Xingshengjiu Courtyard Hotel

Off-season, so it wasn't crowded. The courtyard is beautiful, and the room was very clean. It's stunning both day and night. Plus, it's super close to South Street – just a few minutes' walk to find great food. You can even do a travel photoshoot right at the property, which is really convenient.

This boutique courtyard hotel, located in the heart of the ancient city, offered heartwarming service throughout our stay, far exceeding our expectations. The front desk service was impeccable; they proactively contacted us beforehand to ask for our arrival time and arranged a complimentary pick-up service. Upon arrival, they helped with our luggage every step of the way, showing great care and thoughtfulness. During check-in, the front desk staff patiently explained the room features, provided a map, and offered travel tips and must-try local dishes. They didn't feel like mere vendors but more like warm-hearted local friends. Any issues encountered during our stay were promptly addressed by the 24-hour butler service. The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated century-old Jin merchant residence, retaining its ancient, charming courtyard layout while featuring fully modern amenities inside the rooms. We enjoyed a Mlily zero-pressure mattress paired with buckwheat and memory foam pillows. The smart home control system was incredibly convenient; a simple voice command to 'Xiaodu' could open/close curtains or adjust the air conditioning. Every detail was meticulously handled. In the evenings, the courtyard was beautifully lit with hanging lanterns, offering a lovely night view. Breakfast was an exquisite 'nine-grid' spread, balancing Jin-style specialties with both northern and southern flavors, and even included local aged vinegar for us to sample. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was delicate. Furthermore, the hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to the Ming and Qing Street and various attractions. It also boasts facilities like a gym, mahjong room, and self-service laundry. Upon departure, we even received a special souvenir. The entire experience was excellent 👍👍👍. We will definitely choose this hotel again when we return to Pingyao and highly recommend it to all friends visiting the ancient city!
