy, covered front porch, the pool and fountains, food and drinks served poolside, the friendly staff, and the friendly guests we met. Also, the Hollander is perfectly located in St. Pete, being in the historic downtown district near my company headquarters and close to great destinations such as the Salvador Dali museum, Chihuly blown-glass gallery, and Morean arts center. I love historic downtowns and boutique hotels such as the Hollander. The rooms in historic hotels are often smaller than ones in chain hotels, but they more than compensate with their unique personalities and intimate atmospheres, which leave me with vivid memories of my stays in these sweet lodgings and the cities they call home.

GGuest UserFairfield Inn is located a short walking distance from the heart of Clearwater, Florida. It's approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, as well as the main-*****. In my opinion, it's in a perfect location, short of being right on the beach - and is a little more quiet than other places nearby. The hotel is newer and has several amenities including an heated outdoor pool, fitness room, complimentary breakfast, and golf cart shuttle rides to nearby locations. The staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were spacious and CLEAN. The breakfast had many options and a variety of different selections daily. My only wish is that there would have been an outdoor hot tub or sauna. And monly complaint is the mandatory valet parking. When on vacation, I prefer to have quick, easy access to my vehicle rather than waiting and having to tip each time I leave or return, in addition to paying the daily parking fee.

GGuest UserGreat stay, even better than expected! We checked in here after a nightmare cruise and came to see the atl vs. tpa baseball game. The location was perfect for the game and the hotel exceeded all expectations. EMILY was amazing and let us drop off our bags early and even called us directly to let us know out room was ready a little early for check in, just like we requested! We couldn't have asked for a better experience all because of her. She checked in us with ease and was extremely friendly and nice to speak with. The rooms were extremely clean - even offered multiple packs of wipes! The beds were very very comfortable, sheets felt great and clean. The bathroom was stocked and large! A highlight was a ledge in the shower allowing us to store our items on it, which NEVER happens at a hotel (Things always end up having to be placed on the floor because there is usually one little corner shelf). We had four grown adults in the rooms and it never felt crowded once! The internet was easy to access and very fast, the elevators felt safe and were clean, the lounge and lobby were very spacious as well. Can't say enough good things about this hotel as a Marriott Gold Elite member. Would absolutely stay here again (hopefully with Emily again at the check in desk!).

EEmilyWhile researching hotels, I visited this property a month before my arrival to make sure the accommodation would work for my purposes. At that time, I was shown a specific layout for the 1 bedroom queen beds configuration. The front desk attendant specified the description of the room that I should book when I made the reservation.
I made the reservation based on their information and the room I was shown.
A month later when I check in, I am given a room half the size of the one I was shown. I tell the front desk that it was not what I was told and I am unhappy with the room and I need the bigger room. The gas let me and told me that they had already given me the biggest room they had. I'm not kidding when it was literally half the size of the one I previewed.
I walked the front desk attendance to the door of the room I was shown and was assured that those rooms are the same size and they couldn't be shown to me at that time because they were occupied.
I had to cancel most of the event I had planned due to lack of space and lost revenue I would have earned giving a workshop to paying pupils.
Complete bait and switch. Avoid this property.

GGuest UserWe LOVED this resort, so we think it comes down to what you prefer and what you are expecting. This resort is charming. Yes, a little older, so if you are looking for fancy and modern, this is not it. We loved the decor, which seems like it has been updated at some point, very colorful and a bit latin in feel, but also a bit nostaligic-retro-ish, maybe like 60's without seeming that old. Since we love visiting places like Cocoa Beach with that throwback feel, this was a plus for us. We originally booked a standard room with a discount booking agent, but when we arrived we had saved more money and splurged for a balcony on the poolside--and we will do that again for SURE. In fact, this is our new favorite place to visit. We came the week after students went back to school, so the beach was not hugely populated, and we had a lovely, mostly quiet stay. We were looking for escape and rest by the ocean for the first time since the pandemic, so all we needed was clean, affordable, not gross, next to the ocean, able to feel the breezes, and that is what we got! Note: They do not clean the rooms every day, but every few days, but they will replace any items you need upon request. We appreciated the eco-friendly aspect of this! Plusses: -Affordable -walking distance to shopping center and various restaurants and bars -check out the freebee e-cart taxi that will pick you up next to hotel and take you nearly anwhere in St. Pete! -bus stop/trolley stops next to or across from hotel -we encountered a margarita special in the restaurant the first day that seems to happen often -Kitchenette with microwave and refridgerator -Beach literally right outside. (Non-canopied lounge chairs are free, but chairs with covers will have a charge) -Beautiful landscaping Potential downsides- -Not fancy or modern -no breakfast provided, though there is a restaurant on property as well as a pool bar that serves food, too -Not totally sure of the restaurant hours? They often looked closed. We never ate there, as it seemed a bit expensive for what we were interested in getting We are literally looking for the next opportunity to go back, and this is where we want to stay. There was something so charming about it, and the service was great.

The rooms look like something out of a movie about cheap **********s and their johns--old smelly carpets, broken furniture, door safety latch that was actually missing, bathroom fan like a Harley Davidson. There are so many better places to stay in Clearwater, and we wish we had. The last straw was that we were told to bring our dirty sheets and towels to the check-in counter because there wasn't any housekeeping service.
