Hotels near Mudan Shihmen Battle Field, Pingtung

We stayed at Amanda for 2 nights with one of our friend couple. First night, we stayed at the ”Rose City 2 Bedroom Suite” which was exactly like its description - 2 bedroom and one bathroom with two doors which was great. We really enjoyed the first night. The location is great - very close to the night market and all our outdoor activities. Second night, we reserved the ”Ancient Jade Villa” with a private swimming pool. We have traveled enough to know that sometimes pictures posted are outdated so we called the hotel in advance to make sure that it met our needs BEFORE booking. We needed two bedrooms and wanted to book the villa with the private giant swimming pool as it was portrayed on trip.com. We were told that it has two bedrooms - which unfortunately was not true. The swimming pool was not like the one posted on trip.com (they have updated the pictures now) When we told the staff that this was not the room we booked, they said that it was ”renovated” and that the pool was exactly like the picture. The picture of the pool was an almost full size pool that was rectangle and the room we received was a triangular jacuzzi sized pool in the corner (?????) *** I think the most unfortunate part of this incident was that the staffs were treating us as if we are stupid and kept insisting that the room we received was exactly the room on the picture.. (The two pool pictures are below) Thankfully, I'm guessing it is the manager but he handled the situation quite professionally and was able to accomodate us into two separate hotel rooms quite quickly. A frustrating situation was resolved very quickly with care and we really appreciated it. One other thing I'd like to mention is the breakfast restaurant staff's behaviours. - Some of the food were out so we asked if it would be refilled, one of the waitress replied to us that it will be. After 20 minutes of waiting later, we asked another waiter and he said it will NOT be refilled. But about 3 minutes later, it was refilled??? - We asked for some ice, and the waitress said ”Actually, you cannot actually ask for ice” ????? Some other minor issues were: - unstable electricity in the rooms (the electricity plugs kept turning off for some reason) - the lighting in the rooms were way too dark considering that the rooms didn't get too much natural light (to the point where putting on makeup was almost impossible) - the air condition system was unstable (it was either too cold or too hot) - the door handles were either broken or the screws were coming off and there were too many light switches that did not work or were confusing(?)

20240712 The biggest factor in choosing Chengyi is that on Kenting Street, the only problem I worry about is the roadside. I am afraid that there will be the sound of traffic during the night break. Although Chengyi does not have its own parking lot, it provides great convenience to residents by offering discounts on surrounding parking lots, which is great. The space in the room is also very large, and the bathroom is separated from dry and wet areas. The only thing I am not satisfied with is that the sink is too high! For me, who is only 155 centimeters tall, the height at which I wash my face and flush is really unfriendly, hahaha! The toilet paper for the bathroom is replenished, and they pay great attention to hygiene and cleanliness. They are specially packaged in zipper bags. This really touched me. I can also use the hotel tissue with confidence. Breakfast is a half buffet, and the other main meal is a main meal. Please inform the front desk staff before 19:00 on the day of check-in. The meals are not bad and the food is very fresh! If you like to play in the water, Chengyi also has a small swimming pool. The coconut trees around it just block the sun, so you won’t be too exposed to the sun at all. This swimming pool is also the perfect finishing touch!

The place is very central and you can experience and access the night market easier. A very plus point and it is not facing, it is 1 street behind and you also can access the beach. However, there is no swimming as there is a warning of strong under current. The rooms are clean but there is no room tidying, you have to call the front desk for a hot water flask and tea sachets. They don't provide any coffee. There is a central water dispenser. The room configuration is proper with the toilet and its accessibility is nicely constructed. The only thing that did not go so well is the air-conditioning. It can only go to 21*C. Anything lower would require it to stress itself and you with the noise of overdrive. For food, it is not an issue if you are not fussy. If you are more western, there is a McDonald's and an Italian (lunch onwards). Else you can take a bus down to 恒春. There are a lot of buses that plough this route and you can get the timing from the application via scanning the QR code. As this is a small town, most of the transactions are in cash. You can either bring it with you or take it from the ATM at the 7-Eleven in the town.

Very long journey. The staff is very friendly and helpful. These rooms are very nice. There is a free shuttle bus to Kaohsiung. Not enough free sunbeds on the beach. You have to consume for 200,- ¥ per person at the beach bar. Caged parrots in the garden. The breakfast room is uncomfortable and noisy. You have to decide when you want to have breakfast. There are two slots.

In order to catch the blue train, I traveled to Fangliao for the first time and found it to be a very good tourist spot. The hotel is very close to the train station, and there are many snacks in the nearby restaurants. It's no problem to have a late-night snack. You can also walk to the fishing port. The service staff has a very good attitude. Hotel prices have increased slightly now

The transportation is convenient, the environment is elegant and quiet, and the C P value is very high at this price. The service staff is very friendly and will solve any problems immediately. The dining environment for breakfast is very clean. I am very satisfied and will go there again next time.
