RED Lantern Hall

The room was fantastic, with excellent amenities and facilities. The owner even thoughtfully provided some oil tea. Upon leaving, we received a special Shanxi souvenir gift. The best part is its proximity to Ming and Qing Street and all the major attractions! I genuinely recommend staying here, you can't go wrong.

The Red Lantern Club is located in Mijia Lane, a side street off South Street, which is the most bustling area of the ancient city. Its location is incredibly convenient. Having only opened in August 2025, the facilities are brand new. The design of the courtyard and rooms seamlessly blends with the architectural style of the ancient city; even the patterns on the handrail tiles are antique, distinctive, and elegant. The owner's service was warm and thoughtful. Not only did they upgrade us to two king rooms free of charge, but they also gave us a gift box of aged vinegar as a souvenir when we left – constant delightful surprises! The breakfast variety is quite rich for a B&B, and the golden millet porridge was particularly delicious.

They contacted us in advance to pick us up from the parking lot and take us to the hotel. We didn't have to lift a finger; four young men handled all our luggage right to our room. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome and even got a complimentary room upgrade. The breakfast was also excellent. Overall, a fantastic experience.

The courtyard exterior has the typical characteristics of a Shanxi compound, while the rooms are modern, clean, and well soundproofed. The staff is very service-oriented, offering timely pick-up and drop-off at the station, providing information about touring Pingyao, and even offering souvenirs. The vinegar and Fenjiu liquor specialties sold here are also very authentic; I bought some and had the owner ship them to my home. The room rates offer great value for money too.

Round-trip shuttle to the ancient city (including train and bus stations): The owner asked in advance when I'd be arriving in Pingyao and when I'd be leaving, and arranged for car transfers. It was fantastic! Breakfast: The millet porridge was excellent, and I thought it tasted great. Breakfast was simple but refined, and included a local Shanxi specialty, Guo You Rou (fried pork). Room: The room was also comfortable. PS: Pingyao is really cold this season, and "Encountering Pingyao Again" (show) was amazing!
